Avatar f tn I apologize that I do not know how your particular state addresses pain management for endometriosis. It is my understanding that in some states, some PMP insist you have to have an MRI that "proves" you have pain. They only treat certain types of pain. That is not the case in my state. It is our PCP that prescribe for and follow their chronic pain patients. I have to admit that I do not understand the refusal of some PMP to treat certain types of pain. In my opinion, pain is pain.
1109947 tn?1273678288 To my surprise he thought that was a great idea and said that most patients that have endometriosis generally lacked BETA 3 protein, which makes it virtually impossible for the egg to attach to the lining. Why had I not heard of this before??? You would think this would be a test that is talked about up front! I am disappointed to say the least that I had to bring this up, but I think now days most patients need to educate themselves so they can take a proactive approach on their health.
Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.
Avatar f tn Omg it's a life saver. I've been doing yoga for years & it's so good for your body but most importantly your mental state. I'm only 9 weeks but plan to keep practicing throughout my pregnancy. Just tell the teacher you are pregnant if its not obvious & they will give you options if there is anything you should avoid. Stick with it you won't regret it.
Avatar f tn Is beginner yoga safe while pregnant? Or would I have to do yoga for pregnant women?

Avatar f tn so ask them how they would manage bowel endo if they leave it, or put you on lupron or some type drug for it they are not true endometriosis specialists...there are not that many because of the extensive training and the fact that the surgeries for endo done correctly can take a long time and the surgeon doesn't get pain extra for this...so not many are willing to go the extra mile and so just recommend hysterectomy or lupron type drugs...
Avatar f tn Done the fodmaps, went paleo/whole food, I take vitamins, do yoga, walk/jog, and was a vegetarian for years but had to add meat in my diet to help me go and have some energy. If anyone has any suggestions, I really appreciate it.

374593 tn?1257879950 What are your opinions on Lupron for 3-6 months post-op, in order to achieve pregnancy in a patient with mod-severe endometriosis? From what i've ready I can't find any studies that say it increases conception rates, rather it may just make you asymptomatic during the treatment time. Do you ever use Femara for fertility purposis in Endometriosis patients - even though its blacklabel for this, it seems that it would make good sense? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have this as well. I recently realized it might be from pelvic floor dysfunction. I read up on sciatic nerve pain; in the majority of cases, it's not the nerve itself, but the muscles around it. If you have severe period pain like I do, it's likely you are tensing up your muscles in the lower half of your body in response to the pain. This can cause sciatic nerve pain as the muscles fatigue from being tensed for so long. I've done stretching and deep breathing to help.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with rather extensive endometriosis this past June during laparoscopic surgery for a rather large ovarian tumor (benign). I had suspected I had endo over a year ago, but had a hard time getting a different OB-GYN to take me seriously when I suggested it!
Avatar m tn I am so sorry to hear that you and your wife have been suffering through this. I have been battling Endometriosis for two years now, have been through every single treatment, drug, surgery, I've done it all. Here's the truth, there are NO doctors in St. Louis that are Endometriosis specialists. None. The OB/GYN's fertility specialists are trained medical doctors, who like to push medicine.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 19 yo who has had CHRONIC lower back pain ever since my period has first started.. and its gradually getting worse. I fell on steel steps when i was younger, and landed right in the middle of my back. I never had it looked at, but it was pretty bad. Ever since, I've had horrible back pain about two days before my cycle, and the first two or three days OF my cycle. During those first few days, i also bleed pretty heavy. I'd also like to add that i get A LOT of blood clots.
Avatar f tn I also found that nurofen plus helped with period pain and I did small yoga exercises that are really helpful for endometriosis
Avatar n tn s neurologist said aerobic exercise is better than yoga for tension headaches. But my daughter never feels well enough for aerobic exercise.
