304970 tn?1331425994 I THINK (so not sure) it was natesmomma that originally posted the link about the pregnancy journal that was free and all you had to pay was the $3.99 shipping and handling? Well.. I ordered it and still haven't received it? I was wondering if anyone else ordered it and if so, how long did it take to receive? Thanks!
Avatar m tn You can eliminate your need for insulin and metformin by changing what you eat. Be sure to check with your doctor on the proper way to stop taking them, sometimes you have to reduce the dose slowly over a period of time. If you are controlling your need for insulin with diet, you won't need injections or medication. Check out marksdailyapple.com, it's a free website with a forum of people improving their health by diet and exercise.
572651 tn?1530999357 Want to try yoga in the quiet and privacy of your own home? There is a free MyMSYoga program dvd ad that keeps flashing on my screen here at MedHelp. I have this DVD and it is very good. The program is sponsored by BioGen and you don't have to be one of their patients to request this resource. If the ad isn't popping up for you, here is the link for more information and to order a copy for your home use. http://www.msactivesource.com/ms-yoga.
Avatar n tn keep an HONEST food diary for a week - write down EVERYTHING you eat and figure out the calories (knowing the protein would be helpful as well). Then come up with a sensible eating plan - not a diet! Diets make you fat, in the long run. Weight watchers is sensible. Or go to a registered dietician after you do your food diary for a week or two and get a consultation. They will tell you what you need to do, if anything. Health and fitness are the only things that matter.
Panda That only requires some simple blood tests for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. You should also rule out insulin resistance. You should talk to your doctor about what exercises you are able to do. You might look into chair yoga, which doesn't require standing, plus there are other types of yoga you could look into. Yoga is very low impact and there's a variety for nearly everyone.
1831849 tn?1383228392 On another board there is a thread labeled Exercise Accountability. It is members post brief descriptions of there ongoing exercise activity. Posting to the thread helps keep me motivated. I've started this journal to provide my MedHelp friends a place to do the same. My journal is open to all who care to post. :-) http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn I also used mindfulness meditation to help with my pain. There are free podcasts. I like a monk named Thicht Nhat Hahn. He makes things really simple.
Avatar f tn It might also be helpful to keep a food journal and record every morsel you eat - I started that and was pretty surprised at how many calories I was really eating when I thought I wasn't eating much at all. And of course, there's the exercise. Walking is always good and the baby needs fresh air as well. In bad weather, try mall walking if possible. Check out your cable channels - some companies have special exercise channels; others have a yoga channel.
Avatar f tn I'm an active yogi. I've been doing it throughout my pregnancy. I'm 16 weeks.
Avatar f tn Try searching on YouTube. They have plenty of free prenantal yoga for pregnant women. They also have Pilates and etc. good luck!

1150039 tn?1261880523 ll find free videos to watch. Yoga poses/movements are very definite and precise -- it focuses on breathing and balance -- sounds easy?? Not so........The thing with yoga is to get the posture (or pose) correct. And don't panic........when I bought my first yoga video and watched it, my first thought was "there's NO way *I* am ever going to be able to stretch my body like that"..
1088217 tn?1301925756 And i talked to my ob about it and he said since im just home doing nothing i should tried yoga so he gave me this ad and it said gentle yoga and is also for high risk pregnancies but is $118 for like 1 or 2 sessions im not sure so then i found out that at the hospital they give classes too for free so they fax me this paper saying that even with my a dr note is not guarentee that is safe for me to exercise so that kind of threw me off.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you read up on the special carbohydrate diet and put yourself on the intro diet for three days, and then test the whole thing out for three weeks. It was invented for children with Crohns, but it also helps in patients with IBS, Gerd, Bacterial overgrowth, fungi and parasites (to a small degree). Experiment a bit and see if honey makes it better or worse, and the yoghurt, etc. It will not give you any diagnose, but it can give you some relief.
Avatar n tn Looking for a beginners (very beginner) prenatal yoga dvd. I want to stay healthy and active but not over do it. I'm newly pregnant but haven't worked out in a long time. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn So I've dealt with some pain during this pregnancy, I've had a lot of migrains that raise my bp. I can control my bp though if I focus on being relaxed breathing good and work through the anxiety by zoning out of it best I can. So with that being said I'm looking into meditation and practicing it through my labor.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the community. I had to go back and read your original post. It would be easier if you add to the same post each time, rather than starting a whole new one, then we don't have to keep switching back and forth to see what's gone before. But that's ok - you'll get the hang of things. Have you been to see your doctor to make sure that you don't have any medical issues that might sabotage weight loss, such as thyroid, pre-diabetes/insulin resistance, etc?
644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?
