1926359 tn?1331588139 Hi All- I have discovered this wonderful guided meditation. It is called Yoga Nidra and is meant for those dealing with addiction and chronic pain. I just did it and after a hellish morning of pain where no meds would help, I feel much better and may even be able to function. I think it would be a powerful tool for those of you that are in detox hell right now, for those of you that are dealing with chronic pain issues, anxiety issues, or even just normal stress.
Avatar f tn I have almost exactly the same symptoms and test indications that you have. A colonoscopy and many, many blood tests, stool samples, etc have all been inconclusive, so I've been diagnosed with IBS. I found a website that helped quite a bit (www.helpforibs.com), but I had to modify the advice from this website slightly (through trial and error) in order to best control my symptoms.
Avatar f tn Margot, It sounds like we have a couple of things in common. I was never an Olympic sleeper myself. It's been really rough since my detox 1 yr. & 7 mos. ago. I'm also a big meditation/contemplative prayer fan. It really helps but it definitely takes practice & discipline to build on it. I cut out coffee back in Feb. of this year but was still smoking cigarettes.
9668401 tn?1405176684 I have to take prevacid to prevent ulcers, but have spent a few years trying alternatives only to come back to this basic regimen. Yoga Nidra for meditation helps, but that is it for me. I hope you find what works, In the mean time, have those pills doled out by a trustworthy source as prescribed. Surgery is a complete justification, IMO, for pain meds, short-term, as prescribed. A friend of mine swears by Aleve for her back pain, but it didn't do anything for me.
Avatar f tn So I've dealt with some pain during this pregnancy, I've had a lot of migrains that raise my bp. I can control my bp though if I focus on being relaxed breathing good and work through the anxiety by zoning out of it best I can. So with that being said I'm looking into meditation and practicing it through my labor.
Avatar m tn I would like to communicate with anyone using and having success with meditation and or yoga for severe anxiety Thanks
10683890 tn?1412893806 Lulu posted one in the social a while back that I use a lot I think it is called Yoga Nidra ... its online. Its 30 minutes which I find extremely long because I cant relax for that long but I do it so far for nine minutes at the most and its great. yoga is key for better balance and health overall, if I could just make myself do it more. I totally agree with you. ty for the titles!
574529 tn?1237761006 They say it can help, and well it sure can't hurt right? at the least it will help with the whole stress that ttc brings! i've started yoga recently, trying to do any and everything we can to help all of this!
Avatar f tn LOL! Yoga works! Meditation does as well and I don't know about you but I can hardly ever find a quiet place in the house!! Exercise works even more and it DOES decrease the cravings. Find something you don't hate doing! I swim and it's fun...also, you should just "tweak" your mindset a little: those are NOT your pills! Not anymore... keep separating yourself from the thought.
Avatar f tn re able to do a little bit of yoga every day it will help you, your baby, and your labor! I second staying for the meditation it helps with blood pressure and anxiety! Good luck!
847102 tn?1238700275 my afib was mostly vagal and I started Yoga a few months back and while I don't know if its the Yoga or all of the other changes I have made, the Yoga doesn't seem to be hurting anything and it's helping me become more "aware" of my body and I'm getting a little more limber and it's helping my posture alot. I also do pilates and this does'nt seem to bother me either. I encorporate the meditaion into my Yoga routine at the end of my sessions.
Avatar f tn Hi :) First, Congrats on 6 Days!! Yup, You're going through it! The no sleep thing is definitely the worst part of the 'process'. Our circadian rhythms get all messed up because acute detox is such a shock to our systems. Our balance of neural hormones is destroyed & it takes time for them to even out. You're going through the worst of it right now, so hang in there! It's worth it & you've come so far!
Avatar f tn ohh no no i think u got me wrong. i was aking about meditation like yoga or sum. to meditate.. well, had sum stress keep comming over n' over. so thought meditation would help me to avoid. so tht's y i thought to giv it a try !!!
Avatar f tn t have that yet. Orthotics are helpful. Relaxation things like yoga, meditation can help believe it or not. Working with a physical therapist to improve strength and mobility and regular walking are the things I've really read are most helpful.
Avatar f tn I want to learn more about yoga and meditation to help me with my depression where would be a good site to find this information. Also has anyone found success with accupuncture?
10623623 tn?1414292089 Hi Love- Yes, I would say that anxiety is probably the worst detox symptom there is. You also have a lot going on situation wise so it's no wonder you're anxious. I find that just saying to myself "Okay, so I feel anxious. I'm not going to die from it." really helps. But the BEST things for anxiety are exercise and deep breathing. Meditating alone is REALLY hard, especially when you are jittery anxious and your mind is going a mile a minute.
1348302 tn?1286575703 People practice meditation for many reasons within the context of their culture. Meditation is a component of many religions, and has been practiced since antiquity, especially by monastics. To date, the exact mechanism at work in meditation remains unclear.
1551327 tn?1514045867 t know what the difference is either but I have only been doing yoga for a couple of months. I am sure Yoga can be replaced with many things as long as it is still meditation of some variety.
Avatar n tn Do not be over anxious about this as this will increase sweating. Easier said than done, but you have to try meditation and yoga to calm your self. Avoid too much of tea, coffee, smoking and spicy food. Take up yoga, deep breathing exercise, walking and remain strong and happy. Music and aerobics are also good stress busters. Drink plenty of fluids and water (not caffeine), eat fresh fruits and vegetables and keep yourself busy throughout the day.
973741 tn?1342342773 Yes! Doing meditation or some yoga or exercises can really control hypertension. A single workout can reduce blood pressure for an entire day, and regular exercise can keep the pressure down for the long run.
Avatar n tn Have you tried yoga and meditation?
