Yesterday I picked my daughter up from nursery and noticed that she had an eye infection - red eye with watery discharge. Took her to the doctor where they diagnosed conjunctivitus and prescribed her an antibiotic eye ointment. My concern is that although I'm normally very good with hand hygiene I may still have managed to spread the chlamydia bacteria to her eye causing this infection. My doctor says it's unlikely.

s a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. Do a search for chronic urethral discharge, redness of eyes and you will likely get Reiter's Syndrome, which can be caused by chlamydia. I have similar issues to what you are describing. Zithromax and Rocepin have gotten rid of the 'pink eye' as you are calling it, for the most part. My urethral discharge goes away for a couple or three days and then returns. I have a lot of shooting pains in my joints, which also is a symptom. Doxy does not help me with this at all.

I was given zithromax pills to cure an infection, the pills were to big for me to swallow so I let them dissolve in a little water, then drunk them. Will they have the same effect even though I did not swallow them whole????

I received zithromax (azithromycin) for 5 days. (500 mg the first day and 250 mg day 2-5). The symptoms have improved, for example I no longer have the morning discharge that I had before and the stains in my underwear have almost disappeared. You should not be taking zithromax for six weeks. Antibiotics are toxic, and should not be used unless there is an actual infection. Prescribing zithromax for six weeks, withiout evidence of an actualo bacterial infection, on the remote chance it might cure asthma represents questionable reasoning. There was a recent death from excessive use of zithromax. There is a reason they are prescribed in a packet with only so many capsules.

I think its a throat infection, and thats what my mediocre doctor told me. I tested positive for chlamydia 3 weeks ago and negative for everything else including HIV (test at 7 weeks). I was given Zithromax 1g, which i have previously had before for a single other STD infection a few years ago (also chlamydia). The symptoms of the chlamydia seemed to disappear completely after one week. However at the end of the 2nd week after treatment i began to get symptoms again.
