Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections symptoms dogs

yeast-infection

Avatar n tn I recommend starting by taking your dog to your veterinarian for assessment of the itch and medication recommendations. The most common reasons for itchy skin in dogs include skin infections, microscopic skin parasites such as scabies mites, food allergy, or pollen/dust allergies. Since scabies mites are difficult to find, I trial treat dogs for scabies with Revolution every 2 weeks for 3 treatments.
1241045 tn?1268250883 Can you put tubes in dogs ears like children? She also gets yeast in between her toes and is always licking them. And the smell is aweful! I was told it could be allergies, but the test for dogs is expensive. We have tried changing her diet and she still gets ear infections.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, anti biotics are useless against 'yeast' infection. 'Yeast' is a fungus. Anti biotics are useful against 'bacterial' infections only. And the over use of anti biotics can lead to yeast infections as the anti biotics break down the body's own natural defenses. Your use of the word 'prone' makes me wonder if she has received too many anti biotics. I would suggest that you try to build up 'her' natural defense system.
1100598 tn?1413127426 My Holistic Vet prescribes it for ear infections and/or Yeast Infections.......I have used it for years before he ever made mention of it...... Other things for you to do: Add Wet food for at least one meal a day.....Extra moisture will help keep toxins flushed from her system and is vital for healthy organ function......No dog should live on dry food alone.... Next: You need to add a good probiotic to her meals....
Avatar f tn Also, every women has different symptoms. I never had the fishy odor and that is one of the classic symptoms.
Avatar f tn Seven months ago my boyfriend and I began having sex, and about two weeks later I started my period but noticed that I was having major pain and itching internally and externally towards the end of my period. I went to the OB/GYN and I did have a yeast infection for the first time ever. I wasn't on any birth control, nor taking any antibiotics, not pregnant, and the pap came back normal with no diseases.
Avatar f tn How do they test for yeast infections? I had an appointment about a week and a half ago and told my midwife I thought I had a uti because I always had to pee but when I went , nothing came out. so she made me pee in a cup. They never called me back so I'm guessing I don't have one. But, now that symptom went away and I'm just really itchy down there! I know that's a sign of yeast infection but do you think she tested my pee for that too when I went last time ???
Avatar m tn On April 14th I had unprotected intercourse with another woman. The days passed and I did not think much of this encounter until a couple of weeks after the event a rash appeared on my penis. I went to a GP on May 14th and took a blood test. The doctor thought it was herpes. A couple of days after my blood test I developed a sore throat, then a runny nose, then a slight fever with fatigue. I diagnosed this as a cold and did not think much of it.
5629636 tn?1371253040 I am heart broken over my dogs chronic ear infections. There has GOT to be something better that I can do to help her. She is absolutely miserable. We've done venison, bison, poultry, fish diets. I won't feed her anything beef because she's definitely allergic. We've given her prednisone, kentaconazole, used the antiseborrheic and cleansing solution, Surolan, Mometamax & Posatex. NOTHING works. My poor dog is miserable and I am in tears watching her go through this.
209987 tn?1451935465 Yeast Infections of the ears are almost always related to FOOD.....You must clear the initial infection up, then get ALL GRAINS out of anything you feed......A good probiotic (Human form or Dog form ) will also help....

Avatar f tn My 9 month old lab keeps getting reoccuring yeast infections in his ear. The vet perscribed drops and a cleaning solution. We were able to clean them the first couple of times but now he won't let us come near him with the solution or drop.. He bites and barks at us. Giving him carrots, treats, his favorite bone to distract him doesn't work. Any idea how to help make this easier?
Avatar n tn t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
Avatar n tn yeast can be normal in dogs mouths so it could be contaminating the underwear. We can also have yeast in our mouths in low numbers too (normally). Yeast infections are not sexually transmitted but can be associated with oral sex. So you could actually transmit them to her that way and then infect yourself. So this is a complicated question. Also, you could be getting it from just sweating during sex. The moisture may be causing you to get yeast or another fungus like joch itch.
Avatar f tn If so, This will be my 3rd yeast infection in about a month. First time it was a yeast infection and BV. Doctor believes the 2nd yeast infection came from the antibiotic for BV. I just feel like I'm getting the symptoms again and I really hope not. This can't be healthy for me or my baby. It's driving me crazy!!! Anybody else going through this? I'm 17 weeks ftm!
Avatar f tn Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in your vagina and will cause infections. 2. Avoid bread and sugary foods as much as possible. If there is yeast in your vagina it is in the rest of your body too and sugar will just feed it. 3. Use condoms if you have sex. You CAN give a yeast infection to a guy (they usually get no symptoms) and then he will just keep passing it back to you. 4. Eat yogurt with live cultures in it - sugar free is best, but any kind helps. 5.
Avatar n tn I am 20 years old and I too have been suffering from recurrent yeast infections, or so says my gynecologist. What symptoms were you experiencing with your yeast infections at the time? And to what body areas did you apply Synalar?
Avatar f tn Latly i been getting a lot of yeast infections i never had them before ....when my doctor gave me medicine it was a one day pill i had relief for two days then it came back so i baught a three day treatment from walgreens and its worked for a week or so and now.
Avatar n tn You need to make an appointment with your vet to see what the cause of the redness is. If it's in both ears, it could be caused by allergies or he could have a yeast infection in his ears. A yeast infection, while not as easy to clear up as a run-of-the-mill ear infection, CAN be cured with medication.
Avatar f tn We have two dogs, a 3-year-old beagle-boxer mix and a 10-year-old rottweiler-chow-lab mix. Last summer they developed the same habit of chewing on themselves. The older one lost patches of hair on either flank, along the majority of his tail, and thinned hair in various spots on his legs. The younger one lost hair on his rump and around the base of his tail.
Avatar f tn Taking birth control/hormone treatment pills – As your body adjusts to a new regimen of contraceptives or hormone treatment, you may experience yeast infections. With treatment and after adapting to the introduction of hormones, these symptoms should go away.
Avatar n tn Margot makes a good point about yeast infections, which commonly occur in or around the ears, but also on other parts of the body. If your dog has been scratching his ears excessively, then there's an indication of a yeast infection. Also check his body all over looking for dry, reddish brown skin or areas that have become crusty in nature. You can ask your vet to perform a thyroid function test, which is easily done from a blood sample.
1429136 tn?1287209602 Also, lift the ear and take a whiff. It will small bad. You may need to take special care of your dogs ears. Those long droopy ears need regular cleaning and possible hair pulls. My last dog got chronic ear infections as a result of vaccinations. The vets couldn't clear up the infections. They kept giving me stronger and stronger medicine to the point where I was burning the inside of her ear. I finally took her to an acupuncturist that does animals.
Avatar n tn when my dog does that its a infection from me bathingher, water causes ear infections, does it have a yeast smell if so needs meds to clear it up.
