i pray they are right,i dont want to have a seizure as i have said i have never had a seizure in my life,,,,,,,this is not the drug for me i already ahve anxiety and depression and this is making it worse..

Has he seen in a neurologist?Not just in the ER, I mean, but for a more extensive workup. It's not impossible that he has a seizure disorder (e.g., some form of epilepsy) that is not related to his diabetes. An electroencephalogram (EEG) could be helpful, even, if necessary, a 24-hour one if they couldn't otherwise catch the seizure activity. Good luck.

I don't think people who have a seizure remember the seizure, but he definitely had something. Maybe it's a thyroid problem. He needs to be seen, but an ER is the slowest, most expensive and least efficient way to do it.

lol! i was excited when i first looked too. in the past year alone, awareness has grown considerably!! i watched a video of an actual decompression surgery being done before i had mine...it was fascinating!

Since, she has been drinking as ussual and had a seizure a month ago and then experienced double vision. CT Scan showed nothing and then vision cleared. Last week her boyfriend (enabler) found her inthe floor and took her to the ER. Mild heart attack. While on the cardiac floor the 1st day started seizures and has been having them since 8 days. She was on life support and seizures stopped for 35 hrs or so and I called her in the ICU and she had a seizure today while I was on with her.

Hi, I was on Depakote ER for over three years at 1500mg. It did stabilize me as well, but in those three years I have gained over 100lbs. I also began having bad tremors, so bad that I could not write cursive anymore and I would not eat in public because my hand would shake so bad that the food would fall off and make a mess. Just about a month and a half ago my pdoc weened me off Depakote and put me on Stavzor 1000mg 2x a day and I lost 11lbs so far and I do not shake anymore either.

my 16 yr old son who suffers from autism cerebral palsey ocd servere to profound hearing loss and epilepsy has suffered 3 seizures in 2 weeks, 1 tonic seizure may 2, 1 grand mal may 7 and 1 grand mal may 17. he is now taking 1000mg depakote. his depakote level is 105 (he weighs 98 lbs) since his last seizure on may 17 he now cries for hours before he falls asleep, and wakes during the night crying. i think his meds r affecting him. can u please give me an idea to help him?

Went to listen to live music at 7. Thought it would b nice to remember a weekend nite. Sat down and WHAM like I got smacked in the back of the head with a hammer. Was texting, started shaking REAL bad. Dropped phone. Lost it for 1-2 minutes. Acutuley aware of what was going on but was paralyzed. Is this a seizure? Spoke to a friend who has an epileptic friend and he said spots in front of your eyes is a good indicator one is coming. Had that at 5:30 or so. Worst in my life.

couple days after my daughter received her 6mo vaccine cocktail and a clean bill of health; she had like 5 spasms a minute or two apart. it seems to only happen when she is tired and cranky or if she wakes up from sleeping or is about to sleep. her development is right on track, she is eating well and is 100% on height... she is growing normally.

I had laser surgery 2 days ago to correct a small tear in my retina of my right eye. The retina specialist gave me what I believe to be the numbing drops no more than 2-3 minutes before he started the procedure. During the procedure I could feel very uncomfortable stinging in the back of my eye along with the pressure from him holding the lense in my eyey. I was also seeing very bright Red, White and I belive Green lights when he used the laser.

My brother-in-law gets most of his seizures while he is sleeping. As far as I know it is just the way that your seizures come. You just have to take regular anti-seizure drugs to take care of it. As I am not a doctor please don't take my advice instead of seeing a doctor. Please feel free to come back and update us.

I wish I could tell you more definitively what may be the problem, my knowledge is limited to certain types of neurology issues, but I do know basic nursing stuff and SO many times an ER will let a sick person go, but ANYONE who goes to an ER and is discharged should ALWAYS follow up with their doc as soon as possible, AND, in your case, you should take your child to a pediatric neurologist for that follow up.

can i get copys of my visit at the er? i had 3 seizures in 24hrs and had a ct scan do they give copys of those? im gona try because i go to a seizure spealist next week .i praying i feel better before i got a busy long hard week next week. thanks for your help and advice.

She has no other typical seizure characteristics as in the past. We were in the ER twice this week. A cat scan shows nothing...an MRI today. What is going on?
