zantac and hair loss

I had HORRIBLE heartburn my entire pregnancy with my daughter and it's no different this time around.

Am I the only one freaking out about my baby not having hair when he comes out? lol I don't know if it's because I'm obsessed with my own locks or what, but I just really want him to have hair. I think he will because of his dad's origin, but STILL...

The hormone changes soften up the muscles. The heartburn is vicious and doesnt really have anything to do with hair... i wish my babies had hair tgat equalled the amount of heart burn I get.

that Pepcid, Zantac, and Tagamet all list HAIR LOSS as a primary side effect? Here I was blaming the Synthroid and hypo/hashi's, and it was the dang GERD and Pepcid!!! So the question remains, do I want to be comfortable and bald, or have hair and be miserable? ARgh....

^^ during my first and with this one Zantac is my go-to. With my son I don't know how I would have survived the third trimester without it!

I have good luck with a combination of Zyrtek and Zantac. Evidently the combination of the over the counter stomach med Zantac with an antihistimine like Zyrtek is quite a successful combination for allergic reactions, etc. My doc suggested this combination for me once Benadryl stopped helping. I'm doing good with the Zyrtek/Zantac.

I have it sooo bad bit I cant even tell now it got so bad i called my doc and they sent out a script for rantatine sp* generic zantac. Works wonders!!

then Zantac.. then Zantac with tums. All gave temporary relief. I was just prescribed Protonix by my OB and No More Heartburn!!!! Try Zantac 150 mg over the counter first.

I tried mylanta before I got the zantac, I had it prescribed to me because nothing else was working...and the zantac was working up to now...

The symptoms lasted about an hour she did take Zantac and Tums when it first started but it did not help at all. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the cause as I know something must be wrong but we are at a loss?

my doctor prescribed me zantac 75mg and prevacid. Both are helping but little by little.

Mine has been especially bas. I tried Everything, even zantac and tums. Nothing worked. Lately I'll drink a small glass of of water mixed with baking soda and it actually works for me. Tastes real gross and will make you burp.. but it might help.

I've got severe heartburn most of the time, it really is rubbish but I'll see if he really is hairy.. If so I should be expecting my own little chewbacca!

i had to take a zantac in the morning then durring the day tums and then another zantac an hour befor i ate dinner and it still hurt to where i was crying some nights. and you best believe the old wives tell was true for me, my baby had a head full of hair and hasnt lost any of it.

I was popping tums left and right and drinking milk and was gettong barley any releif. I started taking zantac also and HOLY MOLEY its such a relief ! I couldn't believe how good it worked, I thought something like that was to good to be true but its awsome!

Only in the past 20 days, hair fall has gone up. Does hair straightening dry out the hair causing lack of moisture and thus hair fall?? I truly hope that this is temporary as you mentioned!!

I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off

I take 40 mg of prilosec a day and it works amazing

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

ZANTAC, ZANTAC, ZANTAC!!! I started getting it early with this pregnancy too, and at 11 weeks I asked for it because it helped when I was pregnant with Elijah. It's AWESOME!!! I've only had it maybe two times since in the last 3, almost 4 weeks. Try to avoid foods that will make it worse, like tomato sauces, or acidic things like orange juice...I hope it gets better soon!!!

My hair has ALWAYS been so thick and moisturized and healthy and now its dry and frizzy and falling out! Its awful im so embarrassed it literally never stops falling out.
