Avatar f tn You can take Zantac 75 it is amazing, it last for 12 hours. My acid reflux was so bad it was waking me up during the middle of the night choking and vomiting.
99627 tn?1301270952 Doctor diagnosed him with Acid Reflux and put him on Zantac. He has been also having blood in his poop sometimes. Today he had some blood again. I have cut out all the diary products from my diet. He does not have bloody poop all the time, just about 4 times since he was born. He is 3,5 month now and exclusively breastfed. Has any of your babies had this. I am really worried, but doctor did not seem very concerned.
906115 tn?1344200509 it was dealing with the correlation between hiccups in the womb and reflux. a lot of women were saying that their reflux babies had hiccups very often in utero. this could be a pattern. ariana definitely hiccuped ALL the time when i was prego (like multiple times a day) and has reflux.. ?
Avatar f tn if i may chime in... did you nurse and pump or only pump? It is possible your supply tanked simply because some people don't respond well to pumps, or you didn't have a good pump (hospital grade), or you didn't pump frequently enough (15 minutes every 2 hours). Like Peek said, it could've been totally out of your hands. I know someone who tried every pump under the sun but couldn't get a drop. When her son finally learned to nurse months later, she had plenty to nourish him.
Avatar f tn My two year old had reflux really bad was less than 5th percentile until she hit about 15 months...luckily Zantac worked wonders for her at 10 days old and she was on it till about 15 months...we just had to get her weighed regularly to adjust the doses. Abby is a month old...has the same reflux issues except the Zantac hasnt worked and now the Previcid isnt working. We have to take her monday to see a pediatric GI dr. WTF?!?! I was hoping my first was a fluke thing...
7349088 tn?1390657733 I take Zantac 150 once a day as prescribed by my Dr. I've had terrible acid reflux and it seems to be helpful. It's safe ..my neighbor gives her 4 month old baby zantac for silent reflux as prescribed by her pediatrician.
Avatar f tn The doctor wound up having me take Prilosec OTC. It was the only thing that worked for me. My daughter suffered from horrible acid reflux from birth until she outgrew it at 18 months. I know genetics play a huge role in acid reflux...but I always wondered if having to use Prilosec during pregnancy caused part of my daughter's reflux? I am only 12 weeks and already have heartburn...I'm suffering but scared to even use Tums!
Avatar f tn I had acid reflux even before pregnancy. My doctor recommended zantac during my first two trimesters. It worked pretty well. Now there is just no room for my stomach, so he had me switch to prevacid, and I eat bland foods to keep it under control. I never recommend taking anything without asking, though. That way your doctor can explain the risks if there are any.
284738 tn?1283106819 Get the book, WHY STOMACH ACID IS GOOD FOR YOU. Spitting up is pretty normal for most babies up to 6 months. Also agreed that reflux can be triggered by allergies like in cow's milk formula and soy. A good one if you have to go with formula is neocate or nannycare goat milk formula. Reflux meds do not correct the problem but make it worse. The problem is poor digestion...he needs MORE acid, NOT less!
1628088 tn?1299532090 Hi, my son is 1 month 1/2 old and suffers from reflux. His pediatrician put him on zantac about 2 weeks ago and now again 2 days ago. I'm not seeing much improvements since he is still spitting up and sometimes it just goes back down. I also feel that he has had colic, since he cries out of no where with such a great force. I was mostly breastfeeding and he was drinking formula (similac advance) as well but maybe just about 2 oz. every other feeding.
Avatar n tn Our six-month old son is having a hard time staying asleep in his crib. He has Acid Reflux and has been taking Zantac for the past three weeks; he doesn't like taking even Zantac with flavoring and ends up taking a little over half of what we give him. My wife has had him in a consistent nighttime routine for the past few months: feeding (he started solids just about a month ago and has really taken to it), followed by bath time, followed by nursing with Mom, then he goes down.
1448936 tn?1363206346 I've raised my head at night. I haven't tried prevacid or prilosec. My doc prescribed me zantac in august so I've continued using it. I may try one of those to see if I get any relief because the zantac really isn't working.
Avatar f tn I do take meds for reflux and have been taking zantac , just wondering if this is part of the normal process
Avatar n tn I’m alternating Pepcid for two weeks with Zantac for two weeks for GI inflammation. The FDA has dialed back a bit on the Zantac issue. Not sure I trust that, but it was never an extremely concerning report. If Pepcid continues to work I’ll ask my doctor if I can take it regularly.
Avatar f tn My daughter kept aspirating so they had to thickenher milk by adding rice cereal to her formula and also giving her zantac. Zantac works well for acid reflux she's able to eat without spitting up. Everything will be fine .
5624774 tn?1374284525 Neither of my 2 would take the breast so they had formula from birth and my 2nd had reflux so she had to have a milk for hungry babies to fill her up as she was sick after every bottle until she was about 5 months old x
889551 tn?1416184483 Did you notice any improvements with the zantac? Before the zantac did she have signs of *acid* reflux (screaming when burping, arching back in pain, etc....?) I ask because some doctors do prescribe zantac when there aren't signs of a problem with acid, only spitting up. Normally, you wouldn't have to wake the baby to eat. However, if she truly has reflux, she may be refusing to eat because of that. Or, like I said, it could be because of the rice.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have really bad acid reflux to the point where i can't even help my son with his shoes because i get sick.
Avatar n tn my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..
Avatar n tn I kept it with my first and it's starting with my 2nd. I just plan on it staying around again. I rake Zantac 150 in the morning and night.
280369 tn?1316702041 I probably asked this before, but is taking zantac on a daily basis or a few times a week a bad thing in pregnancy? I'm just about 32 weeks and have had the worst acid reflux this pregnancy and have tried every natural thing out there. For a while, just drinking grapefruit juice got rid of it, but now it does nothing. Tums have even stopped working. I am not one to take medicines or pop a pill unless I absolutely have to, and that's pregnant or not pregnant.
594189 tn?1386916607 Babies love to suck and can take more from a bottle than they need because they like to suck and the milk comes out so easy. 3oz is a normal intake for that age, but every baby is different. Have you tried giving her a pacifier after 3 ounces or after the 1st bottle. It is also possible that she has reflux. Babies can confuse stomach pains for hunger. Does she spit up a lot, squirm when eating, arch her back often, get fussy - especially in the evening, or drool a lot?
