10683890 tn?1412893806 Hi guys, I just wanted to share that yoga has been helping me tremendously to manage cravings and anxiety while I taper. It's a great distraction and helps to shift me into a calmer and healthier mindset. I can't always get to classes so a lot of times I just do yoga at home with dvd's. There are a couple of great ones for beginners I wanted to recommend.
Avatar f tn I have almost exactly the same symptoms and test indications that you have. A colonoscopy and many, many blood tests, stool samples, etc have all been inconclusive, so I've been diagnosed with IBS. I found a website that helped quite a bit (www.helpforibs.com), but I had to modify the advice from this website slightly (through trial and error) in order to best control my symptoms.
1088217 tn?1301925756 t think im consider very high risk but i do see a perinatologist along with my ob to get biweekly ultrasounds due to my history so that got me thinking if i should or not go to the hospital classes?.. since you take yoga classes what they make you do? is it alot of streching or more relaxing?
1926359 tn?1331588139 Hi All- I have discovered this wonderful guided meditation. It is called Yoga Nidra and is meant for those dealing with addiction and chronic pain. I just did it and after a hellish morning of pain where no meds would help, I feel much better and may even be able to function. I think it would be a powerful tool for those of you that are in detox hell right now, for those of you that are dealing with chronic pain issues, anxiety issues, or even just normal stress.
10609801 tn?1412399288 I am in school studying to be a yoga therapist! I will be learning how to teach Yoga Nidra! It is very hard for me to lay down and so the breathing. My heart is pounding and I can't stand the noise or feel of it. I get more freaked out. I have been trying the Nadishodana ( alternate nostril berating) You breath in through the left nostril while holding the right and and then exhale through the right nostril.
Avatar f tn Haven't tried prenatal yoga but still go to regular yoga 2 times each week.
5159375 tn?1368562728 Is anyone enrolled in prenatal yoga classes? If so how are You liking it?
Avatar f tn Yes, I go to prenatal yoga classes once a week. I really enjoy it. I'm 30 weeks now and I've started yoga around 22 weeks. Be careful if you are less than 20 weeks: it's dangerous! I was doing yoga before I got pregnant so I decided to continue during myy1st trimester and at 10 weeks I had some kind of placenta rupture.
Avatar f tn But now all I can think about is starting my family. My question is do any of u ladies participate in prenatal yoga and if so do u feel it is beneficial to u?
1900462 tn?1352775302 When did you guys start your prenatal yoga classes? Is it better to start your yoga as soon as you can so you can strengthen your pelvic muscles for labor later on or what? I was thinking it would be better to do it earlier and continue throughout the pregnancy but idk. What do you guys think?
7607165 tn?1395780125 Omg I did a class today amazing took my stress away felt such relief awesome experience definitely ladies try it was great breathing technics good I always did regular yoga but prenatal is so good ;) definitely going back
Avatar f tn I've taken a prenatal yoga class since 14 weeks. Im currently 36 weeks and feel amazing, can move around, dance - you name it, even though I have a big pregnancy belly ;) It ceeps me going. A plus is that my instructor is a doula and gives a lot of advice throughout the pregnancy and about birth and postpartum.
Avatar f tn I loved prenatal yoga!
Avatar n tn The two books that helped the most were TheKindMama book by Alicia Silverstone and The Yoga Birth Book. I tried looking up natural birthing classes, but they were outrageously priced or too far for my liking.
Avatar f tn Hi :) First, Congrats on 6 Days!! Yup, You're going through it! The no sleep thing is definitely the worst part of the 'process'. Our circadian rhythms get all messed up because acute detox is such a shock to our systems. Our balance of neural hormones is destroyed & it takes time for them to even out. You're going through the worst of it right now, so hang in there! It's worth it & you've come so far!
Avatar f tn Thanks! Do you all take regular yoga or prenatal ? I already joined a gym and they have yoga classes a few days a week but not prenatal yoga.
Avatar f tn I signed up for yoga classes before I find out I was pregnant and just find out my first beginners classes can I do it and be safe for my baby and my self? I am 9weeks.
Avatar f tn You think its a bad I idea not take the classes or should I am not sure :\
280369 tn?1316702041 I agree with cindy the breastfeeding are the only really help ful classes. Good luck to you and only you will know if you need the classes or not!
Avatar f tn I discovered the following today- sent by my yoga teacher as I am bed bound and unable to attend class in person. It is Yoga Nidra and focuses on pain, addiction, and insomnia. Hope it helps you find peace. Time to get back into making your recovery your #1 priority. Everything else will fall into place. Lu https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar f tn Walking or swimming is really good. You want to exercise for about 30 minutes a day.
Avatar f tn I am 36 weeks and never took one. I believe there is an online class on babycenter.
Avatar f tn Vitamins are a must is what my doc says. Eat healthy. Exercise...safely of course. Attending classes helps. Birthing classes. Yoga. The most I stress is eating healthy. It's hard to cause you will eventually want to eat everything insight lol or not.
Avatar f tn I'm taking prenatal yoga classes and they are pretty good.
Avatar n tn I had a thyroid lobectomy 20 days ago. Can I start practicing Yoga? What yoga poses shouldn't i do after thyroid surgery ?
440535 tn?1312368065 If u are naturally active take yoga or aquatic classes. they will help relax your muscles. Let your dr know of your classes and ask him of certain movements you shouldnt have your head/neck in. Some movements in yoga you may have to adjust but in all it will help your mind slow down and your body relax. But you still feel like you are accomplishing something and not wasting time.
293845 tn?1227997530 This fall I registered for 2 classes (6 credits which is part-time) Art History and Infants and Toddlers. It is week 4 in the semester and so far I have completed all of the assignments and done well. WELL the problem is, it stresses me out quite a bit. I am always thinking "ok what is due for school..?" It's like a cloud that follows me. I find that sometimes I don't exercise or do my Yoga because I spend so much time studying and reading the textbooks.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to do 90 minutes of hot yoga when you have mitral valve prolapse? I have done a 60 minute session twice before but it was before I was diagnosed??
