Zoloft blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft blood pressure

zoloft

Avatar n tn In the past few months my blood pressure has been really crazy. The diastolic is always over 100 and my doctor has changed my medication now 3 times. Is there possibly an interaction between the Hoodia I'm taking to lose weight and the blood pressure?
2032582 tn?1344530876 s quite common to only look at one side of the blood pressure issue; how much blood the heart pumps each beat. Remember, blood pressure is determined by "cardiac output" x "blood vessel resistance". If you can sense the blood flow (pulse in your ears, palpitations, etc) your cardiac output can be high, but your blood pressure isn't necessarily high.
Avatar f tn Yes i will do that i am getting ready to see the dr right now butthe thing i cant get out of my head is the blood pressure right now i feel so scared i might have a heart attack that i just want to go to walmart and measure my bp
459279 tn?1206997145 I was on Zoloft 50 mg for 6 months, blood pressure was up and still was having anxiety and trouble sleeping, so my Dr increased the Zoloft to(100mg daily) and recently added buspar, 3x daily, I do feel better except my weight is going up even with exercise which is causing allot of new stress. Would you agree the meds are increasing my weight? I'm a while make 46, 5'11 199 lbs.
Avatar f tn possibly,, have you had your blood pressure checked recently? Some meds do raise the blood pressure in some users.... Id definatly have it checked.
1346429 tn?1303874854 The aldomet is to lower my blood pressure, I was taking Diovan before I got pregnant, but the switched my medication because Diovan kills the fetus or causes serious birth defects.
Avatar f tn The pooling slightly reduces the amount of blood that returns to the heart and the amount of blood pumped by the heart. As a result, blood pressure falls. The body quickly responds: the heart beats faster and the contractions are stronger. The blood vessels constrict, so their capacity is smaller. If these compensatory responses fail or are sluggish, orthostatic hypotension occurs. Most episodes of orthostatic hypotension result as a side effect of drugs.
Avatar m tn On a recent visit to the Dr, I made them take a Sitting and Standing check of my Blood Pressure and the difference from Sitting to Standing was a 20 point drop. We repeated it to verify the findings. The determination was Orthostatic Hypotension/Low Blood Pressure. Further findings was Dehydration partially causing the Low BP. Now the Sequence of Events Leading to today. 7 weeks ago I was offered a Hot Tub from a friend, the only drawback was I had to move it right away.

Avatar f tn I have had numerous test (ECG, EEG, VNG, MRI, full blood work). I was convinced it was a brain tumor or MS as a lot of the symptoms are the same. My doctor prescribed Zoloft and Zanex and for a long time i would not take them. Finally i did as i was so tired of feeling so physically bad. the zoloft made my heart race even more so i stopped it over 6 months ago. Another thing that drives me nuts is i constantly have pressure in my head and i look like i haven't slept in months.
4927707 tn?1361144882 A blood pressure of 150/90 is perfectly normal with a heart rate of 120. Of course, a heart rate of 120 isn't considered normal :-) I guess the most important question is; do you usually have a heart rate (and blood pressure) that high, or is it mostly when you're anxious in the doctor's office? I understand perfectly that your doctor wants to put you on a beta blocker - it's the correct medication to take care of a racing heart when you are feeling anxious.
Avatar f tn ve been on Zoloft for 7 years , 150 mg down to 100 now, I take only 50mg sometimes, lately I have been getting these sudden feel of pure sickness like low blood pressure nausea and I was curious if Zoloft is toxic if you have to much in your body ? Like if I take 100 mg a day where does it all go for the 7 years? I've read about it and it freaks me out. Also not sleeping right or eating it drinking enough fluids can make you feel faint and nauseous right ? I just need reassurance.
Avatar n tn I haven't taken any of the meds you're on, but I did have ED problems when I took Zoloft. It was either the Zoloft or the Atenolol for blood pressure. At any rate they gave me Levitra and I haven't been troubled by it since. I noticed the problem almost as soon as they started me on Zoloft. I'm not on Zoloft anymore but it isn't because of the ED. The levitra worked well for me.
Avatar m tn pressure in the head, visual disturbances, pressure against the back of the eyes, and my blood pressure is normal, I took zoloft the first week and all the pressure went away, but the second week I casually smoked two cigarettes, now the pressure came back but eased after a few days
Avatar f tn My blood pressure was 156/80 today in the office but he just gave me Zoloft and Xanax...Tonight i feel off balance, and have a headache ( above my eyes)....Could this be my high blood pressure, or just the anxiety??
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum and i would like to ask a question about switching from zoloft to lexapro. I have been on Zoloft for about 10 years and xanax for anxiety/panic disorder. I take 125 mg a day. I also take xanax .50 mg every four hours. I also have nerve impingment in my cervical spine and spondolothesis in my lower spine. I need surgery but I am really scared. My question to you is, I am going through a lot in my life, I am 54 years old.
Avatar f tn Could you possibly have low blood pressure? I take a beta blocker and sometimes when I'm upright I get very light-headed and it goes away when I sit or lie down and it's because my BP is too low.
Avatar m tn If you read the indications and contraindications for Lexapro , you will note that this SSRI can--rarely--cause either high OR low blood pressure, as well as many other side effects. SSRIs that are better known for causing hypertension are Buproprion (Wellbutrin, Zyban), Venlafaxine (Effexor), and Phenelzine (Nardil): http://highbloodpressure.about.com/od/lifeafterdiagnosis/a/antidepressants.
1298588 tn?1330318981 Nausea, sleep disturbances, and funny dreams are pretty common side effects, but your symptoms sound as though you had an episode involving very low blood pressure--a near-faint, in other words. It could have been a side effect of the Zoloft, a night terror type of experience, or a Vasovagal response to fear. I know you are preoccupied by the idea that your heart will stop, but that ain't in the realm of possibility.
Avatar m tn Yesturday I experienced severe chest pain, tightness of chest. Even I took Pindolol which reduces Blood pressure (Beta Blocker) 10 mg and 20 mg of valium in the morning for anxiety and IT NEVER HELPED and my blood pressure was still high. Now I read Paxil withdrawal narrows Blood Vessels and it increases or releases cholesterol and can do many dangerous things to cardiovascular system and can be deadly. What the HEK DO I DO ????
Avatar m tn lifestyle changes are needed. For example, if you have high blood pressure and you are on meds to lower it, the doc usually advises you to get more active, lose weight, decrease sodium intake, etc. The same is true with anxiety...learning about it is a great way to deal with it....keep us posted!
1131131 tn?1275108488 Hi, I recently was sent to the ER by my physican due to a reaction I was having from my celexa. I was having extreme anxiety, high blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking, etc. They had me stop the celexa. My doctor had me start Zoloft. I have been on it for six days and some of the same symptoms are starting again plus muscle tightness in the chest and throat. She told me to stop the zoloft. I asked if I should titrate it, but I was told to just stop it.
