Avatar f tn I had called my family doctor once again because I feared Conner was suffering from both a Milk and Soy intolerance. My doctor finally refered me to a Pediatric GI and I had Conner seen that day. Everything went okay, it's better news than I had expected, but it's still news I was hoping I didn't get. One a good note, Conner is not allergic to soy(thank god). He does however have a severe Milk allergy that he may not outgrow.
Avatar f tn My doctor refused a referal to a Pediatric GI specialist, and refused to switch from Zantac to a PPI. My doctor pretty much said the reasons behind my childs behavior is due to over feeding....I was not happy to say the least. So in an outrage I packed a diaper bag, made some bottles and flew my hiney to the closest ER with Conner.
Avatar n tn * beware, long answer* Hi, I know how you feel, I've been there, and still am. my son just turned a year he was diagnosed with reflux at 7 weeks.

Avatar n tn 4) and TSH=0.783 (0.3-4.0), accordingly the pediatric endocrinologist of the hospital suggested reduction in terms of giving the dosage 5/7 days a week. Once more we desided to get another opinion. The new pediatric endocrinologist believed there is a high possibility of transient hypothyroidism (not that it matters) and suggested the continuation of dosage at 7/7 days with 25T4 tablets. The last blood test (same molecular lab) after a 2 week period showed the following values fT4= 1.99 (0.6-2.
Avatar n tn my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..
Avatar f tn My two year old had reflux really bad was less than 5th percentile until she hit about 15 months...luckily Zantac worked wonders for her at 10 days old and she was on it till about 15 months...we just had to get her weighed regularly to adjust the doses. Abby is a month old...has the same reflux issues except the Zantac hasnt worked and now the Previcid isnt working. We have to take her monday to see a pediatric GI dr. WTF?!?! I was hoping my first was a fluke thing...
Avatar n tn A child who takes 5 ml of the 250mg/5ml dose, for example, is receiving 250 mg of amoxicillin. The recommended pediatric dosage varies from 25 mg/kg per day to 45 mg/kg per day, depending on the underlying infection, according to Rx List. The suspension should be shaken well and measured with a marked measuring spoon to ensure that the right dose is given. Regular silverware should not be used to measure medication doses, warns Drugs.com.
Avatar m tn He asked if she started any new meds, she has recently started Zantac OTC 75mg per her pediatric GI specialist at Riley Childrens Hospital for stomach issues. We thought perhaps a side effect?? Her GI says she hasn't heard of that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Avatar f tn My daughter is 5 yrs old. She has been having abdominal pain, stomach aches for over a year and it is getting worse. She's on 75 mg of zantac twice a day and it doesn't really seem to help. She had an abdominal ultrasound and it came back normal, so they did an upper G.I. It showed a pelvic mass about 1cm by 1 cm.
1330108 tn?1333677304 Started Zantac today and baby seems better BF 2x no problem but the last BF she ate until she overflowed. Is this normal? Any suggestions?
3055148 tn?1368211800 I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?
3055148 tn?1368211800 Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.
Avatar m tn My OB said to try Zantac for the possibility of acid reflux. The pain is just tremendous. There has to be something stronger then Tylenol to take and is taking 6 to 8 pills of Tylenol a day even OK?
Avatar f tn My 18 week old baby girl has gerd although zantac has taken away the pain and carobel somewhat helps the vomiting. She is only 11lb 4oz and is in the 2nd centile. She only takes 4 5oz bottles of nutramigen 1 each day and when I try to give her more she just vomits it up due to her reflux. However she has extreme flatulence at night from 11pm right through until 7am. It is constance, is foul smelling and doesnt stop with the result neither she nor I sleep.
Avatar n tn I have a Very active 4yr old (can't sit still) who toe walks (he has day & night time afo's --both feet/ankle) he is smart & has a great sense of humor. He seems to lack focus if it isn't self initiated. Has a hard time "living in the moment" & constantly thinking about what he will do next instead of focusing on what he's doing now. (a lot of the times). Easily distracted & doesn't concentrate too long.
Avatar f tn The dosage is low for me so I take one in the morning with breakfast and the next one I take it for dinner. Tums does not work for me either. Milk helps me when I run out of my meds. Just be alittle more cautious with what you eat that way you can monitor what gives you heartburn.
Avatar f tn My Dr said that zantac was ok just make sure its the lowest dosage you can get
Avatar m tn Those are safe for him at 1/2 human adult dose. Simethicone (the active ingredient in gas-x) also comes in a pediatric form. If you get the pediatric form dose to effect. Hiccups are due to spasms of the diaphragm, however and getting rid of gas may not be effective, but it is worth a try.

Avatar f tn He does have heartburn sometimes for which a pediatric GI doc prescribed Zantac He only has to take Zantac on occasion. He is small for his age (idiopathic constitutional growth delay).A few days ago,he began to complain of feeling achy& tired.Snce there have been some viruses circulating at school,I assumed he just picked up a cold virus.Yesterday he went to school, shortly after getting off of the bus,he fainted in the hallway.
Avatar n tn We are in NC and fortunately have been referred to a great pediatric Endo at Duke. I have seen mention of Pediatric Endo at Texas Childrens Hospital (not sure how far that is for you). We will be starting medication as soon as our local pharmacy can get it in. I hope she responds well. I have been looking into the possibility of Thyroidectomy or Radioiodine Treatment if indicated.

Avatar n tn I started taking Zantac 150 and it seemed okay but I started have occasional nausea and sharp pains in the stomach area. My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain!
