Avatar f tn Yoga is great exercise for people with CPVT. I practice yoga almost daily.
Avatar f tn I'm a 1st mommy and currently touring hospitals which I didn't even know you could do. But some ppl I talk to make a big deal about the room setting. It's like a big deal to some . I'm not looking the Ritz, I just want my baby out safe and sound. Like do I need a bathtub, yoga ball, and a guest area? Do I really need to focus on the beautification of the hospital room?
Avatar f tn This is more of a trigger for one to fall into VT and possibly a more erratic more dangerous type of VT called Torsades de pointes. In general R on T does not necessarily mean one will fall into VT but the fact that you have passed out may mean that yours does trigger it from time to time. The good news is you generally convert on your own but the fact you have passed out may indicate that an ICD is called for.
Avatar m tn I had an EP study done on FEB 4th where they found scarring that did not show up in the MRI in my right ventricle and I also had a defibrillator placed in for VT in my left ventricle. In my case the VT was high at 260bpm and they determined I was at high risk for sudden cardiac death. I am also on Sotalol.
1101325 tn?1321253073 Hi Braveheart1978, Go to the emergency room for the vt's if they are not stopping. Its your heart don't play around with it. It isn't the doctors heart. Have you thought to get a second opinion. and also do you see an electrophysiologist. I take a beta blocker 100xl toperal and one adult aspirin for my heart. Its old school medicine for my svt. If i don't take the beta blocker my heart starts to pick up speed. It still palpatates. on and off during the day.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with nonsustained VT and spent a week in the hospital with possible RVOT-VT. I am on metoprolol which seems to be keeping the VT at bay, although since my hospital stay, I have been plagued with a variety of palpitations that I have never experienced before.
Avatar m tn Before my ablation, I had several VT events. Mine was sustained VT lasting anywhere from 35 beats to 42 beats. When my h/r starting going in VT, that is when it was decided I needed the ablation. As far as I know, and if I'm wrong someone can correct me, but I don't think you go in and out of VF(v-fib).
Avatar n tn 1. I don't know that there is a 'normal' amount of pvcs in a given time period. The majority of people are not aware they have them at all even though statistics say almost everyone does in fact have them. However, while not 'normal', I have read that under 1,000 in a 24 hour period, a doc would not be the least bit concerned with. And supposedly, they must number greater than 10,000 in a 24 hour period to become a concern in terms of weakening the heart.
Avatar n tn They said it was a short run of vt on the stress test, so with what I know now I think that is non sustained vt but not sure. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
17115252 tn?1456332331 I saw a new cardiologist who said he did not think I had SVT based on my EKG from the emergency room. He said he had to assume VT and thinks I misunderstood my previous cardiologist (same practice). I did not misunderstand. I also found out from the new cardiologist that the cardiac MRI did show minor loss of functionality on my right side. I found out yesterday the halter monitor that I wore for three days prior to my cardiac MRI was never reviewed. I had always assumed it was normal.
649848 tn?1534633700 m no slouch when it comes to physical activity and if I can push a lawn mower and dig a trench for a water line, I can do yoga!! Throw something out, indeed!! LOL So I proceeded to make him leave the room (just in case he was right), then I got on with it. I now have 2 dvd's of yoga for beginners & yes, I'm still a beginner but I get better every time I do it. There is some equipment that is useful, but not essential.
Avatar m tn V Tach is a regular but rapid beating of the heart. The main problem is the possibility that the ventricles cannot be charged fast enough from the chambers above to pump a sufficient amount of blood, The resilts are light-headedness, and possible syncope. The concern with V Tach is it can lead to V fib,and this is a dangerous condition which can lead to sudden death.
1101325 tn?1321253073 It sounds weird to have VT from an ASD repair. The atria do not produce VT, if you have atrial scar tissue, you can develop reentry atrial tachycardia.
Avatar f tn I had an EP study 5 days ago that showed the problem area either inside the muscle or on the outside. Dr. tried for 2 hours, but couldn't ablate from the inside. Very disappointing day. He started me on Flecainide-I had vision problems and migraines for the first few days, but better now (I'm keeping my fingers crossed!). He also has me on 25mg atenolol. The Dr. mentioned another procedure that's more invasive. I looked it up & it's Epicardial Ablation.
