Avatar f tn Symptoms for IBS can be triggered by certain precipitating factors. Treatment for IBS is avoiding triggering factors which initiate or worsen the symptoms of IBS like exercise for you – very sensitive bowel may react to normal exercise of everyday living. You can stop exercise and see if your symptoms are improving. Once stabilized, you can slowly introduce mild exercises like walking and then progress further. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from IBS/constipation for 15 years. I have tried every over the counter med possible, I have been prescribed medications, I have tried accupuncture, massages, changed diet, and currently I have a colonix once a week. I get so backed up that my stomach swells up to two inches. I am told the reason I am so constipated is because I have no muscle control in my colon. A highly recommended specialist from UAB, formerly from the Mayo Clinic, said I had two options. 1.
5553333 tn?1369941048 I am a little self diagnosed with IBS but I did pay a trip to the doctor and he said IBS could be the case, along with lactose intolerance. I am supposed to visit the doctor again in a few weeks and I have been learning to control my IBS. Do you think IBS could be the situation I am in? Or does it sound like something else?
Avatar m tn your symtoms looks like IBS. stress and anxiety triggers the symtoms even more . it will be best to consult a physician and take the necessary test before taking medication. i also suffer from IBS ,my doctor advises me to cut down milk, spices, fats, caffiene from my diet and to take probiotics , loperamide and multivitamins as my medication. you can as well include yoga, walking and meditation to reduce anxiety and improve your health. good luck and get well soon.

Avatar m tn Sounds like anxiety symptoms to me. Have you been to a doctor about this? Many people suffer from this in the same way you are. See your doctor about it and you can find some relief.
Avatar m tn m still having constipation and lower right abdominal pain. They are all assuming I have IBS, but the drugs for IBS do not relieve the pain at all. I always associated IBS with cramping type pain; this is not like that. It also gets worse after intercourse. I can manage the constipation with large doses of Miralax, but the pain is not relieved. I feel like all my doctors have washed their hands because all the tests come back with normal results, but I'm stuck with the symptoms.
1578864 tn?1296305385 I was diagnosed with RRMS in 1998 and been a fair selection of the various MS symtoms, MS the disease that keeps giving. Since I discovered yoga I have been given a tool to help me cope and even improve my condition. I have lived with Hayfever all my life and so after m wheezing concerned my friend I was given an asthma diagnosis. Impossible - I do YOGA! but apparently completely possible and yoga is the reason I had been able to cope to now.
Avatar f tn YOGA!! No pills or doctors--YOGA. I was waking up every night at 12:30 for 4 days with upper abdominal pain and I couldn't go back to sleep until the pain subsided after 2-3 hours. It was not acid reflux or GERD since I took a heartburn pill and it did nothing. I shared with this a co-worker who experienced the same problem and figured she was getting gas lodged in the wrong parts of her body so she did gas relieving yoga poses when she was in pain.
5614599 tn?1370968293 If all the tests to rule out other disorders are done and found to be negative, then the diagnosis of IBS is made. Besides IBS, your symptoms could be due to malabsorption, inflammatory bowel diseases and various infections of the colon. So, for now you follow some good lifestyle measures for the bloating to decrease. Eat food rich in plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, avoid spicy and fatty food, avoid smoking and eliminate alcohol. Do not consume caffeinated beverages.
Avatar m tn I think, personally, that was wrong of them to tell you that IBS leads to cancer, but it can occur as it can occur with any prolonged inflamation that isn't being controlled. I can tell from the medications you listed that you are someplace in EU... It appears they "are" treating you for IBS with an intestinal sedative, a fiber substitute, and something for excess stomach acid. Regardless if you are in America, EU, Canada, et al...
Avatar f tn I've had IBS for so many years now, but I always wanted to travel but I know that when I get nervous, theres no way for me to be able to go anywhere. I wanted to know if anyone has ever travelled with IBS and how do you control your BM. All I can think is will I ever find a toilet? What happens if I want to drive to another town that is a couple of hours away( like Montreal )? Please help overcome my fears of travelling.

Avatar n tn I developed adhesions (patches on legs where facia sticks together impeding circulation)and am trying to get over irritable bowel syndrome (what they call extreme gastric upset when they have no name for it) due to long term use of Celebrex for pain. I believe that the IBS causes a higher basal BGs.
Avatar m tn Suggest you talk to your Doc. about your anxiety. We all differ in what works for us. For me it's meds.activity & support from family/friends/this site. Breathing control/Yoga/Meditation/listening to music you like, or doing whatever pleases you. Relaxation techniques learned from someone that knows what it's all about will almost certainly help you to remain calm. Boost your confidence in ways you have used in past? Others will help to support you on site for sure. Good Luck.
1618577 tn?1388799444 You can have a gluten sensitivity (that can go along with IBS) and not have celiac disease. However if you are going to have bloodwork for celiac disease or an endoscopy with biopsies for celiac disease, you would want to start eliminating all gluten after you complete these.
9068836 tn?1401932120 One trick I know that works for me is working outside, doing manual labor, lifting and bending, and also yoga / Pilates moves.
Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.
Avatar f tn Omg it's a life saver. I've been doing yoga for years & it's so good for your body but most importantly your mental state. I'm only 9 weeks but plan to keep practicing throughout my pregnancy. Just tell the teacher you are pregnant if its not obvious & they will give you options if there is anything you should avoid. Stick with it you won't regret it.
