Hi, i was diagnosed with chlamydia today in my local STD clinic, the doctor gave me 4 250mg Zithromax tablets to take which i did as instructed. A little later without thinking about it i drank one pint of beer. Genuine mistake. i was just wondering will the dose of Zithromax i took work now?
I was with someone exposed to both. I am taking one dose of 1.5g of zithromax to stop or cure myself from catcing of having either one. Will this work and or do the job?
I am a 33 year old male recently had unprotected sex with a female 10 days ago. I became very worried about STD's and got tested last week with a urine and visual check. I told the Dr I did notice small amounts of clear fluid when I would "milk" my urethra before urinating in the morning and sometimes if I became aroused during the day. There was no discharge in the office and the initial urine test came back with no inflamatory reading.
I had unprotected sex and also received oral sex almost 2 months ago with a random girl from a bar. I did not ejaculate. 4 days later I noticed some penile discharge. On the 6th day it was yellow so I went in to the doctor and did a urine analysis. He also gave me a shot of 250mg ceftriaxone mix w/ 10mg of lidocaine, and a liquid dose of 1g zithromax.
i was treated for chlamydia a week ago, give zithromax, still waiting for the test. but 3 days later my right testicle was sore, a week later i was getting clear sticky penile discharge after urination, but more so after a bowel movement. there is not a lot, and it looks like precum
i'm worried the zithromax didn't work and i still have something. can i take pills too soon after sex? i took them the day after intercourse
do yu think it could be a prostate problem?
I initially received a shot and pills for suspected gonorrhea, the results came back and all tests were negative except for a UTI. I was given initially ,zithromax, doxycycline and flagyl , took all those. Still with a discharge and given a second dose of zithromax. I still have a little discharge thats more prominent in the mornings. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
the first was receiving unprotected oral sex from a CSW (a female, I am male) while intoxicated, the second was trying to self-treat with antibiotics. I took 1.5 g. of Zithromax and began 7 days of Doxy (this was prescribed, for a sinus infection), 2x100mg/day about eight hours after the event.
Next day, in a panic, convinced that 1.5 of zithromax would not be enough, I took 2 g of Biaxin at once. I plan to take 500 mg/day for the next 3 days.

I dated a guy back from October-December and we had sex about 5 times. I know it is not healthy to do this but I recently became paranoid and took 1g of Zithromax today just in case of a STD. I was tested before this guy and was clean. I am unable to get a STD test due to facilities closing pretty early and will get one in a couple months but do you think the 1g would have cured gonnoreha, chlamydia, and syphilis if I did have it?
Yes, I would not worry about sex. You do not know that you were infected and even if you were, you took effective therapy.
I was given zithromax pills to cure an infection, the pills were to big for me to swallow so I let them dissolve in a little water, then drunk them. Will they have the same effect even though I did not swallow them whole????
Your original doctor is a good doctor and the doze of zithromax you took was a pre-caution, and it took care of any bacteria that the tests may have been missed.
"So what an i do now?" Though this is an STD forum and does not cover HIV issues. I will say, get a HIV test the soonest one at 6 weeks it will be very reliable, for a conclusive test you will need one after the 3 month mark. Post further HIV questions on HIV community forum.
it went away but came back, so possibly the Zithromax is not strong enough to eliminate possible MG. Presumably if it was MG then 1g Zithromax was doing no good & it was now resistant against it. However I then was given a 3rd 1g & it went away for 4years. So is MG ruled out based on this as i didn't take Moxi or 5days of Zithromax prior to the 4years clear spell? Note: Doxy was also taken prior to the 4year clear spell but this isn't good against MG.
They also treated me symptomatically at the time of the above said visit for both mentioned STD’s. I still have a small discharge when I wake up and “milk” it and it appears to be clear and kind of watery. I have been really concerned with this and I'm constantly checking myself (milking) and noticing a small amount of clear fluid, not even enough to come out, at the tip of my penis. This does not happen every time I check, but often enough to concern me.
I received zithromax (azithromycin) for 5 days. (500 mg the first day and 250 mg day 2-5). The symptoms have improved, for example I no longer have the morning discharge that I had before and the stains in my underwear have almost disappeared. It is now 5 days since I took the last dose of zithromax. I still have some mucus strings and mucus debris in my urine. I did not have this before the STD so I know it is not normal for me.
