yoga

Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn While crunches will help strengthen your muscles, they aren't going to do a lot to get rid of the pudge. Yoga is excellent for that, as is Pilates. You can download a yoga app or check out videos on YouTube. You can also buy relatively inexpensive yoga DVD's. Unless you know how to do it, opt for the beginners videos/dvd's. My favorite yoga is Biggest Loser, Yoga for Weight Loss. I've got to get back to doing it regularly.

10683890 tn?1412893806 Hi guys, I just wanted to share that yoga has been helping me tremendously to manage cravings and anxiety while I taper. It's a great distraction and helps to shift me into a calmer and healthier mindset. I can't always get to classes so a lot of times I just do yoga at home with dvd's. There are a couple of great ones for beginners I wanted to recommend.
1277304 tn?1272934251 Yes, you need to cut calories to lose weight, but you also need exercise. You can't figure that we all need the same amount of calories/day. For some people, 1200 wouldn't even be enough to support basic metabolic needs, for others, it might be too much. You need to calculate your calorie needs based on your current weight, height and activity level to get your BMR, then cut/use calories accordingly.
Avatar m tn I didn't do yoga but know that there are classes and videos directed at the pregnant woman to do it. I walked a lot and lifted light weights when pregnant.
Avatar n tn It's a great addition. Yoga tends to be more mussel building and toning your body, when working out to loose weight you need a good combination of cardio and body toning. I love doing Yoga and it's very helpful to me, but if I didn't walk/run on a treadmill I wouldn't have lost any weight.
Business woman2 Talk to your doctor about trying yoga. There are yoga routines for nearly every level of ability, all the way from losing big time, to chair yoga for seniors. Not sure if you're a senior, but maybe chair yoga would be a place to start. That said, since you can't get a lot of exercise, you will have to limit calories in order to lose weight.

If you have stairs in your home, stair climbing is good, jump rope is good; ever tried a whoola hoop? Like to dance?
Avatar f tn Yoga and Pilates are amazing!!! Also sleeping with a snoogle helps immensely to take pressure off. I had horrible back pain with my first bc my tailbone went out of place in pregnancy. This time it started happening again and I immediately started my yoga/Pilates routine again and the pain went away the same day. I also had to start sleeping with my pregnancy pillow (snoogle) earlier this time. Thanks to those two things my pain is gone though.
Avatar f tn i am 23 weeks and really havent gained weight however i dont think it is from the yoga i think its just me that im not gaining weight. I have a great instructor and it really helps with the stress and crazness of being pregnant. And its a wonderful bonding experience with your baby. I feel so close to my son. A lot has to do with the yoga intsructor, the way she relaxes the class and she knows just the right positions for pregnant women. I highly recomend it.
Avatar f tn Is that 53 kg? If so, you're about right for your height. Maybe all you need to do is tone your muscles. You might look into trying to fit in some yoga, 3-4 times/week. Yoga is excellent for toning and strengthening muscles. It stretches your muscles and leaves you with a "long and lean" feeling, because you tend to have better posture. There are some excellent yoga videos on YouTube; check them out and see if you might be able to get interested.
4845170 tn?1369102292 I just started my third tri but since I found out I was pregnant I have done stretches as squats nearly every day, as the weather got warmer into my second I began to walk at least 3 times a week n started doing prenatal yoga for beginners but it makes me feel the best...I strongly suggest the yoga its great for repaxing n stretching and for a small amount of strengthening (if that's a word haha) I'm hoping all these things help when labor comes.
Avatar f tn I just started doing the weight loss thing and I've cut out pop, candy, fried foods and stuff like that for about a week. I have issues some times walking and also can't get to the gym what can I do at home that will help me?
Avatar n tn No bread or anything with noodles or salt. Also, try some yoga! You loose a lot of weight actually and its so much better than working out.
Avatar f tn I use to practise bikram yoga 5-6 times a week. When we found out I was pg, my doc said it was too hot and I was instructed to stop until 2nd trimester. I lost the baby and have always wondered if the yoga played a part in the mc. Since the mc, I have cut way back. But it's been a year and we still haven't gotten pg. We want a baby but how long do I put my life on hold... I went to yoga 4 times a week during the first two weeks of this cycle.
Avatar f tn Just check youtube for pregnante yoga for beginners! It takes me 15 min a day and there is certain postures that i do at work to get instant relief.
