My husband has had pink eye for over a week now. He was given both antibiotic drops and antibiotic tablets, but they never went away. So, we're suspecting that it's viral conjunctivitis. His left eye, which is the most infectected-looking just keeps having watery discharge. Just tonight, I noticed a reddish spot on his pillow, and realized that it was blood. It looked like it was blood mixed with the watery discharge. He's not complaining of pain or blurry vision.

Why did you both take an antibiotic? Testing 4 days after zithromax was a waste of money for the most part. Though it's not very effective for gonorrhea, it is for chlamydia and if you actually had chlamydia, you would've gotten a negative result at that point anyways. Did they do routine urine testing to look for signs of infection at all? Pink eye is viral most times. In time it will go away but if it's been a week, best to be seen and get eye drops.

My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?

I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane,thera tears,natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.

I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?

I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.

Just regular saline eye drops like a visine are fine. I'd just stay away from anything medicated until you talk to your Dr.

i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?

Please note that I had briefly experimented with the carnosine drops alone, but find that they work much better if you also use MSM drops. MSM serves to make the eye structures more elastic and permeable.

ever since I took zithromax a month ago, I haven't felt well. Upset stomach, loose stool,etc.. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and I am prone to chest pains, etc. Have had many tests and they say there is nothing wrong with my heart. However, ever since I took the meds, I have been having back, shoulder, arm, stomach and chest discomfort. The pain travels and is short lived, and sometimes it gets worse when sitting.

So I am taking prednisone a steroid for 13 days, and zithromax a one time dosage today, and robitussin DM for cough and chest congestion. The doc actually acidentally popped my ear drum today too, it sucked. He was sticking the instrament(sp) that looks inside the ears, and the ear drum was sooooo swollen it popped. So I had blood and puss running out of my ear for a while, until he flushed it out, so im now completely but temporarily deaf in my right ear lol.

A few hours after using Brochlor eye drops to treat conjunctivitis I have completely lost my taste and sense of smell. I don't have a cold or blocked nose. Is this normal as side effect not stated. Will this last a long time? Am I damaging something by using drops? Thank you.

i suffer from vernal keratoconjunctivitis in my right eye. This year, i have been given steroid eye drops a couple of times. Previously, no doctors give me that. In the past 12 months, i been given this eye drops, optodexine, twice. Both for one month. Next, i have also been given, Minims dexamethasone 0.1% single dose drops, the first time was for 1 week.

Have you used Systane eye drops in the past without having any burning? (Note that what I'm about to say does not apply to Systane Preservative Free Vials.) Systane eye drops use a preservative called Polyquad [polyquaternium-1]. Different brands use different preservatives. The symptoms you describe sound VERY much like an allergic reaction to the preservative. I know, because I just found out I'm allergic to Polyquad myself recently when I tried a sample of Systane drops.

Has anyone been prescribed Nevanac eye drops for post Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery ? I was prescribed to take this for 3 months (didn't even have the surgery yet) but the online medical information on it says not to take it for more than 14 days or there could be serious side effects. I'm not big on "blind faith" with what any Doctor just says, especially when it contradicts the warnings to this extreme.

ZThey advice him to use carboxymethylcellulose sodium lubricant eye drops 0.5% w/v instead of this eye drop we are getting hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose i.p 0.3% w/v. sir are these two eye drops are same.pl. tell me.
