Avatar f tn Has anyone tried yoga during pregnancy? I've had hardly any energy the last few weeks and I can't find the strength to even leave the house, I'm considering giving yoga a go? They have apps for pregnancy yoga, and I can do it in my own home. Is it safe?
Avatar f tn You could try, also, adding in 30 minutes of yoga 3 day/week. You also need some strength training, which can be done with light hand weights and moves, such as squats and lunges. You could alternate yoga and the strength training and take a walk daily. There are many other forms of exercise that are also very good, such as swimming, biking, dancing, etc. You have to do what you enjoy and will be able to stick with and can include in your schedule.
Avatar m tn a well rounded, basic yoga practice for beginners or for those wishing to review the fundamentals. Emphasis on breathing and healthy alignment. L2 -Moderate: an intermediate, moderately paced class which builds strength, flexibility, and concentration. Emphasis on breathing and healthy alignment.
Avatar f tn First of all, welcome! The good thing is you are young enough to still have good metabolism to help burn those extra calories and fat. Below are a couple of suggestions to aid in that process. You should start by observing what you eat and the size of the portions. Keeping a food diary of everything you consume (food and drinks) for just one week will train you to be mentally aware.
Avatar n tn 5 to keepy muscle mass for 30 mins daily and i do strength stuff but def will try so yoga.
400099 tn?1282954864 Has anyone tried yogability? Yoga from a chair...looks like it might be good. She teaches yoga to MS patients. For me, I can't walk that well, so I thought I'd look into it. Another way to empower myself.
649848 tn?1534633700 Omg I'm so happy to find your post. I'm 58 and have been doing wii yoga, strength and now ea active for 3 months. I'm so frustrated with no weight loss. I average 1000 calories a day. I'm NOT giving up. Thank you!
Avatar f tn No tingling or numbness, just a loss of strength especially in weight bearing yoga poses (handstand, upward facing bow, etc.) for my shoulders and when I do massages I can barely grasp or apply pressure with my right thumb and pointer finger. I don't know what to do! I love being active and my livelihood depends on it. I've been to the chiropractor with no avail. Thank you for reading, I appreciate any advice you can give!
Avatar f tn I am trying to find a workout video to help keep my strength and mobility. I have tried a yoga class. Did not do so well at it and personally didn't care for it. Any suggestions? Thank You.
Avatar f tn So, I just had my first prenatal yoga class and it was amazing. The stretches helped my lower back soooo much. I highly recommend it!
Avatar f tn Have you lost any of the weight gained? I am mortified that I've gained almost 8 lbs in 7 weeks! That's faster than a pregnant person. I am tracking my intake but the fact that I basically stopped exercising makes it hard to not gain. I know it's only temporary and it's an insignificant problem compared to what others are going through but it's really depressing that I can only wear yoga pants and it's not actually to do any yoga.
Avatar f tn I do pilates and some strength training, there are lots of good exercise videos on you tube for prenatal fitness. Squats are great, with a wider stance to acomadate the belly, pliate squats are perfect, you can lift light weights. Just listen to your body and dont push yourself too hard.
Avatar n tn But your a guy, so you may find yoga to be a little girly for you. The thing is, its very good for strengthening as well if you find the right kind. In that case, find the extreme "hot yoga". It tests your physical endurance for sure. Basically you do extreme flexibility and strength poses in a blaring hot room that is hotter than a sauna. Supposedly really healthy for you. But people who cannot endure it physically end up puking sometimes.
649848 tn?1534633700 Yes, strength training is good and actually yoga is a form of strength training, because it uses the body vs machines. There are certain poses that strengthen the core - which includes the stomach. Look up "down dog", "plank" and a couple others. But don't forget that as we get older (no you're not old, but I am...lol), our balance tends to weaken as well, so any yoga poses are good.
Avatar f tn There are plenty of exercises that use only your own body weight for strength exercises, or you can try yoga, which is excellent. You can google "yoga" and come up with hundreds of yoga videos.
Avatar f tn Light stretching helps alot with pains and aches, also you can take Tylenol extra strength but nothing else really, wherever you go take snacks with you and stay hydrated!
Avatar f tn 'any meditation or yoga practices' for "energetic" and emotional (psy) self-recovering
7149587 tn?1388555496 Dear Erin. As you know 1st get exercise plan cleared by your doctor. I have two ideas. One is called bed or couch Yoga. Mix with isometric exercises. All done on the couch or your bed as a platform. Personally I'm not getting on the floor to do things I can do while I'm using my bed for a yoga mat. I've been doing Yoga since my teens & there is just not that much difference. I'm not Guru Yogi for heavens sake. After you finish, get to a pool. Find one.
Avatar m tn I think yoga is like strength training and meditation..i think im not sure. Regular exercise along with a conrolled diet of healthy foods will help you lose weight. but exercise alone wont really help because if you still eat whatever you want your body is burning the fat your putting in not the fat your body has stored.
