zithromax

Avatar m tn I was recently in the emergency department for a bad side effect (vomiting) I had to an antibiotic I was taking called Zithromax. It was for acute bronchitis. I was only there for six hours but I was taken to different areas of the hospital for ultrasound and CT. The bed I was in looked kinda dirty and I wiped my nose a few times without washing my hands before. It has been six days since being released.
Avatar m tn Hello, Yesterday i went to the emergency with back and hand pain and they took me a chest xray and the doctor said i have somewhat "dirty" lungs probably due to my past history of asthmatic bronchitis. She put me on Zithromax (which i haven't started taking yet).
Avatar m tn Honey, an upper respitory infection is far less serious than bronchitis, I bet you did have bronchitis, the z-pac(zithromax) brought it down to an URI, A doctor can make an educated guess that your headaches are from stress, but he/she can not know that unless they have ruled out all other posssibilities, have you had a test called a EEG or a CAT scan?? Also you are taking an excessivly high dose of tylenol, you could be harming your liver. Also do you have allergies?
Avatar m tn but I am curious. In the course of the last theee months I have taken zithromax twice. Once for three days (1g) and then for four days (1gr) after a two months. In both cases I was protecting my chest from bronchitis as viral infections almost always seem to attack my chest. Now, the big question: why do I show ureoplasma since I have taken zithromax? I understand that these bacteria can grow back, but can they in just a couple of months (when my wife had her micro tests done..
1063644 tn?1278643267 I was in the ER on 1/1/11 and was sent home with Zithromax and a diagnosis of acute bronchitis, URI,and febrile illness. What the heck is febrile illness?
Avatar f tn It looks like what I was hacking up when I was fighting bronchitis and double pmnuemonia(sp?
214607 tn?1287677559 Yes, there are many that are okay during pregnancy. I too had to take 2 doses of antibiotics for a uti (different prescriptions). When I had a toothache (not while pregnant) my dentist prescribed Amoxycillon (dont know spelling of it) and it's okay to take during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn But, we followed her treatment of Qvar and albuterol inhalers, oral steroid and even zithromax (because 3-4 weeks in it turned into bronchitis) and none of that helped the cough. In other words, the albuterol doesn't seem to do anything positive for him. Is this really asthma? His coughs do have a tendency of turning into bronchitis. They always have to get really bad before they get better. Considering this last for a month or two, it is very rough for everyone.
Avatar n tn i have never befor had an abnormal cbc. i just finished a course of zithromax for pneumonia/bronchitis and on noprosyn for knee swelling and pain. could any of these medications cause these abnormal lab results? incidentally, the naprosyn is not helping with the knee pain and the swelling is getting worse. my main concern however, is the abnormal cbc. can you provide me with some answers. thank you.
454221 tn?1259445739 I first had bronchitis back in December 2007 and was given z-pak and entex, but no chest x-ray was done. A few weeks later I still had the wheezing and ask my doctor to give me another chest x-ray, but said she would not see anything since I did not have wheezing at the time. So I would still get wheezing about once a week to 2 weeks, but would not interfere with daily normal activities. Early March I started having mild chest pain and discomfort so I went back to the ER to get check.
Avatar n tn My wife just called and the doc put my 2 year old on Zithromax for a week and also perscribed a cough medicine to help him sleep at night. The doc also prescribed a medicine for the nebulizer that will help stop the bronchial spasms so when the coughing does occurr it won't last for 2 minutes straight and he can catch his breath.
1580703 tn?1651904887 You should not be taking zithromax for six weeks. Antibiotics are toxic, and should not be used unless there is an actual infection. Prescribing zithromax for six weeks, withiout evidence of an actualo bacterial infection, on the remote chance it might cure asthma represents questionable reasoning. There was a recent death from excessive use of zithromax. There is a reason they are prescribed in a packet with only so many capsules.
Avatar n tn s it and is sometimes associated with bronchitis and or severe allergies. The Zithromax was just in case there was any bacteria looming too. So I guess that's it for now. I hope you family recovers well too. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Anyway, I had painful ears and clogged ears and had a ct scan and I was diagnosed with mastoiditis which is an infection that has spread to the bone behind your ear. It is a serious infection and sometimes difficult to treat so I would ask your doctor can he please order you a ct scan. Hope everything works out for the best.
Avatar m tn I am concerned about possible drug interactions between the antibiotic azithromycin and the two heart medications warfarin and amiodarone. My relative has brief history of heart problems span one and a half years (though the underlying heart condition itself appears to be congenital). Rhythm problems resulted in CHF, hospitalization, and later diagnosis and heart surgery. Subsequent dysrhythmia and CHF has been prevented adequately with medication.
Avatar m tn Hi, i was diagnosed with chlamydia today in my local STD clinic, the doctor gave me 4 250mg Zithromax tablets to take which i did as instructed. A little later without thinking about it i drank one pint of beer. Genuine mistake. i was just wondering will the dose of Zithromax i took work now?
Avatar n tn Three weeks ago I went to the doctors and they told me I had acute bronchitis after giving me a chest x-ray and I was given 250mg of azithromycin to take for five days to treat it. The problem is i never took the medicine and now three weeks later i feel worse than ever. Orginally, I had a dry cough, no fever, no body aches but i did have sharp pain when i took a deep breath but i did have blood streaked sputum.
Avatar n tn My GP put me on Zithromax after which I had major problems taking a deep breath. Once again, he was at a loss and suggested a sleep apnea test for which there is a 6-month wait. Consequently, I visited a local walk-in clinic in a diagnostic center, was re-diagnosed with bronchitis and put on Biaxin, which appears to have cleared things up.
Avatar m tn I was with someone exposed to both. I am taking one dose of 1.5g of zithromax to stop or cure myself from catcing of having either one. Will this work and or do the job?
Avatar f tn I have been frequently prescribed antibiotics (no penicilin or sulfa as I have been allergic since a child) over the past two years for having several bouts of sinus infections, throat infections and bronchitis symptoms. Suddenly, since April I started developing strange symptoms while taking any antibiotic. The antibiotics I've taken since April are Avelox, Zithromax, Clindamycin and Biaxin (all of which I haven taken previously over the years w/ no problems).
