Common Questions and Answers about Zithromax for upper respiratory infection

zithromax

Avatar m tn A few days later i went to see another doctor about the pain, and he confirmed it was an upper respiratory infection (which has cleared up for the most part). Then recently i have been having a dull headache. And saw a doctor a couple days ago for that and she said it was strees and anxiety related, so i have been taking 1000mg Tylenol every 8 hours. But even so the head ache has pretty much dissapeared except for between my neck and head, my research all indicates it is part of stress.
Avatar n tn Actually it sounds more like you have an upper respiratory infection going on.
1901977 tn?1333991726 Been feeling like something was coming on for days now, but woke up early this morning with a definitely upper respiratory infection-type thing, including a deep chest cough and a lot of congestion in my chest. I just started my 12th week so I'm not comfortable taking antibiotics or most of the normal over-the-counter meds I use to treat these normally. Any magic solutions from those of you who have been through this before?

524272 tn?1212314601 You may probably need an antibiotic. I've recently had an upper respiratory infection and my doc immediately gave me a Z-Pack (azythromycin) and it's helping. I still have coughing just not NEARLY as bad as I did. I spent many nights awake becuase of either my sinuses being so friggin clogged I couldn't breath or I was coughing myself silly. My insides hurt like crazy and I've peed myself so bad I got into the habit of just wearing a heavy flow pad to bed.
Avatar n tn Infections usually start out as upper respiratory infections, such as from a cold and then travel down into your lungs (lower respiratory infection). Other times it's from getting the flu and a secondary infection sets in, such as pneumonia or acute bronchitis. Other times you could get acute bronchitis from being exposed to a lot of irritants in the air (such as wood dust, heavy pollution etc).

Avatar f tn s forums. White phlegm when coughed up is consistent with an upper respiratory infection the vast majority of the time. https://comments.medicinenet.com/what_is_mucus/patient-comments-5247.htm. When phlegm is associated with cancer, it may be green but is most often red which can be red in color or brown as it mixes with white more normal mucus. This is because cancer often bleeds. https://www.cancer.
Avatar m tn I was then getting a lot of allergies and post nasal and was then coughing. Doctor prescribed Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin cap 300 mg for sinus infection. Just lately I got acid reflux.... hard to swallow... even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. 2041076 tn?1329881359 I am uncertain about what this statement means but assume the symptoms to be those of a cold or another type of upper respiratory infection. Such symptoms may be caused by persistent or recurrent infection but, in many instances are caused by repeated exposure to, 1) an allergic substance or, 2) to an irritant; that is, they can be caused by something present in your environment.
Avatar f tn Anyone ever had an upper respiratory infection during their pregnancy? If so, did it affect your baby in any way?

Avatar m tn Went to the clinic shortly after symptoms appeared and was treated for chlamydia (1g zithromax). Within a week the irritation urinating got seriously worse and I developed a terrible eye infection. My tests for chlamydia/gonorrhea came back negative and the nurse said it could be a urinary tract infection. A week after treatment the discharge is clear but heavy now and urinating is very painful. I have lots of swelling and redness at the opening of my urethra.

Avatar n tn I had sex with a sex worker about 10 days ago. It was protected (condom) vaginal sex. I performed oral on her briefly. I received unproteced oral for about 15 seconds. About 5 days after this, I got a cold sore on my lip. I have had cold sores in the past and have tested positive for HPV in the past (never did they type test so I am not sure if I ever had HPV II; I know I have HPVI because of the history of cold sores). The cold sore was a bit unusual.
Avatar n tn Zithromax is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as respiratory infections, skin infections, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases. Got this from googling it, and this is just about as much info as I can provide. Only thing I can advise is to ask him to go along with him to the Dr to find out more as to why you have to take something. Or tell him you need more info as to what he has.
Avatar f tn the doctor prescribe me with zithromax for 6 day!! will that cure the bacteriA??
Avatar f tn s a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao. Zithromax does cross into the placenta, but not as much as other antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I have recently been diagnosed with bronchiectasis & am currently waiting to see a specialist, it was in my lower left lung the infection started, after a double course of antibiotics & steroids it seems to have cleared up but just before the end of my antibiotics my right breast got sore & it travelled across my breast & now its to the side of my breast & towards my arm pit, its not sore to the touch & there are no lumps there but its sore from inside out, I often wake d

242516 tn?1368223905 The flu has passed epidemic rates in much of the country, and if you don't have a cold, I'm sure you have a friend who has the sniffles, fever, chills, aches and pains of a viral upper respiratory infection. This is different from a bacterial infection such as sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A viral infection doesn't improve with antibiotics as these infections do. A virus hijacks your own body's healthy cells and uses it to reproduce and spread.
