Avatar n tn It is a common complaint in the first trimester and there are better ways of controlling yeast or fungal infections. I can point out Borax and the Hydrogen Peroxide 3% (Food Grade) as good options. Research online and have a great pregnancy and a safe birth!
Avatar f tn m in my first trimester and pregnancy is already making me experience the wonderful world of yeast infections. I went to the doctor to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection and it is. He didn't prescribe me anything because he said it's too early and to wait until the second trimester, but I've heard of natural remedies, such as the garlic clove in the vagina that cures yeast infections. Has anyone tried this during pregnancy? Is it safe?
Avatar f tn Yes I took antibiotics several times throughout my pregnancy and even in my first trimester. I had a serious problem with vaginosis and then yeast infections because of the antibiotics. It was a vicious circle. K-bug is a very healthy 9 month old now.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had bacterial vaginosis during their first trimester? Any stories? Or advice until treatment?
1054108 tn?1314298660 I took the same meds in the first trimester and didn't have any problems. The dr said not treating it can put you at risk for losing the pregnancy. Good luck and feel better!

639543 tn?1297027634 s a cream, I read the label for it and it said that in 2% of pregnancies it causes complications during the second trimester and even that little amount scares me - but I called the pharmacist that perscribed it to me and he said it doesn't go into your blood stream like taking a pill does, and that he was comfortable with me taking it - so would that be okay? I told my doctor about it and he said if I thought I had an infection to take it.
Avatar f tn I think I am getting yeast infections but I don't know...
1697869 tn?1306766843 Amoxicillin is considered safe during pregnancy (it is Preganncy Category B). Have you seen your doctor about the yeast infection? There are medications that are safe to use during pregnancy for yeast infection.
Avatar f tn Im a ftm im wondering are yeast infections normal to get? Had one in my first trimester nah how one in my second.
Avatar f tn I had severe yeast infections during my pregnancy...they were so bad that I could barely pee without burning. Anyways my OB prescribed me diflucan. But I believe it was during my third trimester. During the first one, I was told to use Monistat 7. It's safer to use monistat 7 instead of 3 or 1 during your first trimester since it releases small amounts of medication with each dose.
Avatar f tn I have also started carrying some clearsil pads with me to wipe my face with during the day. This seems to help a bunch. As for the yeast infections try some yogurt, about one serving a day.

Avatar f tn OK so I here yeast infections are very common during pregnancy. I believe I have one. This may be a little to much info, but my vagina has a itch followed by a little burn. Avatar f tn Is there anyway to prevent yeast infections? Other than staying clean down there. This is my 4th pregnancy and I get them constantly throughout my pregnancy. I'm 4 weeks along and already have developed my first one.
Avatar n tn m 15 weeks 3 days I just finish antibiotics for Bacteria Vaginosis and now I have an yeast infection.. My doctor told me to do the Monistat 7 treatment. Has anybody ever used this or had an yeast infection during pregnancy? Can it cause preterm labor?
Avatar f tn ve never heard of that antibiotic, and my mother works for a gyno. But I have had three during my pregnancy, I am 35weeks. They were the most horrible yeast infections I have EVER had. I used only monistat. I did use the cream one time, but it didn't help and didn't work, and it's not my preference in general, but the pill type one that is inserted the same way, worked best and staid in best. I did it right before bed. Seven day is probably best.
Avatar f tn was always told over the counter meds were fine, but during first trimester to only insert tube halfway. Also I found that spending the extra $ on the name brand was worth it, it works much better. And only use seven day cream, 3day & 1day were too strong & could soften ur cervix.
Avatar f tn Bacterial vaginosis and yeast only sstay in the vagina.
Avatar f tn My nurse practitioner said there are 4 types of yeast and that the usual meds only treat the most common 2 types so she did a swab test to find out what type of yeast it is. I find out Thursday so I'll keep you posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone gotten a yeast infection in the 2nd trimester? I feel like im getting one and ive been eating lots of yogurt but i have azo yeast pills and cream at my house but not sure if i can take the azo pills. Has anyone experienced this?
652407 tn?1300737199 Some women get extra discharge b/c of hormones....I know I got lots at first. Keep your eye out though cuz yeast infections are common but because it's so early talk to your doc first if you need treatment. My pharmacist said it's not good to use the creams in the first trimester, not sure why. Eat extra yogurt for now just in case.
Avatar n tn I know that the first trimester is the most crucial time and was just wondering if anyone has any advice that may be helpful. Any do's or don't's. I just want everything to go smoothly obviously and want to make sure I'm doing everything possible in my baby's best interest. Thank you ladies in advance!
Avatar f tn My husband and I have the same thing going on, its more then likely the discharge, the meds for the yeast infection will help her with the itching and burning but it will help alot if you both wash before and after sex.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering for chronic yeast infections. I'm so itchy I can hardly sleep. . I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant any suggestion on to treat w/ out prescriptions . I would use nystatin but read it might not be safe for 1 st trimester any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . My dr said to us monistat but its not working.
