Avatar f tn I had preeclamsia at the end of my pregnancy, and was placed on a beta blocker (labelolol 200 mg bid). I also pumped, but after about 3 weeks, my supply died. Did the beta blocker have that effect on my milk or was it my diet? I also wondered if my taking prilosec had any effect on my son's acid reflux? Ok, so it was two questions. Any other advice about infant acid reflux are definitely appreciated!
Avatar n tn but im thinking of trying zantac for her the least doisage possible just to cjeck if it will reduce the spitting and the crankiness after feeds, but i also don't want her tummy to get used to it since my self i have been on omeprazole for years and can't live without it.. it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor.
Avatar f tn Prevacid generally does not come in small enough dosages or under 15mg which is considered a high dose for infants under 6 months of age. 15mg is usually broken into several dosages throughout a 24 hour period so that the infant is not consuming a high amount at one time. *This was the information I was given from my Pediatric GI. I would seriously think about talking to your childs GI about this information if your child is on Prevacid.
Avatar f tn I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor...they actually have me on prilosec and it's amazing for the acid/heartburn (prilosec is a class C drug, zantac is a little safer as a class B, but didn't work for me) but unfortunately I still wake up chocking on stomach content if I eat or drink after 5pm (it just doesn't burn like before)...
Avatar f tn what dosage of oxycontin should you give a child undre the age of 18? I'm writing a paper on it.
Avatar n tn s condition. Someone there should be able to at least answer a few questions for you from her chart. Take care and keep us posted on how she is doing.

Avatar f tn i did opt for the rectal therm because it seems to be the most accurate for infants and i got the warm mist humidifier. do you think warm or cool is better? Ill make sure if I get the vapor rub its for infants!
11278126 tn?1419304633 Tums or Zantac. I exceeded the daily dosage on Tums so my doctor told me to take Zantac Maximum Strenghth.
Avatar n tn During the first six months of life, infants should not get more than 1,000 IU of vitamin D daily, while the daily dosage of vitamin D for infants up to 12 months old should not exceed 1,500 IU. The tolerable upper intake level for vitamin D for toddlers younger than 4 years old and young children between 4 and 8 years old are 2,500 IU and 3,000 IU, respectively. Anyone age 9 or older should not get more than 4,000 IU of vitamin D in a day. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar n tn National Library of Medicine, amoxicillin is available in a pediatric drop form for infants. Each ml of this bubble-gum flavored liquid contains 50 mg of amoxicillin, states Rx List. Babies under the age of 3 months receive 30 mg of amoxicillin each day for every 2.2 lb. of body weight, according to Rx List. Pediatric drops can be placed directly in the mouth or mixed with baby formula, juice or water, notes Drugs.com.
Avatar f tn 1) Dosage of medications per day, as this helps the P. (and myself) to evaluate the effect on a certain amount, raise or lowering of dosage of each medication. Would it be possible to add Amitriptiline as AD? 2) A way to link the Sleep Tracker with my Mood Tracker, as sleep seems to have a lot of incidence on bipolar, it's regularity and amount ... leading to hypomania for instance.
Avatar f tn Regular staph aureus is everywhere. Are you asking about the drug resistant variety MRSA? In the ER we swab inside the nostrils to culture for it. It's detected right away. If you come back positive, your chart is flagged and the staff is alerted to use Contact Isolation procedures. But being colonized with MRSA does not mean you are going to get sick. If you are healthy and practice good hygiene there shouldn't be a problem.
403156 tn?1290150018 For the mood chart, it would be nice to have the option to add medications ourselves. There are so many different meds out there, the list provided doesn't cover them all, and it would be hard to keep up with them. The option should be to enter the name of the med ourselves. The tracker is great, but more med options is needed. Is this function already there and I am not seeing it?
1194973 tn?1385503904 I have a wellness pack with differentn things in it, It says children on it but is for babies also and the dosage for infants is on the bottle. Herny got a runny nose not sure if it was teeth or cold starting but it was gone in two days and never got worse. I love Wish Garden stuff! All natural and ot works fast without taking them around other sick kids at the dr. OH and you need a humidifier mroe then a vaporisor. They are cool mist and do not casue mold as easy.
1330108 tn?1333677304 Hey I just saw in your intro post that your little girl has GERD. My baby girl also has it. Zantac didn't work for her so now she is on Prevacid. We have her in our room yet to sleep because I am afraid to put her in her room in case she spits up and has one of her "choking" episodes. I am not sure what you are using for her to sleep in but we just got a fishcer price rock and play which is amazing. It was recommended by her MD and we love it. She sleeps so good in it.
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.
Avatar f tn Changing my diet and when I eat never helped me. So I took the extra strength Tums which helped for 10 minutes. The only thing that's saved me is Zantac (safeway brand). Both tums and Zantac are safe for baby. If you're curious about other brands ask the pharmacist. They have a chart of what you can and can't take during pregnancy!
1330108 tn?1333677304 She does not cry for food and she suffers from GERD. The drs said feed on demand but then said small frequent meals. How much how often should she be eating? I'm waking her every 2 hours to feed and giving her 2oz pumped breastmilk. When breastfeeding she eats until it all comes back.
3055148 tn?1368211800 Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.
Avatar n tn My doctor is telling me to give my 7 year old Zantac for a kidney infection, but I can't find any information on whether or not this is a proper treatment- I just want to be sure??
Avatar n tn am also very sorry to hear your daughter's story. It is a very familiar one to me. My 16 year old daughter starting vomiting after her second feeding at birth and did not stop until she had a j-tube(feeding tube) surgically placed in her small bowel at age 8. Her case is very severe obviously, but I do know how you feel. Raising the head of her bed does help to a degree. The Zantac will take about 2 weeks to really start to help her.
