1301089 tn?1290666571 Stephanie Dillon, who has injected Christian themes into her studio in Louisville, said yoga brought her closer to her Christian faith, which had faded after college and service in the Army. "What I found is that it opened my spirit, it renewed my spirituality," Dillon said. "That happened first and then I went back to church." Dillon attends Southeast Christian Church in Louisville and says many evangelical Christians from the church attend her yoga classes.
282955 tn?1394730951 You may want to start with something less robust though. Try a class through a gym or community center, then maybe move to a yoga studio.
Avatar f tn I actually did yoga at home before pregnancy (waaaay before, but not within the last year). And I had taken a couple classes at an athletic facility before. This class was so much different. Things are not just modified, the whole process pertains to the pregnant woman and her needs. For instance, we're not supposed to do abdominal twists in the second trimester... or lay on our backs at 20 weeks. She tailored it to our pregnancy weeks.

451191 tn?1264432890 I wanted to pass along this link to everyone. I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for 7 years and have found it's benefits to be many. So much so, that I have decided to get certified to teach and hopefully open my own studio someday. My own experience has been this: since my TT in April and RAI in May I have not gained ONE single ounce, have maintained a consistent energy level and my TSH levels always fall within normal ranges. http://www. yogapassion. com/testimonials/12.
Avatar f tn And if you can’t afford yoga lessons in a studio, try your local senior center–many offer free or heavily discounted classes. You could even buy or rent a yoga DVD, or borrow one from the local library. While there’s no single answer to fibromyalgia yet, it’s becoming clear that steady movement such as yoga can play a huge role in improving the condition.
Avatar n tn I, too, have to watch my sodium intake, due to severe edema and hypertension... I mostly eat a regular diet of fresh food, and I simply leave the salt out of most recipes. After you get used to it, you don't miss it... If I do use a dash of salt at the table, I use Himalayan sea salt, which, though it's more expensive, I've been told doesn't have as much sodium as table salt.
Avatar f tn NS here told me in Jan that he was scheduling surgery for me, have yet to hear back from his office which leaves me very confident in them....ugh! So in the meantime I sent my info to TCI and I see Dr. Kula on the 27th. He ordered more tests before I go. Would love any input on all my results so far as there are many other "little" findings so I'm curious what to expect. I'm not sure if I should push for lumbar mri as well cuz I haven't had one.
1340519 tn?1305166702 I was dx with EDS by Dr. Kula at TCI. I scored 7 out of 9 on the Beighton Scale (my legs don't go back)... also he asked me tons of questions about my body and medical history and said that's what I have... To ramgirl77 - thanks for your reply... my husband swears its soooo bad for me to pop my finger joints... I have to do it when he's not around... but I can't stop... ah! Are these poppings considered subluxations... or something else? I am in the process of meeting a Dr.

1317224 tn?1378705134 While I was reading your post regarding anxiety, I remembered reading that people who practice yoga for relaxation have been able to cut their afib episodes in half. I know during the recent election debates and news, I was highly agitated but couldn't look away, and my heart rate, blood pressure and stress level were off the charts!

Avatar f tn ve given up my practise and plan on sticking to swimming, walking, and either prenatal yoga or some other form without the heat. I can go back to hot yoga later. I just really hope no damage was done. I'm a little frustrated that there isn't more information about it. I practised for two weeks in the beginning before I knew I was pregnant. When I found out and talked to my doctor about it, she said not to do it agian, and it was too late if the damage was done.

Avatar f tn Yeah im pretty sure I can fine them classes on youtube. I do want to take a yoga class. I think that's definitely going to help me. They have a studio in my area that's extremely cheap.
Avatar m tn The boils came back and still do come back, usually in the nostrils. I was never in the hospital before the initial occurrence, but was frequenting a yoga studio at the time, which would seem like the most likely culprit. Also, I recently had an MRI for shoulder issues, and a small amount of fluid was detected in a particular bursa, which I understand can be caused by staph among other things.
Avatar f tn Im 34+2 is it okay for me to be doing yoga ? My babies prefectly healthy and i am to, does anyone know ?
