zantac and weight gain

5 months and weighs 23lbs and is 26.5 inches long. Should I be concerned about his weight? He has Silent Reflux and is on Zantac twice a day and Prevacid once a day. It seems like he eats and eats because he is in pain. What can I do to help him not gain so much weight?

My daughter age 15 was diagnosed with GERD after several months of pain and testing. She has been on Prevacid and Zantac for a month now. She has been pain free since starting her meds. Although in the past month she has gained 10 lbs. Has anyone else suffered from this? We eat a mostly vegetarian diet. She swims a hour 4x a week. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Let me know if you find anything out. I have identical problems. Weight gain,heart burn,constipation and I'm in the Dr office now bps is 126/98 and my pulse was 99. I will also share with you anything I find out.

and just a FYI- the change in weight whether u gain or lose can affect ur reflux.....and other meds can also add to the issue..... had my gallbladder out 7 weeks ago. felt fine the first two weeks and ate everything i wanted. then problems started and dctr said it was acid reflux. put me on priolosac and gained 4 lbs. the first week (on a low fat diet and eating nothing practically) Then tried without it on apple vinegar pills and beano before meals. had some relief but not all the time. monday he put me on aciphex and i had severe headaches and sweating, but it cleared up acid reflux right away.

I had resection April 2017 and have rapid weight gain. I too know how to duet and lose weight, but nothing is working. I am back problems so take 300 mg zantac per day so the pan meds will not kill my stomach. There has got to bc a solution. I just wish I could find it. It is very depressing.

After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. When the doctors came in that afternoon I asked them to give it a try. After a bit of condescending attitude on the doctor's part, he said, well, it can't hurt her so if that's what you want we will give it a try. It has now been a week since she was released from the hospital and so far, so good.

I take galavson and it works well but that's only for when I get heartburn and mine is so severve I don't wanna wait till it hits I want to prevent it.

I'm 14 weeks with my third and is never had anything like this when pregnant but I'm exactly the same way everything I eat comes up and not usually from naseua at all I just get these bad stomach pains after I eat and it makes me puke I can't keep anything down for more then an hour and if I try to just drink water that's when I feel soo naseuas and it comes right back up to I've tried Zantac and everything I can think of but I have no idea what it is I'm also on diclecti

ve put weight on but dunno whether this is just caused by my poor eating habits, and the top half of my stomach seems bloated looking, again this could be cause of my weight gain. Ive had anti-biotics and they didnt work.

She has poor weight gain and is simply miserable most of the time. Is it possible that the blood test for food allergies or gluten allergy could be wrong? Is there any other tests that might help figure out what is going on?

We stayed with a friend who is Labor and deliver nurse and she agreed with me that Saraya probably had reflux..so I called when we got home and DR called in zantac and said to add cereal to her bottles and said if it didnt help to bring her in this week...didnt work so back we went...the good news is she didn't pick up anything while we were gone and even with all the puking still gained weight(her dreams of being a runway model are fading fast LOL ) so I guess i just have a pukey baby.

I only know because I had a cousin who had that and when my baby niece was sick, my mom was concerned it was the same thing. No weight gain or having weight loss can also be a sign of CF. Let me know how it goes, All the best.

But my main concern is her weight gain with this ever since age 3 she has kept all her weight in her belly and she is now 74 lbs and just under 4 feet tall now dont get me wrong she is a big girl (her dad is 6'7 and i am 5'8) .But she has a prutruding belly...I was just wondering if anyone else out there had these same issues or any ideas.(also want to add she is very active plays softball,always outside,swimming,ect.

Hello, my daughter is 16 months old (13 corrected). She was born at 25 weeks but is doing excellent. She weights 22lbs. The problem is that when we feed her (she's on solids with some purées and the pouches), she will start coughing to the point of throwing up. Her nose also seems to get runny. She will also at times throw up when we initially put her to bed. She'll lay down be asleep, wake up crying and throw up. It's very stressful and concerning.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Recently due to my recent unemployment status, yes I have been stressed, worried, scared, and I am 52 - menopause is present. yep just after meals hes fine before eating, ive been on to his school he has loads of mates settled very well in to high school he loves it there,hes the same as usual but with the sickness, hes been like this now nearly 3 weeks and i am pretty worried the zantac isnt doing much good.

I have had the same problem for 17 years. My problem is acid reflux and when my esophagus gets really inflamed, that's how it affects me. My food has that "stuck" feeling. It has gotten bad again within the last 6 months. I'm getting ready to have my 3rd EGD next week just to make sure my esophagus doesn't need to be dilated because that can sometimes happen after years of acid reflux.

I went off of it Aug 20, 2015 and intended to go off cold turkey but read your post and others that do not recommend this. I am going to get Zantac and then slowly get off of it. my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..
