Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!

for heartburn you can try drinking milk, or medication wise tums and zantac 75mg or 150 up to twice a day is ok to take during pregnancy, personally zantac is what has worked best for me

I'm a 32 years old non-smoking male. On 23rd of January, I started to experience stomach upset and heaty body (37.5 deg C). Thinking that i might have too much of deep fried food, I ignored it and started to drink lots of water. The condition didn't get better on the next day which I started to feel burning sensation in my throat, mouth, esophagus as well as my eyes. My body temperature remained 37.5 deg C. I didn't go to see the doctor but instead drinking lots of water and rest.

So I'm 38 weeks and thru out my pregnancy I have been having heartburn but recently I've had oatmeal for breakfast and I seem to get a bad heartburn afterwards....what can I do or take?

In regards to indigestion, the recommended dose of Zantac is to start off with a 75 mg tablet about 30-60 minutes before eating food or drinking any beverage that cause heartburn. Zantac will help in preventing heartburn. The maximum amount to take in one day is 300 mg (4 tablets of 75 mg or 2 tablets of 150 mg). You should not use it for more the 14 days or on a regular basis unless consulting with a physician.

My gosh its 5 in the morning and I can't sleep because of my heartburn. I took zantac in the after noon yesterday and I didn't take one before I went to bed. But man this is killing me it's horrible. And this baby is so freaking comfortable in my stomach. I feel like she's using my left rib as a blanket. Making mommy in pain.

I take like 5 tums a day and I take zantac when nothing else helps and it usually does the trick, you just have to wait for it to kick in. mine is usually only really bad at night so I take 2 tums before bed and if it doesn't help I take the zantac. my doctor said not to eat and drink at the same time so drink a glass of water before every meal, wait 15-20 minutes then try to eat without drinking anything. I find it really hard to eat without drinking tho.

I have horrible heartburn to where I can feel burning in my throat! I took tums and they aren't helping! Any suggestions?

Zantac works really good you can also take tums n sometimes drinking milk works.

I have one question abt Zantac. Before going to bed...if can i take zantac,is it helpful to get hours sleep. Please help me....Now i am 9 weeks...next week i want to fly around 7 hrs...i am so worried abt that also....

You can talk to your doc. I am taking 75 mg of zantac twice a day.....and be warned.....it only gets worse as you get further along....

It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for two hours before you lie down. To help control the stomach acid, one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them, or eat chocolate or spicy or greasy foods . Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta. You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec (omeprazole).These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms worsen then it may be due to H.Pylori infection.

Don't drink with your meals, take tums if your uncomfortable with otc meds and the calcium in them are good for you and baby. I've learned that drinking milk will make heartburn and acid reflux worse because your stomach produces more acid to try to get rid of the fatty coating it leaves in your stomach lining.

Tums are also safe, but I am taking Zantac and have most of the pregnancy.

I got heartburn really bad like that with my 1st couldn't eat drink or sleep told doctor and he gave me prescription for prevacid. It helps to tell them because they can help you with something stronger than tums. Thankfully i had a lot with last one and this one but not as bad and have been able to just take tums. You could also try mixing some milk water and salt in a glass and drinking it but it's nasty.

I just drink a lot water and sit up maybe start walking around so chest is not weighed down and wait few hours after you eat to lay down.

I take 40 mg of prilosec a day and it works amazing

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

Milk never worked for me the heartburn always came back as soon as I laid Down... I do take Zantac 150 twice a day and its AMAZING I'm 37 weeks and have not had heartburn at all since 31 weeks!

Milk curdle in you and can make it worse and even make you vomit. Dr said Zantac or pepcid is safe and take tums in between. If you take zantac once in morning and once at night it works wonders!! I swear by it. I had heartburn 5 out of 7 days in first and second trimesters. Now I have it every once in a while. Also don't lie down right after eating and eat smaller meals. Good kuck!
