Avatar n tn I need to get to my doctor because what I thought was a yeast infection, now looks more like a severe heat rash/prickly heat. and the discharge I thought I was having was apparently an orgasm -_- my body is confusing lol I took an oatmeal bath around 815pm, got out at 845 and put Jergens Ultra Dry Skin Healing lotion on the red areas and i feel better. The only thing that's really uncomfortable is where i scratched myself.
Avatar n tn Hi, It is possible for a man to contract a genital yeast infection if he has unprotected sexual contact with a partner who has a genital yeast infection. However, sexual transmission of yeast infections is uncommon. In men, prolonged antibiotic use, presence of diabetes or impaired immune systems increases the risk of a yeast infection. Signs and symptoms of a male yeast infection include a reddish rash, and itching or burning at the tip of the penis.
1151771 tn?1262025120 Hello, From the symptoms initially as it was a red skin rash, so it most likely is due to eczema. Yeast infection presents with red rash which is very itchy. Another possibility can be diaper rash which can occur due to contact dermatitis to the material of the diaper and urinating and sweating makes it worse. Use cotton diapers for some days and expose her to the air for some time after urinating and washing.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. As to your questions: still no itching, no burning, no "hot to the touch". Live alone; only people I've been in close contact with in past 7 days (daughter-in-law, young granddaughters, & sister) don't have a rash. No to sexual contact, no to shaving/waxing/exfoliation. Have dealt with several bouts of yeast skin infections in the past; this is different.
Avatar n tn I used anti-yeast infection cream on the skin as i thought it might be thrush related. The doctor said it doesn't look like classical herpes but there was no yest present internally either. Today, now that my period is over, I noticed a clumpy discharge. Also, this morning I rigorously scratched the area, perhaps opening the skin so now it hurts to pee. What is going on???
Avatar m tn The terminology can be confusing, made even more so by the shorthand used by some physicians. As you may know, fungi are large group of organisms. Yeasts are a particular group of fungi. Yeasts (and other fungi) include those that do and do not cause human infections. Yeasts -- mostly Candida albicans and other Candida species -- are the most common cause of genital fungal infections, especially in women. So many providers have the habit of calling all genital infections "yeast".
Avatar n tn Fungal or yeast infections may favor areas like the groin and other warm and moist areas in the body. Yeast infections are not necessarily sexually transmitted. Direct skin to skin contact may aid its transmission. I suggest that you avoid unnecessarily touching the area as this may only further irritate the skin. Another differential is a dermatitis. Would you be able to point out known triggers for the condition? Is the area itchy?
Avatar m tn On April 14th I had unprotected intercourse with another woman. The days passed and I did not think much of this encounter until a couple of weeks after the event a rash appeared on my penis. I went to a GP on May 14th and took a blood test. The doctor thought it was herpes. A couple of days after my blood test I developed a sore throat, then a runny nose, then a slight fever with fatigue. I diagnosed this as a cold and did not think much of it.
Avatar n tn Causes of itchy anal rash include moisture(due to sweating or frequent washing), the abrasion caused by clothing, the pressure of sitting, chemical irritants like laundry soaps, colognes and scented toilet paper, certain food irritants, medicines like some antibiotics and laxatives, infections like STD’s and pinworms, anal abrasions and fissures and skin problems such as psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema. Sometimes hemorrhoids will start off as red rash and anal itching.
Avatar n tn An allergic reaction seen in contact dermatitis could also give rise to a red rash. Yeast infection may cause a rash in the moist skin folds of the vaginal area. In yeast infections there will be cheesy white discharge seen. Fungal infections can also cause rashes and itching. These are only a few possibilities. A clinical examination by a doctor will help in determining the cause. Treatment will be specific for the cause. Best luck and take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, Candidiasis is the most common yeast infection of the skin. Since you are having recurrent fungal infections, so it is important to do a fungal culture of the skin scrapings of the affected area to confirm the type of fungal infection you have. Till then, wash the affected skin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton clothes and do not share other people’s towels.
