zantac

Avatar m tn I'm a stay at home mom with a similar (but not exact) experience to your daughter, so take my suggestion for what it's worth. I had chronic hives since childhood. It was undiagnosed until my 20s. My new allergist said people with dermagraphism (my form of chronic hives) was frequently a side symptom of an auto-immune disease. He tested me for 6 different ones, and I came back positive for Hashimotos (my immune system attacks my thyroid).
Avatar f tn started taking zyrtec, seemed to help a little but starts up again so i also started taking zantac along with the zyrtec. i am still getting some hives and itching but now for about the past 3-4 wks now i'm also getting nausea, please help!
1517808 tn?1290813790 Over time, I stopped taking the Zyrtec and Zantac. Now I am only taking the Doxepin. This seems to control everything pretty well. My doctor also told me about Plaquenil, which was a medication for lupus patients but also works well with my condition. However, the Plaquenil is known for some side effects that could lead to retinal spotting, so regular eye exams are required and he recommends not taking it for extensive periods of time. I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn I am now taking 2 mulitvitamins a day and 1000 IU of Vitamin D along with 6 Zyrtec and 2 Zantac and I am still breaking out every day! I have only been taking the vitamins for a week, so I am seeing if that will work eventually, but this is so frustrating! Help!!!!!
1102308 tn?1257806648 A combination of beta blockers, Zyrtec and Zantac helped with my hives.
Avatar f tn It has only gotten worse, I have gone under many tests that all come back negative, thyroid, lupis, autoimmune, etc... I am currently taking 1 Zantac 150 mg in the morning and night, 1 allegra in the morning, 2 zyrtec at night, and benedryl every 4 hours. I can not go outside in the day time, I can not workout, I can not eat hot/spicy foods, I can not get heated up or over heated, and I can't even have sex without getting hives. The pain is the worst when I have sex.
Avatar n tn I have had the same problem. I had never had hives or any sort of allergic reaction to anything before about 8 months ago. I woke up with hives covering my neck, face, back, and torso. Since, then, every single day, without fail, I have broken out in hives. Like yours, they vary in size, severity, when they occur, even sometimes shape. I have been to countless doctors.
Avatar f tn I am 68 years old. I started with hives when I was seventeen. They lasted about a year. I went two years without them. I have had five outbreaks since then all very bad. I am now on allegra and zantac . I also take cytbalta and anavin for depression. Is their anything else i could try. I have had them for eight months now and it is beginning to infer with me makingplan to go anywhere. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECITE. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn t found relief, you may be surprised to know that Zantac (a stomach acid med) works wonders as an antihistamine. My hives went away an hr after taking that with Zyrtec. I hope you found some answers since last year...Best of luck.
620048 tn?1358018235 Oh how hate hives, I had a chronic case to which no one knows what they were caused from after 6 months I was so done with them though! Zyrtec and Zantac did the trick I found out the latter was actually developed as an allergy drug and they found out it helped with acid reduction - funny huh? Got rid of the hives when the straight dose of antihistamine would not - good luck!
Avatar f tn Simple moisturizing creams, wet soaks, calamine lotions etc are generally enough to soothe the symptoms of hives of pregnancy. Try these along with Zyrtec. Zyrtec also causes hives, sounds strange when it is used for the cure. It is also possible that Zyrtec is aggravating your hives. Please take a skin test or RAST test to know what you are allergic to. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult an allergy specialist.
Avatar m tn I have been breaking out with hives on my hands and feet for a couple years now. after family doctor visits, a skin doctor visit and finally an algernist. I now know I am alergic to many things - the worst being dust mites and certain kinds of molds. I have always had algeries to most the rest of the things that I am alergic too. just now in the last two years with the advent in my life of my newest pet dog according to my algernist the dog is the final trigger that got the hives coming on.
Avatar m tn i take zyrtec, allegra and alervert all day every day as my doctor told me for my hives .some days its real bad and others are very good. ive had no effects from the mixture.
