Common Questions and Answers about Zantac long term effects

zantac

Avatar f tn I was born with acid relfex and I've had it my whole life, the doctor I had when I was a baby overdosed me on zantac which caused me to have pulmonary, lung, and more stomach issues. So I'm wondering could that have long term effects because I'm still dependent on medicine to keep me from being sick and I wanted to know if there is cause for a malpractice suit?

Avatar f tn BUT, I have to take it or I am in pain. So try not to worry so much about the long term effects when you are trying to survive today. If you are worried about this I would talk to my doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and there may be something they can do differently. Just dont stop any seizure med without a doctors help. Hope you feel better..
Avatar m tn I have no symptoms and feel great; I am 54 and wondering if HEP C would kill me or if the treatment could cause long term effects that could ruin my health. The longest living male in my family was my father 86 and had slow progressive dementia the last 10 years.
692001 tn?1236562462 I didn’t even start taking omeprazole until 2015, and my doctor did not say anything about long-term use and the side effects from it. Given all of the symptoms I’m going through I’m pretty sure my system has a really hard time absorbing any nutrients from food or supplements. I can’t sleep I sweat a lot, my skin is horrible my scalp is horrible. I have horrible mouth sores sometimes. And I know this is all from vitamin deficiencies. As well as some thyroid issues but the point is obvious.
Avatar m tn Have you ever considered going to see a holistic practitioner or a naturopathic doctor? In the long run you might have better success and do less long term damage to your body. Wishing you the best.
Avatar n tn In addition to what LivinginHope said first and then I wanted to add I was on Zantac 150 for about 4 months and I had no side effects at all. I have a benign arrhythmia (PACS) and so it depends on the person and if you take it long term. I have to go back on it again. But my doctor said not to stay on it all the time. Rather, to stay on it for a while then go off and on. But, I would definitely report this to your doc.
Avatar m tn dont be too scared as said above few people experience sides but one thing is for sure long term use for decades is not healthy and only cirrhosis or severe damaged liver can justify such use so i'd definitely combo with other therapies so that nucs can be used short term from latest easl conference we have now tests for sustained immune control of hbv cccdna equal or less than 5 copies/cell we now need an hbsag level equal to 5copies/cell, mybe hbsag 500iu/ml
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start taking Zantac everyday which I am worried about due to possible long term effects of this medicine. I have myself convinced that I have some kind of cancer in my throat or neck but my doctor assures me if that was the case it would have gotten much worse by now since I have been feeling this on and off for at least 2-3 years. I suppose that makes sense but I'm a worry wart when it comes to health stuff. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Avatar f tn i wonder did a doctor tell you you had multiple chemical sensitivites....
Avatar f tn I'm recovering from an abscessed tooth. Mine developed 3 weeks ago and 2 days lator I had to have an Endodonist drain it on an emergency basis because the swelling was already moving up to my eye. I was told to get the tooth extracted because of my medical condition (Type 1 Diabetic). After I got it drained my dentist put me on 4,000mg of Amoxicillin a day becasue I had to get rid of the infection and the swelling had to continue to go down before he extracted the tooth.

Avatar n tn org--so, can anyone out there, by chance, please point me to some good information on the potential long-term side effects of cisplatin, adriamycin (a.ka. "the red devil") and cytoxan? Blessings to you all.
Avatar m tn My question that has been difficult to find an answer to, relates to long term effects. I have not been able to find at least an approximate length of time or dosages that can lead to eventual liver cancer in the future. I am currently 26 years old, in relatively good shape physically, do not drink or have any other vices that may exacerbate the vicodin effects on my liver, but am still concerned.
Avatar n tn Though I am not addicted and have not used the drug in two years, I am worried about the damage I sustained during this one year period when I would abuse the drug, infrequently, but heavily nonetheless. If anyone has information about long-term effects for short-term, heavy abuse of Robitussin (8 instances of over-dosing on 40 gel-cap pills per instance) I'd love to hear it. Thanks for your comment.
Avatar n tn I have read all the side effects but it is hard finding anything on the severe long term effects of taking this drug. Does anyone know a link or maybe some answers?
Avatar f tn Neither the difficulty purging or mucus build-up sounds like long-term effects of bulimia. It would be good to have the medical doctor check for any possible long-term effects that might be specific to you.