86819 tn?1378947492 The thing is this. I have episodes of what looks like short run VT on event monitor traces from several years ago, and some additional tachy on an event monitor (another short burst of either SVT or VT) a few days after my episode. Before almost passing out though, I had no feeling of tachycardia at all. Just got out of a difficult session in the mens room, so it seems like vasovagal is a possible explanation, but I am thinking this is something of a stretch.
Avatar f tn I got a pair of yoga pants from maternity motherhood. They have extra room in the belly and can be worn folded or over the belly. And they stay up!
Avatar f tn there are differences in the mechanisms of short runs of VT and sustained VT. Short runs of VT are usually caused by an abnormal ventricular "pacemaker" that suddenly decide to fire a salvo of PVCs instead of one (this can be caused by two mechanisms).
Avatar n tn Hello, I would very much like to know if doing Bikram Yoga is good or bad for your skin. Basically, it is quite strenuous yoga done for 1 and a half hours, in a room that is generally 40 degrees or 104 celsius. The arguments are that it is good for you because you have to drink so much water your skin becomes hydrated, and secondly because you are sweating for an hour and a half your skin sweats out all of the toxins creating hydrated, clear skin.
Avatar n tn I had a normal EKG and then my doc ordered an at home monitor for 14 days where she diagnosed me with VT. I was also having ansiety attacks at the time. My doc put me on Metoprolol and the VT had gotten better for a couple weeks but now they're back AGAIN! I wonder if my doc is doing everything she should and there's other testing I should have done.
Avatar f tn In 1999 I started noticing a new arrhythmia, and in 2001 was diagnosed with VT. Another EP study was done in 2001, again they were unable to induce in lab, but had a sustained run of SVT in the recovery room. I started noticing a "new" arrhythmia 6 months ago and wore an event recorder. Only one episode of the new arrhythmia occurred during that month, but the strip wasn't transmitted to my cardiologist.
Avatar n tn Loliss - sorry to hear that you have such a heavy burden of PVC's. I was reviewing options after my father in law suffered his second heart attack and having episodes of scar related VT. What I found was that there was a general lack of VT ablation experience overall but that there are a handful of centers with a concentration of VT ablationists. Even in the centers that do a good volume of AF ablations, the EP's typically only do 3-4 VT ablations per year.
Avatar f tn I did yoga but once your belly gets big you need to buy a prenatal yoga video that is for big bellies.
520292 tn?1232035850 Hello, I know we disagree a bit in some of our replies. Anyway, it seems like you suffer quite heavy from anxiety over PVCs, and I'll try to give you a useful answer. First of all, you cannot be completely sure you are feeling a PVC while having skipped or double beats. I know you are monitoring this, but it's really not easy to see the difference between some PACs and PVCs.
Avatar n tn VT is confined to the lower chambers. Non-sustained VT, or NSVT, occurs whenever VT is sustained for less than 30 seconds. (I have never heard of sustained VT referred to as SVT, but would not discount the possibility.) In the above context, the waveform could be a reciprocating tachycardia that is more regular than afib. It seems likely that someone is trying to differentiate a reciprocating SVT from VT.
Avatar m tn This said, it can be easy for people to mix up VT with SVT. Were you specifically told it was VT or given a paper that gave you a diagnosis? I have had people who were diagnosed with PSVT think it is VT when that really means SVT that comes and goes. VT that doesn't sustain is generally labelled as NSVT. It can be very easy to mix them up so just wanted to clarify that you were indeed specifically told you had VT because SVT is a lot less concerning.
Avatar f tn VT can or can't be a problem - lots of variables come into play all depending on your specific case. Here's an answer from one of the medhelp dr's about vt - http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Heart-Disease/Idiopathic-Ventricular-Tachycardia-Ablation/show/1327314 here's some info I have on VT - http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/228899/VTACH---VT-?
