You can take over the counter Zantac before eating. How often do you eat spicy food? Because if it bugs your stomach, I'd really suggest not eating it often. That can lead to stomach problems. If the Zantac doesn't help, try seeing a doctor. I take Nexium and Zantac (Ranitdine) and that doesn't always help, but I don't have the greatest stomach.

The last year it has gotten worse where I occasionally wake up with back and throat pain but it is quickly resolved by getting up, moving around and taking tums. I have been to many gastro dr.s, have been on nexium and zantac and am mostly constipated (wondering if I have IBS-C?) Pylori negative in stool and blood. Ova and parasite clear and clean. Seems that it is largely tied to a meal/snack and frequent in morning (but not always). Lactose withholding does not seem to help (can eat ice cream just fine). Negative for celiac disease (but potential to confirm via endoscopy). In November Doc put me on 40 mg Prilosec one daily and it causes me to feel terrible, anxious etc. we changed to 20mg 2x daily and Zantac 150 1x daily and the cough resolves within a week but I had globus, phlegm, sore throat...typical LPR symptoms. GI doc did an upper endoscopy in January that looked pretty normal with the exception of candida on the 6 areas she biopsies.

I went to my doctor and she thinks it is esopogal spasms so she told me to take Zantac 150 twice a day and gave me levsin for an anti spasmstic I already take librax which I think is the same kind of thing for my ibs. She did not see any reason to do an EKG as she does not think it is my heart she is going to do a sonogram of my gallbladder though even though I am not having any pain in that area.

I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago because it was not functioning with an ejection fraction of 8 percent. When ot was removed, there was absolutely no stones or sludge and only mild inflammation. Now...3 weeks later, every symptom is back. Nausea, diarrhea, pain in URQ, pain between should blades, etc. I had a ctscan which showed normal and the doctor put me on anti-spasmatic meds saying it os IBS. Is anyone elae in the same boat? am i going to have to live that this the rest of my life?!

Until the results come back the Dr. perscribed zantac and referred my daughter to see a GI. Until then we have to wait and see the outcome. The dr. recommended that my daughter eats alot of fiber foods and to stay away from dairy products.

Your docs probably told you that. But I took aciphex for 10 years, and had IBS for 30 years and no doctor ever told me to stop consuming gluten.

The first Gastroentrologist who ordered a battery of tests (including endoscopy) over a period of 1 year but concluded NOTHING. While I was under his care, I was on prilosec. I have also tried ALIGN ********* which gave me some relief. I was afraid to eat. My symptoms included heartburn and bloating.

(I had my Gallbladder removed 2 years ago) When i told my GI of my concern, he said that he sees nothing alarming with those symptoms and that it is probably just my IBS worsening. I have had IBS a long time and have never had these symptoms. He said i may have cought an infection that worsened the IBS as a result. Sigh, No definitive answers. I have no idea if my sickness has anything to do with my worsened stomach problems. The cough really concerns me.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

t have every symptom. Plus, IBS can come and go on a regular basis, I have it and go for long periods with no symptoms.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Im on Zegerid in the am and zantac in the pm. I started a new plan about the ibc-c and im going every other day. It just feels like the tube where it hits my stomach is cold/chilled. It usually lasts about a few minutes then goes down, but i can feel it chill my stomach as it goes down, but it still kinda feels like i could burp it up. I dont get the burning often, but i get the bloating and pain (sometimes) Lump in throat (sometimes) food is fine, as long as its not tomato based sauce.

I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

t zantac but it is the same ingredient you drop it in a half cup water and it foams up and you quickly drink it. It is OTC. If zantac is safe this should be too. Thanks so much. Also i read that taking any antacid like tums and rolaids can have a reaction with the prozac. Is this true i was too scared to try Tums.

i also have both and am taking prilosec and nothing really for ibs i was told by my doctor it was stress related

Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!