Avatar m tn I currently take a multivitamin, 2-3 zyrtec, 2 prednisone, and 1 zantac in the am with breakfast. I have read about L-lysine and have taken some with food but not regularly. I'm about to try drinking Green Tea and see if that helps with the symptoms. I really feel for those who have suffered w/ hives many of years. I don't know how you do it!! I've only had them periodically for 4 weeks and it's about driving me mad!
Avatar f tn He tested for a large variety of autoimmune disorders. The doctor is treating my symptoms with Zantac, Zyrtec, and Singulair. I still wake up to hives every morning. And do not get any new ones during the day. I want to solve the problem at the source. Can anyone help me?
Avatar n tn I just found the post from the other woman who gets hives after giving birth. This happens to me as well. I got hives/eczema within a few weeks of giving birth in 2006 to my first child. They went away in a couple of months. I had another baby 12 weeks ago, and the hives have been even worse this time. Biopsy shows that it's the same reaction as last time. They are much, much itchier than anything I have ever experienced.
Avatar f tn ve had blood and skin tests done for allergies, but they have all come back perfectly normal -- no allergies. I am on Zyrtec and Zantac right now, but my body is becoming accustomed to it and the swelling and hives are worsening. It is a very irritating and unpredictable problem and I feel that I need a doctor who will take the time to investigate this.
Avatar f tn ve also seen a dermatologist and she said finding the root to the problem is difficult therefore nothing can be done but to continuously taking Zyrtec if my body responds to it. Even though I know Zyrtec can temporarily stops the outbreak, I try not to take much as I fear there might be side effects (I heard it can make you infertile if consuming over a long period of time? Not sure if it's true). ...Help!!!!!!!!!...how do I get rid it permanently?
Avatar m tn It gets rid of the stench, and because it burns slightly, it seems to help with the itching. I find I get fewer hives since starting this. Whatever works right? I also find that using hand cleaner instead of soap and water helps too. My hands don't itch, crack, and bleed like they used to.
Avatar m tn I have Discoid Lupus....and JUST started getting really bad hives from C-section scars up my tummy after giving birth to my 2nd child. I had lots of tests done saying I"m literally allergic to everything...food, outside, inside etc...to just take zyrtec and deal with it. I do not believe I'm allergic to all of that, I mean Potatoes?!? There is no way.
Avatar m tn For the last few months I have been breaking out in hives and itching, swelling (severe) espically when doing work or getting hot, possibly cold i am unsure, what might be causing this and what should I do or take. I have been taking benadrly but it keeps coming back.
Avatar f tn I get hives and I take something that is similar to zyrtec for it. Cetirizine 10mg given to me by my VA (veteran affairs) doctor. It's safe. Get well soon. I know the feeling and it *****.
Avatar f tn m terrified that I will never feel good again-it was easier before I knew I had this disorder because I just accepted feeling crappy as a part of daily life for me. I am currently taking Claritin, Zyrtec, Zantac 150, Naproxen 1000mg, and Seroquel (chronic insomnia) along with the Levothyroxine. Just here for some support, and grateful to not feel so alone anymore.
Avatar f tn For pretty much the past 6 or 7 years, I constantly break out in hives whenever I touch anything. It could be that I sit on a chair and get hives on my thighs or open the fridge and get hives on my hands. I've gone to a dermatologist several times, but even after a scratch test and everything, we've found no reasons for my random breakouts. I'm currently on Allegra and have been for years. I've tried Claritin, Zyrtec, etc. I need to know what this is and how to stop it!
Avatar f tn I have seen a Dermatologist who says I need to accept the fact that I will not know what is causing the hives and to treat the hives (allegra and zantac) I have seen the Allergist who wants to check for an autoimmune disease which I don't understand because Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease or problem I thought. My thyroid doctor says there is no link between the thyroid and the hives and has taken a leave of abscence from his practice.
Avatar f tn Since December 7th 2015 I have been experiencing hives breaking out all over my body it all seems like it started after I was admitted to a hospital with an ectopic pregnancy once surgery was complete I felt something was not right and was back to the ER 3 or more times I was readmitted with a staph infection in the surgical area underneath my skin I was treated and released by December 24th I began to break out in hives terribly I tried Benadryl I tried oatmeal baths I went to a dermatologist e
