Common Questions and Answers about Zantac dosage newborns

zantac

Avatar n tn my body adjusted and it stopped working. OB recommended Zantac 150 and it only works for like 3 hours each 12 hour dose. I know the heartburn is 90% giant baby (and I mean giant...my kids are 11lb newborns) pushing on my stomach causing this but I need something to get through the next 28 days.

Avatar n tn my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..
Avatar n tn I'm a nanny and have looked after many newborns, plenty with reflux, with which the 5 wk old I now care for has been diagnosed. We are trying him with all the usual treatments, - gaviscon, omeprozole, zantac, domperidon... you name it...- and he is responding to non of these, which is quite normal, some babies don't and just have to suffer til they grow out of it, and we can help as much as poss keeping them upright etc.
1330108 tn?1333677304 Started Zantac today and baby seems better BF 2x no problem but the last BF she ate until she overflowed. Is this normal? Any suggestions?

3055148 tn?1368211800 Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Avatar m tn My OB said to try Zantac for the possibility of acid reflux. The pain is just tremendous. There has to be something stronger then Tylenol to take and is taking 6 to 8 pills of Tylenol a day even OK?
Avatar f tn The dosage is low for me so I take one in the morning with breakfast and the next one I take it for dinner. Tums does not work for me either. Milk helps me when I run out of my meds. Just be alittle more cautious with what you eat that way you can monitor what gives you heartburn.
Avatar f tn My Dr said that zantac was ok just make sure its the lowest dosage you can get
Avatar n tn I started taking Zantac 150 and it seemed okay but I started have occasional nausea and sharp pains in the stomach area. My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain!
Avatar n tn while it maybe a tradition in india you would be hard pressed to find anyone from a medical/pediatrican/breastfeeding position that would reccomend this or advise it, nope, no-way
2006603 tn?1331329327 ) on Sept 12th in a 30 day supply to see if it helped, well while trying to get it in a dropper to give to him i accidently dropped the bottle and spilled about a week and a halfs worth of it ( i feel horrible about it ) well his doc upped his dosage 2 days ago and i asked the doc today to call in a refill for me since i spilled it and was pretty much out of it.
Avatar f tn Just a question....has anyone out there had a thyroidectomy and then actually felt really good forever thereafter? I'm going on a year now and I have months of greatness but then it always ends and I'm back to feeling poorly again. I don't know if it's my medicine or what. My dosage of Synthroid was decreased to 137 from 150 because I was feeling just horrific several months ago. I begged my endo to decrease it and he reluctantly agreed.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
877337 tn?1249844450 I went back on my Zantac and after a few days it subsided. Now my Meth. dosage has been increased to three times a day and I have noticed that feeling come back/increase. Its odd though. It only happens shortly after I take my Meth. Truthfully it makes me wonder if it is working instantly on the thyroid, since I am only having this feeling in this area. Additional antacids aren't touching it. Has anybody else experienced this? Maybe its just a form of heartburn from the med. Hmm...
Avatar m tn I would recommend empiric treatment with an over-the-counter antacids such as Prilosec or Zantac. If you have not had laryngoscopy by an ENT, this would also be helpful in such an evaluation.
