Avatar n tn A teacher SHOULD NOT be doing any diagnosis other than maybe mentioning something to you and/or the school counselor. She hasn't the training and idiots who do this type of stuff are why we have so many normal kids on meds for ADD.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a yoga teacher and 9 weeks pregnant with my first :) Anytime the doctor hears you're doing yoga they say yes, great, keep doing it! But they don't know about certain restrictions. Make sure you tell your instructor that you are in your first trimester. Not every teacher is trained in prenatal but yours may be.
Avatar m tn I'm a 50 year old yoga teacher and flight attendant and am due to have a Sacrocolpopoxy on 30th Dec. I had a vaginal hysterectomy at 37. I have come to terms with my operation but am really concerned about future yoga practice. At present I suffer no symptoms teaching and practising( probably due to constant attention to core and mindful movement) however do suffer symptoms when I fly and have been on my feet all day.
382218 tn?1341181487 t discuss Yoga as a weight training modality, especially the standing poses, and arm balances (Crow, Crane, Peacock, etc.) Yoga can be quite intense, depending on ability and poses attempted. I had a Yoga teacher who had been practicing some 30 years before she had her first bone density scan at age 55. Her MD told her she had the bones of a 20 year old!
Avatar f tn I've done yoga - I do yoga. Daily. It's been fabulous for spasticity and balance. I'm a full-time cane user now but was able to hold it off for years through a combo of balance PT and, IMO, yoga. My suggestions: 1. Try to find a yoga teacher who has worked with people with MS. I've met yoga teachers who didn't have that experience who thought MS issues were muscle issues. And, they might be but they're message issues first. 2.
Avatar f tn I'm just curious..
Avatar f tn Thanks! Do you all take regular yoga or prenatal ? I already joined a gym and they have yoga classes a few days a week but not prenatal yoga.
Avatar f tn The water makes you weightless so it might not hurt your back, you could also do gentle yoga to perhaps help your back, but check with your doc or consult a yoga teacher who could help you find movement to get you more limber. Good luck.
Avatar f tn My son is 4.5 yrs old and just started school, but I am having trouble with his toilet training, sometimes he does it and sometimes he just 'wees' or poop's in his pants, he doesn't seem to care and just seems too busy to think for himself, what else should I do, his teachers are getting concerned?
Avatar f tn in the past year - ectopic with right tube removal, chemical and a blighted ovum. I took time out from TTC and took up hot yoga and went on to teacher training. During the last week of exams I found out I was around 5 weeks pregnant. I also started spotting and thought the worse. I was advised by docs to take it easy and the teacher running my course has suggested I dont do ANY yoga until 16 week! I have not do a single class- and trust me it is driving me insane.
Avatar f tn You could try, also, adding in 30 minutes of yoga 3 day/week. You also need some strength training, which can be done with light hand weights and moves, such as squats and lunges. You could alternate yoga and the strength training and take a walk daily. There are many other forms of exercise that are also very good, such as swimming, biking, dancing, etc. You have to do what you enjoy and will be able to stick with and can include in your schedule.
Avatar n tn When he goes on the toilet let him know how proud you are of him and give him a big hug. Accidents happen. Ask any preschool teacher and the teacher will say that accidents happen even with 4 and 5 years olds. No pressure. Be positive when he goes potty on the toilet.
Avatar f tn Its summer good to wear cute maternity skirts and dressea
Avatar n tn I am not joking-- maybe yoga? The person who is best qualified to help you would be an expert in sports medicine; I would suggest contacting a medical school sports medicine department, or even contacting the nearest professional or amateur sports team and asking them who they recommend and use for sports injuries. There might be some other suggestion-- but I doubt it.

Avatar f tn You need a balance between duration, intensity and recovery that will get you the best results and prevent the effects of over training. Exercise, is what causes the calories to be burned to generate energy. Energy recruitment during exercise is more complex. Your body uses different fuels, known as substrates, for the different intensity and length of exercises.
Avatar f tn Just try some basic stretches, walking and any other exercises that you normally do. Or if you really want to try yoga I would recommend seeing a yiga teacher so they can help and show you how to do things properly without injuring yourself.

Avatar f tn I am not a yoga teacher. I am interested in learning holistic therapies. I would like to share what I find useful.I thank barb135 for encouraging me to share what I learn. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi, my daughter has been diagnosed with premature adrenarche. She has also been tested for precocious puberty because of some of the symptoms she was presenting. The first round of blood tests indicated she was in the range for LH for premature adrenarche (5.3 units - not sure what these units are!). She had a second set of tests which suggested she wasn't (3.7). The endocrinologist says this rules out precocious puberty, but should we have her tested a third time to check?
Avatar f tn He has been moved to 1:1 and is doing much better. The behavioral specailist wants to integrate him back into the classroom, but feels he should move to a new classroom, I really agree. I feel like the old teacher is really burnt out with him and keeps saying "I don't have the training to deal with this". then she sent a group email out about Valentine's Day and my son's name was not on the list. IT was very devastating to me.
Avatar f tn Thanks a lot for ur help. I stopped playing badminton and started some Yoga exercises by consulting a Yoga teacher here.
