Avatar f tn So, I'm in my first trimester and pregnancy is already making me experience the wonderful world of yeast infections. I went to the doctor to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection and it is. He didn't prescribe me anything because he said it's too early and to wait until the second trimester, but I've heard of natural remedies, such as the garlic clove in the vagina that cures yeast infections. Has anyone tried this during pregnancy? Is it safe?
Avatar f tn Plain natural yoghurt. Dunk a tampon (non aplicator kind) into the yoghurt, get a decent amount on there and insert then leave in for a hour or so. Dont put it too far up, its best to sit down while its in, watch tv or something and then remove...u will need to put a liner on after taking out. If its not gone by the next day, repeat. Ive never had to do this more than twice.

Avatar m tn There are some natural remedies such as inserting garlic, lemon juice and yogurt but generally putting anything into the vagina worries me as it can compound the problem. Question, can you call your mom and perhaps see a gyno under their insurance?? Just for second opinion?
Avatar f tn i dont know of any home remedies..
Avatar f tn Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria and yeast in your vagina and will cause infections. 2. Avoid bread and sugary foods as much as possible. If there is yeast in your vagina it is in the rest of your body too and sugar will just feed it. 3. Use condoms if you have sex. You CAN give a yeast infection to a guy (they usually get no symptoms) and then he will just keep passing it back to you. 4. Eat yogurt with live cultures in it - sugar free is best, but any kind helps. 5.
Avatar f tn I have been having complications with yeast infections, someone suggested taking a natural supplemental probiotic, since I can't stomach yogurt, has anyone ever done so while pregnant? I've read online and can't seem to get a straight answer.
Avatar f tn how do i safely treat yeast infection? Is there a natural supplement to help during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn My most helpful things: 1) Anti-inflamatory diet. Can't say enough good about this. No stabbing pain since the diet change. I have lost 10 lbs. and feel really good. 2) Pro-biotics. 40 bucks at a health food store. Re-introducing all the good bacteria that the anti-biotics destroyed along with the bad. I feel like it is restoreing my immune system. 3) Calcium Benzonite Clay. (or healing clay) also from a Health Food Store. Applied to the breast like a poltice. Draws the infection out.
1138188 tn?1312341243 I am 23 weeks pregnant and seem to be getting recurring yeast infections! I have used the OTC medications and honestly have never really been comfortable with it! I am wondering if there is any other at home treatment i can try thet will be safe for my baby and I?
Avatar f tn m so glad you are interested in natural remedies for yeast infections, because although sometimes it is okay to use antifungal medications, it's preferable to avoid them for a multitude of reasons. Basically, you have a garlic clove, you peel the crusty skin off of it, cut off the dry parts and insert. It doesn't have anywhere to go, and if you bear down like you are having a bowel movement or urinating it is likely to come out (though, you might have to reach up and grab it...

Avatar n tn My gf gets yeast infections regularly and has been told her body doesn't produce enough friendly bacteria. So, we think the two of these tie together. It affects our sex life and I know there are remedies to increase the friendly bacteria, can you recommend some good ones?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Avatar m tn i know a thing or two about yeast infections but as for the redness around the vulva thats new to me. it could be due to an infection coming from the yeast infection or probably due to other factors in her life. the best i can offer is to try and keep clean that area and to make sure she does not wear clothes that are too restraining in the crotch region, she needs to let it breath alittle down there and wear cotton undies. comfort and clean is the way to go.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, anti biotics are useless against 'yeast' infection. 'Yeast' is a fungus. Anti biotics are useful against 'bacterial' infections only. And the over use of anti biotics can lead to yeast infections as the anti biotics break down the body's own natural defenses. Your use of the word 'prone' makes me wonder if she has received too many anti biotics. I would suggest that you try to build up 'her' natural defense system.
Avatar n tn t have to use what the physician recommends, you can choose to treat it with natural medicine, but you first need to know what it is to know which remedies are appropriate.
Avatar f tn I have never heard of a yeast infection being linked to preterm labour, but I am not a Dr. either so I certainly don't know that for sure. I do know you shouldn't just ignore it, nor should you try to treat it yourself with an over the counter remedy. You should see your Dr. I don't know it this applied to yeast infections, but I do know that small issues can be bigger problems during pregnancy and your Dr. is the best person to diagnose and treat you appropriately.
Avatar m tn I have been having recurrent yeast infections for the past 8 months (about once a month) and I noticed that the very first time I ever got it it was very painful and itchy, but as its progressed over the past 7 months, they have decreased in severity and intensity. I have one right now and its not very itchy at all, just the usual discharge which also isn't very much.
