zantac dogs

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Pepcid AC is JUST an acid reducer....Pepcid Complete is an Acid reducer PLUS an Anti-Acid (Like a Rolaid or Tums).....Though they both will work, the COMPLETE is not prescribed long term because of the Anti-acid which is basically Calcium.....Something like 800 mg., which is way too high for a dog IF you are feeding a complete diet.....Too much Calcium is dangerous long term.....Hope that helps.....

Some dogs just have acid reflux as some people do, so pepcid or zantac would lower the acid and stop the relfux. If she has inflammatory bowel disease a low residue diet would be a good choice. This is a prescription food, that your veterinarian should have.

He has seen the vet and been described the suspension medicinesac (zantac and antepsin) and injections(cerenia solution and metoclopramide) I know that his kidneys are ok, stomach distended sometimes,but accepting water occasionally now but will not accept any type of food the the same or different. Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.

Vet stopped her pain oral pain relief in case that was upsetting her tummy and gave her a pain killer jab and a zantac jab for her tummy. She also prescribed paste to be given by mouth to restore the natural balance in her bowel/tummy. She started panting/whinging/groaning all night on Sat & Sun. Contacted out of hours vet who suggested giving her paracetamol. She has been passing blood in her urine.

This morning she was playing with other dogs but around 10am she threw up a good bit. No big deal. She went to sleep and I went out for a few hours. She did not throw up at all when I was gone and was just sleeping on the couch. About 30 minutes after I got back she threw up two smaller amount, but the bile was reddish with blood. I took her outside and she did her business, but nothing our of the ordinary there. Her stool was firm and no blood in that. She urinated without any problem.

I took Zantac because I had gastritis symptoms. Now I hear that Zantac causes cancer and wished I never went to pills for relief. How long does it take for cancer to appear after you've taken Zantac? I've heard the NDMA in Zantac causes full body cancers in every organ.... This seems like a intentionally made drug to induce cancer.

Yep, prednisone (long-term) can cause diabetes both in humans and dogs. One of our dogs (a Toy Fox Terrier) was on prednisone for about 8 months due to health problems including allergies, he developed diabetes, and now is on insulin and a low-carbohydrate diet. (I think it's more likely in dogs to cause diabetes, I was on prednisone at high doses from 2-14 years old and I have some long-term side effects that do remain but I don't have diabetes.) Have you tried adjusting her diet?

Hi......Zantac is not an antidepressant it's prescribed for heartburn. Is there another medication she's been prescribed that maybe you got confused with the Zantac?

Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!
