Avatar f tn Omg it's a life saver. I've been doing yoga for years & it's so good for your body but most importantly your mental state. I'm only 9 weeks but plan to keep practicing throughout my pregnancy. Just tell the teacher you are pregnant if its not obvious & they will give you options if there is anything you should avoid. Stick with it you won't regret it.
Avatar f tn I have done yoga. I found it was great for spasticity. I even did chair yoga taught by a woman with MS with movements geared to MS patients.
Avatar f tn NS here told me in Jan that he was scheduling surgery for me, have yet to hear back from his office which leaves me very confident in them....ugh! So in the meantime I sent my info to TCI and I see Dr. Kula on the 27th. He ordered more tests before I go. Would love any input on all my results so far as there are many other "little" findings so I'm curious what to expect. I'm not sure if I should push for lumbar mri as well cuz I haven't had one.
1340519 tn?1305166702 I was dx with EDS by Dr. Kula at TCI. I scored 7 out of 9 on the Beighton Scale (my legs don't go back)... also he asked me tons of questions about my body and medical history and said that's what I have... To ramgirl77 - thanks for your reply... my husband swears its soooo bad for me to pop my finger joints... I have to do it when he's not around... but I can't stop... ah! Are these poppings considered subluxations... or something else? I am in the process of meeting a Dr.

Avatar f tn And its a wonderful bonding experience with your baby. I feel so close to my son. A lot has to do with the yoga intsructor, the way she relaxes the class and she knows just the right positions for pregnant women. I highly recomend it. To me its more than physical relief. My mind is co clear and put together after that class!
Avatar f tn Today I bought one of those big exercise balls to bounce on, hoping to get things progressed. Anyone have experience with this to share?

Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar n tn i want to ask that if yoga therapy is the best way of losing weight.
1587684 tn?1296927270 Hi...I do not have a syrinx, but had surgery to help prevent the formation of one.Yes, they can continue to grow, but they can remain at the same size for a long time too. Go to a true chiari specialist to see how this syrinx is impacting u and ur overall health.
649848 tn?1534633700 Well, Ranaesheart suggested the other day that I do a post about yoga, since I suggest it whenever someone new comes into the community, so I'm going to give it a shot. I must confess, I am definitely a novice with yoga myself, but I learn more as I go along. I know there are several different kinds of yoga, ranging from what I do, which is slow and deliberate to another type that is very physical. Each kind of yoga has its own name and no, I don't know them all.
Avatar f tn I'm 33+4 and I'm wanting to use a yoga ball to bounce on and start do hip swivels, etc. I know it helps with back pain, hip pain, helping the baby engage, and positioning the baby. Well my question is could it cause labor to happen? I'm not wanting to go into pre term labor but I wouldn't mind to have her immediately after my 37 week because she's a big baby (thanks to her daddy's gene).
Avatar n tn I am almost 24 weeks and also experience hip and leg pain while sleeping. I would highly recommend prenatal yoga. I haven't been doing mine lately, and that is when I experience the pain. When I do the prenatal yoga I don't have issues. I have been using pillows under my bum and back, as well as one between my knees. I also stretch in the middle of the night if the pain wakes me up.
Avatar f tn Hello, I just got the results from a follow up MRI that was prescribed when my previous MRI showed that I had a syrinx. This MRI was of the whole spine with and w/o contrast. I have to get a referral from a doctor in order to see a NS. My Pain Management Dr is who requested the the MRI's and he has admitted to having no experience with Chiari/Syrinx. I'm going to see my PCP on Tues.
1554206 tn?1303615079 My question is I am going to see Dr. Kula and Dr. Bolongese on the 24th of January, has anyone went to these two doctors. I live in Texas, so I am traveling quite a distance to see these doctors. I don't know if the blurred vision is from the meds or if it caused by the Chiari. Sorry for going on. Thanks for listening to me.
