Avatar f tn I have diabetes and even though my sugars are pretty good I get yeast infections quite often...I try to keep up on eating yogurt regularly and my dr said okay to taking acidophilus pills so I do that and seems to help. Also sleeping without underwear so it can air out...
Avatar f tn How do they test for yeast infections? I had an appointment about a week and a half ago and told my midwife I thought I had a uti because I always had to pee but when I went , nothing came out. so she made me pee in a cup. They never called me back so I'm guessing I don't have one. But, now that symptom went away and I'm just really itchy down there! I know that's a sign of yeast infection but do you think she tested my pee for that too when I went last time ???
Avatar f tn Seven months ago my boyfriend and I began having sex, and about two weeks later I started my period but noticed that I was having major pain and itching internally and externally towards the end of my period. I went to the OB/GYN and I did have a yeast infection for the first time ever. I wasn't on any birth control, nor taking any antibiotics, not pregnant, and the pap came back normal with no diseases.

Avatar n tn The less yeast he has the less yeast you will have. Also, I find that during the week before my period starts I am much more prone to yeast infections and of course if I eat a lot of sugar or drink several glasses (sometimes just 1) of wine. It takes a lot of monitoring! Good luck!
Avatar f tn I am a t my wits end, I must have used every treatment there was out ther. Any suggestions on how to clear these up. I know the dogs are miserable too.
Avatar f tn Well, I guess you could consider asking your partner to get checked for fungal infections, but that's not the most common way to get yeast infections. Here's from a different website. Not all of it applies, since for example you don't douche, but I'll post it all because you're not the only person ever to write in with this question. One of the ideas I had is that you might have passed the yeast infection to your partner (as mentioned here), who then passed it back to you.
Avatar f tn I used to get yeast infections every time I had intercourse. The only way I was able to stop this from happening was by douching with a vinegar and water rinse right after having sex. It was a major inconvenience but it definitely stopped the ongoing yeast infections. And on those occasions when I was too "lazy" or "relaxed" to get up and douche, the infection would return without fail. A vinegar douche really does help, but it is a major "mood disrupter.

9771234 tn?1405793808 Please do not put yogurt in your vagina. That's not how that works. You eat the yogurt to help prevent and help eliminate yeast infections.
Avatar n tn The OTC one clears it up but it seems to come back. I am not doing anything to cause it to come back. I am not having intercourse or nothing. I am wondering if I need to go with a 7 day treatment of the more potent stuff and see how that goes. If that is unsuccessful should I call my doc and get the oral drug to fix?
525485 tn?1314361301 I know that during pregnancy, you are allowed to use Monistat or over the counter treatments similiar to monistat (store brands) to treat yeast infections, but I was wondering if there were any oral medications you can take. I know that you cant take diflucan (fluconazole ~generic for diflucan) but I was wondering if there was anything else. My doctors office is not open yet so I will be calling them when they are available, but was wondering if any of you ladies knew anything about this.
Avatar f tn I believe I have one now, but is there any way I can treat it w something over the counter instead of going to my gyno? I been to my gyno 5 times this year already due to yeast/bacterial infections. Btwn school and work I have no time for a docs appt!! Do you think my dr would prescribe me diflucan over the phone w/o seeing? Also what r some over the counter medications that will clear it up if she won't prescribe me something w/o seeing me?
Avatar n tn This is the first time I have had thrush that I have had to go to the Dr to seek a Dr advice because it is extremely itchy and red on my vagina and on my inner thighs. The medication has been working, although slowly, but I am now concerned that the redness is not going away. Its been 1 week. How long should I wait before the redness goes away until I go back to the Dr since I am diabetic?
6014380 tn?1378523315 What I would suggest as I have had chronic yeast infections since I was 15 I am 36 now. I went to see a naturopathic doctor and she gave me this herbal called Candacin and I was to take that daily I can't remember the dosage plus stop eating yeast, sugar and gluten for 3 months. You should see a difference. I mean mine was chronic. It would just not go away.
Avatar f tn In terms of healing time, you should really consider taking the oral medication diflucan. Some people (myself included) are allergic to the creams that treat yeast infections. For me, it felt like my symptoms were continuing on and on, when in reality the yeast was cured and I was having an allergic reaction. In terms of the UTI/cludy urine I would go back to the doc. Cloudy urine could be the presence of white blood cells (possibly there's still an infection).
Avatar n tn I want to add something to what I already said. I have had a couple of patients with this problem. It is possible that it is a yeast related problem. Very possible. But it could be that your bowels aren't cleaning out (this could also be due to yeast), Go to the grocery store and buy the yogurt "Activa." Eat a little container of it every single day. Do this why you are following the yeast-free diet in the book I recommended above.
Avatar f tn I would seek help from your gyn. It's not normal ( IMP ) to get yeast infections everytime you have sex with him. That too me would mean that he is dirty down there. The only time when I get yeast infections and UTI, is from antiboitics or when me and my boyfriend have sex and I go striaght to bed afterwards and sperm stays inside of me.
