zantac how to take

I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime. The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax last november.

now after decades of use and people getting cancer they are now testing it... My question is how long after you take this Zantac will it take for cancer to appear ?

I take Ranitidine 150mg at least once a day. I had my OB prescribe it to me but you can get it over the counter.

I've had to tale rolaids and or tums due to heartburn.....I did it with my daughters pregnancy and had no issues with her......pregnant with another girl and I've had to take them to help again.....

My doctor told me to take pepsid. It works amazing! I have horrible heartburn with my pregnancy but pepsid takes it away instantly. Hope you get some relief soon.

I had to give up my proton inhibitor because it might interfere with absorption of one of the drugs. But even with Zantac I have to be careful to take it 10 hours before and 2 hours after dosing with the study drugs. I find that the only way it will help me is if I do not take it near the time of eating. So I try to take it more than an hour after and at least a half hour before eating. I also have to take 150 mg tabs. All of this creates a logistical nightmare.

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

What can I take .do to get rid of heartburn..besides tums or milk..I hate it &have a lot from drinking water..but I'm so thirsty..or what better to drink ?

Tums, zantac or papaya pills are safe... tums arent strong enough for me and papaya pills worked in the beginning but the heartburn got too strong...

Yeah you can take zantac and a few other acid relievers just ask your ob which ones are ok to take Walmart has genarics of all of them

I am taking Carafate for a gastric erosion with gastritis. All of the ppi medicines failed to help. How long should it take to see an improvement in symptoms with Carafate? I've only been on it for 4 days so far. I usually have pain everyday and have been dealing with this for about a year now.

try some SLIPPRY ELM POWDER get it from a health store. Mix a teaspoon in some water till it smoothes out like a runny paste and gulp it down. Doesn't taste real good but you get used to it. When you have a bad flareup take it before each meal for a couple of days. Works for me and it's not a drug so can't do any harm.

I'm not sure it will work right away, but I think the goal is after taking it a few times, it starts to reduce the acid buildup, which will then help the swallowing. I had an ulcer and was having the same issue. Took about 3-4 days of consistent use and then I could really tell the difference. Some of them, like Zantac, you do take beforehand. Just depends on the medication.

My doctor refused a referal to a Pediatric GI specialist, and refused to switch from Zantac to a PPI. I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!! This is starting to seriously interfere with my life, and work. Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.

My Dr prescribed Zantac 75mg and they did nothing for me. I had to take two. Now he changed the dose to 150mg and they seem to be working most of the time. When they don't, I drink milk and try to sit up. Laying down makes it worst. Hope you feel better!

My daughter was born at 35 weeks 1 day gestation. She is now 19 days old. She does not cry for food and she suffers from GERD. The drs said feed on demand but then said small frequent meals. How much how often should she be eating? I'm waking her every 2 hours to feed and giving her 2oz pumped breastmilk. When breastfeeding she eats until it all comes back.

I stopped taking the pills cause it said that prolonged magnesium deficiency can cause serious heart problems. Since then I take Zantac, it does next to nothing even though I take 4 maximum strengths a day, and I pop tums all day, but the heart palpitations have gone away. Not really sure what my next move is going to be. Maybe after 6 months of this I can go back to the protonx for a while.

H2 Blockers like Zantac can make some people drowsy, so if Zantac does that to you, then you are likely to be even more drowsy combined with Xanax. I would check with your GI doc. He will be more familiar with how Zantac, Nexium, and Xanax react to one another. Your pharmacist is also a good person to ask. Good luck.
