zocor

Avatar n tn I have been on Lipitor for about 8 years and started having leg pain and many muscle aches. Dr wanted an ultrasound for blood clots since I recently had surgery. Thank goodness there was no blood clots. SO I asked my dr if she thought it could be the lipitor. She never even thought about it. So she agreed and and I went off of Lipitor for 2 weeks and the pain almost stopped.
Avatar f tn Has anyone read how horrific the side effects really are to some of these statins and realized that either they or their loved ones had these very symtoms and becames seriously ill to the point that they ended up in ICU not knowing who they were, where they were, in so much pain they could not bear to be touched and had regressed to near infancy before anyone figured out that it was zocor or lipitor or another statin they were on that was causing these bizarre illnessess ?

Avatar n tn For two years I took Zocor for the purpose of lowering my Cholesterol. When I complained to my doctor about my body aching all over she suggested I discontinue using the Zocor for several weeks. As time passed I realized a lessening of body aches so I decided not to go back on the Zocor. It has now been 5 months since I have taken Zocor. Meanwhile, I have been losing weight (about 5 pounds) without changing my diet. I realized that my pants were baggy in the thighs and seat.
Avatar f tn My husband has High Cholesterol. They put him on Zocor four years ago. Before the Zocor there was NOTHING wrong with him but the cholesterol. He has now tested positive for kidney failure three years in a row and it has been getting worse, this past year his liver started showing distress. He went off Zocor and magically all his numbers got much better (from stage 3 to stage 2). So they put him on Lipitor.
952934 tn?1248948744 I am on a lot of medications 1 plavix 2 cardizem 3 lipitor 4 tricor 5 lovaza 6 aspirin 7 gabapentin 8 zocor 9 prevacid 10 spirvia 11 perocet for the nerve pain. Is there a certian medication you were talking about. I have had several conversations with my heart and family doctor about these pains and pressure and it seems to fall on deaf ears. Can this cause me more health problems if it continues and nothing is done about it.
Avatar n tn When I went to my diabetes appointment last week or a couple of weeks ago I was told that my bad cholestrol was perfect and my good cholestrol was low so the doctor suggested for me to take Fish Oil Omega 3 I used to take 80mg.
Avatar f tn Vytorin does a remarkable job of reducing your Cholesterol, much better than Zocor (Simvastatin) alone. However, Zetia doesn't seem to add anything to the picture as far as preventing heart disease is concened. But read this about Zocor: -"Zocor Users Not Warned of Risks: The FDA's June 2011 safety alert is the most serious of many warnings regarding Zocor and associated risks of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis. Zocor manufacturer Merck & Co.
Avatar n tn In an effort to increase my HDL, I take Niaspan & Zocor.....Recently my MD upped the Zocor from 5mgl. to 10mgl.... Last couple weeks, have had more trouble sleeping, usually waking up after a dream (not nightmares, but somewhat vivid dreams)...I've checked out few sites, & saw that statins can cause sleep problems....Have others here had sleep problems while taking a statin?........
Avatar n tn Has anyone had problems with statins (in particular Zocor) causing an exacerbation of ocular and nasal allergy symptoms? I started Zocor 6 weeks ago, and after the first week, my eye allergy symptoms (conjunctivitis, scleritis, eyes watering, etc) got much worse. By the end of last week, my eyes were tearing to the point that tears were running down my face most of the day, and my vision was blurring. I had also developed constant sniffles. None of my allergy meds gave any relief.
Avatar n tn For most cases, this would be preceded by pain, so unless he is on pretty strong analgesics, it is possible that he never felt the pain in the back until the bone breaks and he would thereafter have no more pain as nerves get injured.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to reduce without taking something like zocor, just quitting smoking? Rather quit smoking than stay on zocor. How concerned should I be?
Avatar n tn I have severe headaches I am currently on Gabapentin 900 mg a day, Zoloft, Requip for sleep, Zocor for cholesterol, Citrizine for allergies and Norco for pain. The only medication that I feel like really works is the Gabapentin although it has put on some major weight for my body which doesn't help my lower extremities.. I'm scheduled for a nerve conduction velocity test in two weeks and I pray that this is it and I get a answer and a solution to fix it.
Avatar f tn In mid December 2007, I was rushed in again due to a different artery being clogged. Both times the cardiologist blamed it on Zocor 80mg. I was put back on Lipitor 80mg after the October event. They additionally informed me that the arteries were all under 45% clogged after the October intervention, There were hematoma and femoral nerve palsy after the October episode as well, so they went through the wrist in December. Can an artery clog wthin two months?

482754 tn?1341791494 I had a laminectomy/ L5-S1 fusion with instrumentation of the lumbar spine in '95 which was very successful. Within 6 weeks I was pain-free and remained so for over 10 years. I'm wondering if anyone out there had same surgery at about that time, and if you're having any new symptoms now. About 6 months ago I began noticing when I walked at my normal (fast) pace, my hip and leg muscles after about 40- 50 ft. tired and burned.
Avatar m tn Ha, there is a typo above. My dermatologist gave me VANOS for my eczema, not Zocor. I think there was a zocor commercial on while i as posting!
Avatar m tn He took me off the Vytorin and put me on Zocor with same results. After stopping all meds and getting a colonoscopy and blood tests nothing was found. He now states I have IBS and put me on SSRI Citalopram. HELP! This discussion is related to Possible side effect of Lipitor and Vytorin on Liver / Body.
Avatar f tn My primary care physician told me there is damage and narrowing of the arteries; prescribed Zocor, diet, exercise and blood tests. I am 62-years old, a nonsmoker or drinker. I do take Lamictal/Klonopin for bipolar 2. My mother died of a stroke at age 69 (smoker). My maternal grandmother also had a stroke. I am very concerned.
Avatar f tn His A1c is around 7. The first of February he had a spinal cord stimulator implanted for back and leg pain. Following the surgery he had some post-op issues was placed on 20 days of Keflex and 10 days of Cipro concurrently. Last Friday, at rest while eating, he had his first ever substernal chest pain. Went to the ER and was admitted for observation for two days.
Avatar f tn You bring up something I knew nothing about. I am on Zocor for borderline high cholesterol. My overal cholesterol level is only 106 now, down from 199. My PCP said yesterday that ones cholesterol can't be "too low." I totally disagree with her and told her so. My adoptive father had cholesterol levels in the high 300's, in spite of living on a diet of what he called "leaves and twigs.