Avatar n tn m also not an MD, but I wonder -- especially with the dangerously high blood sugars -- about yeast (candida) infections. Normally, yeast infections thrive in warm moist body areas, but they can spread and unfortunately, the systems of an uncontrolled diabetic are quite pleasant for yeast to grow. It's important for your dad to work with a doc who's very well versed in diabetes and perhaps that doc will also consult with other specialists. I hope he'll find some relief soon.
Avatar f tn yeast infections can cause the genital skin , which is delicate in nature, to bleed. be seen monday for a proper exam and testing to make sure it's a yeast issue going on and to get proper treatment for it. you can give the leg rash some extra tlc until it heals. something like a cornstarch based powder or even a barrier cream like desitin or aquaphor are often useful to help reduce friction until the skin heals. avoid sex at this point until your infection has cleared up.
Avatar f tn I recently started birth control and apparently bc can cause yeast infections and rashes can be formed due to yeast infections but I have no symptoms of a yeast infection. I’m very worried, please help!
Avatar f tn No fever, but he has red spots on his legs and torso. And what looks like a diaper rash. We were told the rash was a yeast infection treated it with nystatin and it started to clear then got worse. I have picures if anyone can help.
Avatar n tn I just googled this for you and I hope it helps Michelle The Group A beta hemolytic Streptococcus germ causes numerous infections, chiefly of the respiratory tract, but also involving other organ systems, chiefly the skin and lungs. The throat infections themselves are rarely serious and ordinarily, like most repiratory infections, are handled by the immune system without too much difficulty.
Avatar f tn Along with specialmom's recommendations, I'll point out that for some babies, yeast infections that look like diaper rash are a problem. Moms can think they are just garden-variety diaper rash (who knows but that might always have a yeast component too), but then they sometimes find that using a yeast-killing cream on the baby's bottom works a lot better. I used to keep Vagisil in my son's diaper bag for that reason.
Avatar n tn I first noticed the rash soon after I was sitting in the sand/coral beach and getting alot of it stuck in my anal area. I have had yeast infections in the past in the vaginal area but do not believe it to be this. Could the coral have caused it?It has been a week now and it is spreading and getting worse.Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Is there anyway to prevent yeast infections? Other than staying clean down there. This is my 4th pregnancy and I get them constantly throughout my pregnancy. I'm 4 weeks along and already have developed my first one.
410943 tn?1202262442 My Niece is 1 yr old and has had 3 yeast infections already and the doctor is not being helpful. Does anyone know of anything that will help eliminate this?
290018 tn?1240365868 Try the monistat, the way you are describing it is exactly how most of my past yeast infections have started. I am very sensitive and get them easily. Get the monistat 3 day or even the 1 day, (three day has worked better for me in the past), then if its not better by the time you go to the doctor, they can test to see whats going on.
Avatar f tn Not only can you get a rash you can also develop yeast infections
Avatar f tn Also check to see if you are diabetic, as recurrence of infections is more common with diabetes. An allergic reaction to the underwear is more likely to cause a rash on the skin. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Our genital skin is not completely smooth and a chicken skin like appearance is normal and sometimes is more pronounced than others. Were you by chanced checked for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally at any time during your initial symptoms? Genital dryness isn't just something that happens in older women. Being on the birth control pill and infections in the genital area can cause it too.
Avatar m tn So I had a terrible breakout on my entire penis shaft that was extremenly itchy and red. It began to flake and produce bumps along the rash that looked like poison ivy (without the fluid). I had a primary care doctor take a look at it, she said it was NOT herped or warts. She scraped a piece of the skin onto a slide, left for about 30 minutes, came back and said... "yep its a fungus." SO...
Avatar m tn I am so confused right now whether I have genital herpes or just a male yeast infection. I have a red rash on my scrotum that started off small but has spread. It doesn't itch alot but if i do scratch it I feel relief. There has been no blisters on the rash itself which makes me think it isnt herpes. I also have burning/stinging at the tip of my penis constantly, not only during urination. if i pull open my urethra I can see a sort of greyish ulcer..
