zantac for ibs

I went to my doctor and she thinks it is esopogal spasms so she told me to take Zantac 150 twice a day and gave me levsin for an anti spasmstic I already take librax which I think is the same kind of thing for my ibs. She did not see any reason to do an EKG as she does not think it is my heart she is going to do a sonogram of my gallbladder though even though I am not having any pain in that area.

You can take over the counter Zantac before eating. How often do you eat spicy food? Because if it bugs your stomach, I'd really suggest not eating it often. That can lead to stomach problems. If the Zantac doesn't help, try seeing a doctor. I take Nexium and Zantac (Ranitdine) and that doesn't always help, but I don't have the greatest stomach.

s, have been on nexium and zantac and am mostly constipated (wondering if I have IBS-C?) For some reason, I am petrified of having pancreatic cancer and worry that the back pain could be this. Two weeks ago, I ate and drank horribly one night and since then, I have had a flare up where all my symptoms are not just nocturnal. I also had major complains until about 1 year ago about sort of IBS attacks which were very severe, treatment with acupuncture proved to be very helpful for me to deal with the IBS and actually I have almost no IBS attacks since I begun with the acupuncture. Still I suffer a lot from the pain in the upper-middle point of the abdominal.

In November Doc put me on 40 mg Prilosec one daily and it causes me to feel terrible, anxious etc. we changed to 20mg 2x daily and Zantac 150 1x daily and the cough resolves within a week but I had globus, phlegm, sore throat...typical LPR symptoms. GI doc did an upper endoscopy in January that looked pretty normal with the exception of candida on the 6 areas she biopsies.

I had a ctscan which showed normal and the doctor put me on anti-spasmatic meds saying it os IBS. Is anyone elae in the same boat? am i going to have to live that this the rest of my life?! Any suggestons on what else it could be.

IBS may begin after an infection (post-infectious, IBS-PI) or a stressful life event. Please do colonoscopy and endoscopy to rule out the sickness your family members had in past. It proven as fact that some illness get transferred genetically but might not effect first/second generation and symptoms might only be seen in third or fourth all other way around. Colonoscopy will rule out worms, parasites and other bacterias.Endoscopy will rule out obstructions, gallbladder problems,reflux disease.

but im thinking of trying zantac for her the least doisage possible just to cjeck if it will reduce the spitting and the crankiness after feeds, but i also don't want her tummy to get used to it since my self i have been on omeprazole for years and can't live without it.. it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor.

(I had my Gallbladder removed 2 years ago) When i told my GI of my concern, he said that he sees nothing alarming with those symptoms and that it is probably just my IBS worsening. I have had IBS a long time and have never had these symptoms. He said i may have cought an infection that worsened the IBS as a result. Sigh, No definitive answers. I have no idea if my sickness has anything to do with my worsened stomach problems. The cough really concerns me.

Hi all, I have a question about Prilosec. I usually take it almost on a daily basis or when I know I'm going to be very busy. I was told in the summer 2006 that I had IBS and heartburn. I noticed that my diarrhea seemed to slow down when I started Prilosec so I always feel safe taking it because it makes me regular or so I think. I think I might be pregnant now and don't know the effects of take prilosec now? Does anyone know about prilosec and pregnancy?

Hello, Stress and diet are the strong causes of aggravation of your symptoms of IBS. Alterations in diet, for eg: gradual addition of more fibre in your diet like whole grain breads, green leafy vegetables & fruits can ease your symptoms. Also avoid cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, beans and lentils as they tend to increase the gassiness. Caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee) aerated drinks, fried and spicy foods should be avoided.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

I tried taking Riopan and Gaviscon in December and January without success because they caused a nausea and a burning tongue. Then I had one pill of Zantac 75mg and I suffered hard from abdominal cramps for one day and a burning tongue for 7! Etc..etc...

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

You can have a gluten sensitivity (that can go along with IBS) and not have celiac disease. However if you are going to have bloodwork for celiac disease or an endoscopy with biopsies for celiac disease, you would want to start eliminating all gluten after you complete these.

My daughter is 15 yrs. old and for the past 6 months she has been having these symptoms and I don't know if I should have her see her doctor. Symptoms: feels sick after eating a small portion of food, abdominal pains, bloating, fatigue, feels nause without vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach growls alot, she gets hungry and loses her appetite. My daughter kept aspirating so they had to thickenher milk by adding rice cereal to her formula and also giving her zantac. Zantac works well for acid reflux she's able to eat without spitting up. Everything will be fine .

Alright, I am at my wits end! I'm a generally happy person and I honestly feel depressed from all of this. It's been 3 months that 10 drs have no idea whats wrong with me. It all started with pain in my very low left side. Almost a twisting/stabbing pain. Then it turned into a burning pain on the lower left side of my pubic bone. Had an ultrasound, CT scan, MR, stool cultures, blood tests, pelvic exams, you name it. All negative.

Your docs probably told you that. But I took aciphex for 10 years, and had IBS for 30 years and no doctor ever told me to stop consuming gluten.
