Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections symptoms rash

yeast-infection

Avatar m tn On April 14th I had unprotected intercourse with another woman. The days passed and I did not think much of this encounter until a couple of weeks after the event a rash appeared on my penis. I went to a GP on May 14th and took a blood test. The doctor thought it was herpes. A couple of days after my blood test I developed a sore throat, then a runny nose, then a slight fever with fatigue. I diagnosed this as a cold and did not think much of it.
Avatar f tn symptoms dont mean anything because the same symptoms you are describing can happen to anyone. (with the exception of FEELING yeast). you can test now for a conclusive result.
Avatar n tn ive read that both yeast infections and anal bleeding are symptoms of hiv.
Avatar n tn t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
Avatar f tn I recently started birth control and apparently bc can cause yeast infections and rashes can be formed due to yeast infections but I have no symptoms of a yeast infection. I’m very worried, please help!
Avatar n tn In men, prolonged antibiotic use, presence of diabetes or impaired immune systems increases the risk of a yeast infection. Signs and symptoms of a male yeast infection include a reddish rash, and itching or burning at the tip of the penis. Most male yeast infections are easily treated with an over-the-counter antifungal treatment, such as Monistat. If the rash persists, it would be best to have it evaluated further by your doctor.
Avatar m tn I am thinking yeast infection because the incubation period fits and so do the symptoms (I have read that yeast infections and or monistat can cause a blister). Also I will add I bever saw this"blister" in a blister form, just some moist skin that is damaged and looks "torn away" leaving some raw skin exposed, no ulcer syptoms. Sorry for the long question. looking to calm my anxiety. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I need to get to my doctor because what I thought was a yeast infection, now looks more like a severe heat rash/prickly heat. and the discharge I thought I was having was apparently an orgasm -_- my body is confusing lol I took an oatmeal bath around 815pm, got out at 845 and put Jergens Ultra Dry Skin Healing lotion on the red areas and i feel better. The only thing that's really uncomfortable is where i scratched myself.
Avatar m tn Can some initial herpes infections have symptoms that are misdiagnosed as yeast? Yes, but it is rare. If a yeast infection has typical symptoms and is professionally diagnosed, almost always it was truly a yeast infection -- not herpes. And yeast infections commonly are associated with small, linear fissures. Such lesions can be a sign of herpes as well. But still, yeast if by far the most likely explanation of your problem.
Avatar n tn All web searches on yeast/fungus/candida infections in men seem to imply it occurs only on uncircumcised penises. Can it occur at all on a male who is circumcised? If a male has jock itch, can the penis be involved (itching), again -on a circumcised male?
Avatar n tn m also not an MD, but I wonder -- especially with the dangerously high blood sugars -- about yeast (candida) infections. Normally, yeast infections thrive in warm moist body areas, but they can spread and unfortunately, the systems of an uncontrolled diabetic are quite pleasant for yeast to grow. It's important for your dad to work with a doc who's very well versed in diabetes and perhaps that doc will also consult with other specialists. I hope he'll find some relief soon.
Avatar f tn The symptoms were fine for a bit but now have retuned. No burning urination, itching. I went back and the yeast is still present, still no bumps, blisters, or even a rash. There are moments throughout the day where I don't even have any symptoms. I occasionally have back and leg pain, but I also work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. My last sexual exposure was a year ago, unprotected.
Avatar m tn Thank you doctor. When I first went in, it was to a ready care and the doctor who looked at it said it could be a yeast infection, but she did not test for it. Are there other fungal infections that aren't yeast infections? And how would I go about getting tested for it? From what I understand, they rarely test or treat men for this and my rash doesn't stay very long, but the tingling, annoying sensation remains and is becoming fairly annoying. Thank you for all of your help, again.
1151771 tn?1262025120 My daughter is going to be 2 in March and she has been suffering from yeast infections that never go away for almost her entire life. Started out when she was a baby as thrush that lasted almost a month and a half then everything went away for a few months then thrush came back and didn't go away for another couple months. Then we really didn't see anything again for about 6 months when it started in her private area.
Avatar m tn I also read somewhere that antibiotics could help produce yeast infections in women... Is that true for men too?
Avatar n tn m thinking it could possibly be a yeast infection but I had a few questions to the symptoms of an anal yeast infection. I have searched the web but can only find good information on vaginal yeast infections but considering I am a male that is not very helpful. Here are my questions.... 1.) Can the yeast infection last 5 weeks? 2.) I have noticed a glue-like whitish substance forming on the rectum and crack (not sure if its a form of discharge or from the skin), is this a possible symptom?
Avatar f tn Also, every women has different symptoms. I never had the fishy odor and that is one of the classic symptoms.
Avatar f tn t think it looked like herpes, treat what she thought it looked like and go from there. Yeast infections under the foreskin are very common. if you are concerned that you might still have herpes, follow up with a type specific herpes igg blood test 3 months after the last time you had sex.
Avatar f tn If your getting yeast infections it means your sugars are very high and not controlled.
Avatar m tn I am so confused right now whether I have genital herpes or just a male yeast infection. I have a red rash on my scrotum that started off small but has spread. It doesn't itch alot but if i do scratch it I feel relief. There has been no blisters on the rash itself which makes me think it isnt herpes. I also have burning/stinging at the tip of my penis constantly, not only during urination. if i pull open my urethra I can see a sort of greyish ulcer..
Avatar f tn Seven months ago my boyfriend and I began having sex, and about two weeks later I started my period but noticed that I was having major pain and itching internally and externally towards the end of my period. I went to the OB/GYN and I did have a yeast infection for the first time ever. I wasn't on any birth control, nor taking any antibiotics, not pregnant, and the pap came back normal with no diseases.
Avatar f tn How do they test for yeast infections? I had an appointment about a week and a half ago and told my midwife I thought I had a uti because I always had to pee but when I went , nothing came out. so she made me pee in a cup. They never called me back so I'm guessing I don't have one. But, now that symptom went away and I'm just really itchy down there! I know that's a sign of yeast infection but do you think she tested my pee for that too when I went last time ???
Avatar m tn While persons with HIV get more yeast infections than people who do not have HIV, this occirs primarily in persons with advanced HIV which has been present for years, not months without therapy. In addition, most yeast infections occur in person who do not have HIV.
Avatar n tn Welcome -- but unfortunately you posted this in the wrong forum. Questions about specific STDs other than HIV/AIDS belong in the STD forum. There is nothing in your symptoms that suggests herpes; I'm sure that is not the cause. If you search the STD forum for "herpes symptoms" you can find a large number of discussions that should help you understand why I am not suspicious of herpes. I'm equally certain your symptom are not due to any other STD either.
