Avatar f tn @JamieNVance @nessagarcia1593 @organicmama I purchased mine at a book store called Hastings. They sell books, DVDs, CDs, etc. You can start practicing at any time. The sooner the better but, anytime is better then no time. The DVDs are designed for every trimester. And they give you simple alternatives for when our baby is bigger on how to support ourselves when in certain positions. I purchased a Crunch Workout Pregnant Mama Prenatal Yoga DVD, with instructor Sue Elkind.
649848 tn?1534633700 Think we ought to find out as much information as possible on yoga, the various types, etc .. and make a Health Page for it. From the facts that we could display on the Health Page .. we could also link to this post for some real life experience. What do you think??? Many Thanks ..
Avatar f tn Has anyone gone to pregnant yoga if so would you recommend going? Or is there other classes to help prepair for delivery?
505857 tn?1329681517 Can yoga help tone up your fatty bits while pregnant? I was overweight before I conceived now I feel bad as I don't hav e a completely round bump due to some loose fatty skin. I've ordered a yoga dvd as I've been told this could help lose weight but not to much that it harms the baby, tones and stretches the muscles to help with labour. Has anyone tried this before? Would you recommend it? Can you lose weight while pregnant and still have a healthy baby?

Avatar n tn Looking for a beginners (very beginner) prenatal yoga dvd. I want to stay healthy and active but not over do it. I'm newly pregnant but haven't worked out in a long time. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I want to increase flexibility and muscle tone. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent yoga/exercise DVD?
750946 tn?1270288132 It sounds like you've hit on a pretty good plan there -- slow and steady is the best way to do it, so you can make the changes last. I'm not familiar with the "Biggest Loser Yoga for Weight Loss" DVD, but I love yoga. Yoga stretches your muscles and strengthens your core muscles. I am not normally one for slow boring things either, but the movements in yoga are so deliberate it takes a lot of concentration to get the poses right. It's also very low impact.

Avatar f tn Fast workouts aren't always the answer. Walking is an excellent exercise; it will tone up your belly, legs, hips, thighs, so cellulite isn't so obvious. Aim for at least 30 minutes/day, but more if you have time (minimum 30 min/day, 3 days/week). You don't have to run or job, just go at a good brisk clip. If you carry a resistance band, you can work your arms, shoulders, back all at the same time. Yoga is also good for toning, tightening.
Avatar f tn I like to work out with What to Expect workout DVD and Suzannes Slim and Toned DVD.
Avatar f tn What has helped me is stretching. Doing yoga. Look online for pregnancy yoga poses or get a prenatal yoga DVD if you don't have time for a class. Also get a maternity support belt to wear during the day. It will really help.
Avatar f tn Yoga has been shown to be very useful for flexibility and spasticity. The mental aspect of yoga meditation is also shown to help with our mental health and cardiovascular system. Yoga, if I am remembering correctly, is the #1 recommended form of exercise for MSers. It is a great form of exercise and although it won't return you physically to where you were before, it iis definitely helping you in many ways.
Avatar f tn Call your dr, let them know. I don't sleep either. I'm in the same boat severe hip pain on left side. What has really helped me is prenatal yoga. Or just stretching. I just have a DVD, I don't have time to get to a class (I have to keep up with my two other very busy/active children-7 yrs and 17 months). The yoga does wonders. My DVD is only 20 mins long.
Avatar f tn I don't have a DVD, but the web is chock full of chakra, as it were. Just put the word, "guided meditation" in Google and then get ready for a chaotic onslaught of calm. I went to one of the sites: learningmeditation, and tried a few. I was oddly drawn to their gift shop page afterwards, but managed to break away before plunking down my credit card to buy the "Turtle Time Stress Reliever.
435139 tn?1255460391 s Fit Mama Prenatal Workout, she has a variety of exercises on the dvd including salsa dancing and then once you have the baby a post dvd is included and it has mama and baby workouts.
1310435 tn?1273598077 I've had trouble falling asleep for years...One of the problems I have is a lot of things running through my mind when i'm trying to fall asleep. One of the most effective things i've found is to turn all the lights down in the bedroom and put a yoga dvd in my pc. I have a mat and a yoga strap...I follow the dvd for a while and do some other general stretches using the yoga strap...
Avatar f tn Yoga is very good for you! Just be careful that you don't over stretch. They even make DVDs specifically for pregnant women :) I got the what toexpect when expecting workout dvd and its amazing. It has yoga, cardio, and workouts to do when you aren't pregnant.
Avatar f tn Does any know of a good yoga dvd or other prenatal workout video? I need to work at Zen. :) Plus I normally do a workout video & jog to stay in shape but after I found out I was prego I stopped cuz my last two pregnancies I miscarried. But I'm finding I need some kind of outlet for my witchyness so I need a low impact workout.
Avatar f tn I was going to suggest pregnancy yoga aswell. Lol you can get it on dvd cheep at best buy.
1763313 tn?1313878457 Those other things you mentioned, massage, acupuncture, they cost money too. You can pick up a yoga DVD for cheap I'm sure.
773214 tn?1295135069 I have a yoga dvd that I got for christmas that is still in the package...lol... I am ashamed! But, I am not that lazy I promise. I walk for 30 minutes 4 times a week at least. I have a treadmmill at home, so I use that if it's raining and I do some stretches. I really need to do some light workouts for my arms, but I figure lifting the baby when he/she comes will get them right back into shape.
