7149587 tn?1388555496 All I want is to improve my fitness, which is difficult for me as an obese woman. Traditional exercise advice is not for fat people! I just need help safely shrinking my arm and thigh fat. When voicing your opinion please keep in mind that I am 5' 9", 240 lbs and have lower back and ankle problems.
Avatar n tn I am required to stand for long periods of time for my job, so obviously this is a problem, not to mention the fact that I am only, 21 and shouldn't be experiencing these types of problems. Again it ONLY happens when standing still for long periods of time. All other times it's fine. I notice when this problem happens,it is virtually impossible to bend over, without horrible pain.
Avatar f tn Alone with hormone therapy (if not balance) you may learn and regularly do or join class of Kundalini yoga. 1676558 tn?1305460105 Do what feels right for you. I myself want to get to around 170 which is a size 8 for me but all the charts say that is obese. I don't look or feel obese at that size. If you want a more formal opinion go to your doctor. They should messure your wrists and use other tools to calculte your "ideal weight". But you got to be realistic. At 42 it would be VERY hard for me to go back to 125 lbs. I don't even think I would look good being that small. And then again.

Avatar m tn Hi, your friends have no business making fun of you for being obese, more and more the research shows that the tendency to put on weight comes from a person's biology, not their willpower. Regarding "should I stop eating," no of course not. The body needs fuel, and you are in school so your brain does too. But one thing I can tell you from my own experience is that if I cut out sweet things, that is good for my body and often does help me drop weight.
649848 tn?1534633700 Well, Ranaesheart suggested the other day that I do a post about yoga, since I suggest it whenever someone new comes into the community, so I'm going to give it a shot. I must confess, I am definitely a novice with yoga myself, but I learn more as I go along. I know there are several different kinds of yoga, ranging from what I do, which is slow and deliberate to another type that is very physical. Each kind of yoga has its own name and no, I don't know them all.
Avatar f tn My bmi was 31 pre pregnancy I had horrible morning sickness... not sure what they called it lost 19 pounds because of it! I am a chubby girl but I got my baby bump and feel the baby (17 weeks feeling it since 13 weeks) also I should mention this is my 2nd. Anyways our bodies do what their supposed to even when were "obese". I have notice the us women that are over weight lose weight while pregnant.
14296391 tn?1434136829 I have 120 lbs to lose, at 5'11" I was 285 on Mon 6/8. I've started keeping track of calories and drinking 64 oz of water each day. I've lost 7 lbs in 7 days. I'm perimenopausal, have fibromyalgia, and I'm 46 y.o. I could barely move on Monday and I was extremely weak and exhausted all day. I started taking B complex vitamins on Wednesday in the morning which had helped tremendously with energy. I take one to two Aleve every day for pain.
Avatar f tn works best for us right now,but im losing weight,so later we might try different ways, for me being with a large woman more depends on how she takes care of her self, and how she carries her self.
428506 tn?1296557399 I'm currently 30w1d and a 34 yo frm. I'm also on the heavy side (obese by BMI standards). The primary exercise I've been doing during my pregnancy is walking. Prior, I was doing elliptical for cardio and also weights at the gym. However, due to my risk factors my docs told me to do more gentle exercise and to not let my heart rate get over 140 bpm. Thus I switched to the walking. In the past week, I've developed some strong lower back pain.
Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.
Avatar f tn Omg it's a life saver. I've been doing yoga for years & it's so good for your body but most importantly your mental state. I'm only 9 weeks but plan to keep practicing throughout my pregnancy. Just tell the teacher you are pregnant if its not obvious & they will give you options if there is anything you should avoid. Stick with it you won't regret it.
Avatar f tn Is beginner yoga safe while pregnant? Or would I have to do yoga for pregnant women?
Avatar f tn for all you guys that do yoga does your doctor recommend it or do you find it and do it on your own were would I look
Avatar f tn ) I exercise everyday and started yoga last week which is not only great for losing weight, you tone up and become more motivated and helps keep a more positive mindset. I drink a cup of green tea 3 times a day and drink at least 8 glasses of water. I also have a cup of black coffee in the morning with a couple of sweeteners. It's naturally rich in anti-oxidants and boosts metabolism!

Avatar m tn a) You're not "far from it", you are obese (your BMI's 36.9, merely overweight is 25-29.9). E.D.'s not uncommon at all amongst the obese. Sadly, >2/3rds of North Americans are overweight or obese. If you do not drop your weight quite a bit, you are at High Risk of getting diabetes, a Major disease. Obese people are at much heightened risk of stroke/death from heart/cardiovascular disease (so an E.D. drug might be Dangerous for you to use).
