ever since I took zithromax a month ago, I haven't felt well. Upset stomach, loose stool,etc.. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and I am prone to chest pains, etc. Have had many tests and they say there is nothing wrong with my heart. However, ever since I took the meds, I have been having back, shoulder, arm, stomach and chest discomfort. The pain travels and is short lived, and sometimes it gets worse when sitting.
I was prescribed 2 Grams of Zithromax and wondered if I could split it up over 2 days instead of taking the full 8 pills at once. I'm afraid of the upset stomach and diarrhea . Just wondering if I cansplit up the dosage and get the same results?
Diarrhea; headache; loose stools; nausea; stomach pain; upset stomach; vomiting.

Today is my 4th day post exposure and I have like burning sensation in Penis and have diarrhea ,not sure what to make of this. There is no discharge . Please help .
But by afternoon or evening of the same day, I had diarrhea. Watery diarrhea. Thusday Morning I started to have sore throat, with mucous and body pain, chills, and headaches. All mild. It persisted through Friday and so I went to CVS to buy Mucinex for cold & flu. I took the medicine and it lowers the symptoms.the symptoms however, don't go away and I still have the flu-like symptoms. It's Sunday!
The condom, if used, was expired and had spermicide on it. I saw a clinic who prescribed zithromax, although my chlamydia/gono test came back negative. A couple days later I noticed that I had red bumps on my the head of my penis, only when it is erect. Nothing is noticeable when it is flacid. I saw a urologist and showed him pictures of the erect penis, but he did no testing.
, next day as a precaution I was able to get a hold of 2mg of Zithromax ( from Pfizer ) and took 2 pills on day and 2 more pills yesterday.
My question is this, what are the chances of contracting chlamydia from receiving oral sex (unprotected) ?
Same question about gonorrhea or similars?
Will the zithromax I took as a preventive measure be effective ? , i mean was it ok to be taken one day after such event assuming any illness takes certain time to manifest ?
I read most of your answers and I am not very much worried about HIV. One day after I had severe diarrhea and fatigue. 60 hours after intercourse I had 1 g Zithromax to prevent bacterial infection. And l got vaccinated for hepatitis B. And also I had Imodium for diarrhea. I will get tested for chlamidia and gonorrea on the 8th day. Do you think I should also take penicillin 2.4mU for syphilis. Can it be effective during incubation period. And also should I take HGIB for hepatitis B.
They gave me one large dose of zithromax and it is Tuesday and I am still having some discharge. Is this normal? Does this mean that the antibiotics didn't work? How long should I wait before the symptoms are gone? Thank you for your help.
That evening she woke in the middle of the night and vommited And had diarrhea. She did have fish for dinner thst night. Both stopped but she also felt the urge to pee more the next day, stomach a little sensitive and her urine smelled a little strong. I understand she took a 1gm of Zithromax and the bladder issues stopped but her gut still has some pain.
To add to this the state health Dep went ahead and gave me 1 Gram Zithromax on 3-Jan-08 and then I took another 1 gram Zithromax the next day I had in the house. Then a week later a Doc put me on Doxycycline for 7 days and Bactrim for 5 days on 9-Jan. I already had HSV-1 and no signs down there of HSV-2. Please give advice. 28-Jan will be 30 days after exposure and 4-Feb will be 37 days after exposure.
Doctor gave me rocephin injection, and put me on zithromax and diflucan prior to the gonorrhea and chlamydial test. I also had HIV testing, syphilis test, and herpes test.I took the zithromax and diflucan but for a week the the symptoms still continued. 4days later Doctor's office called me that they didn't able to process my gonorrhea and chlamydia test due two samples were put in the same tube and that they had to throw away the whole sample.

t, so 3 weeks ago I got a round of Zithromax. Felt worse on the Zithromax and had a 2nd round, this time augmentin, which just ended yesterday. The weakness, shakiness, aches, etc. started when I was on Zithromax as did the left cheek and neck swelling. The doctor said it was my eustachian tubes, but the pain radiates into my shoulder and down my back a little. At first I thought the augmentin helped all this.
I was given zithromax pills to cure an infection, the pills were to big for me to swallow so I let them dissolve in a little water, then drunk them. Will they have the same effect even though I did not swallow them whole????

I would like to know please if like a day or two following 1,5g single dose of zithromax can someone develop an itchy skin rash for 6 days with red spots on the torso and few pimples on the arms and legs, nothing on the face or neck.

I dated a guy back from October-December and we had sex about 5 times. I know it is not healthy to do this but I recently became paranoid and took 1g of Zithromax today just in case of a STD. I was tested before this guy and was clean. I am unable to get a STD test due to facilities closing pretty early and will get one in a couple months but do you think the 1g would have cured gonnoreha, chlamydia, and syphilis if I did have it?
