I have frequent yeast infections and my Dr says it's normal but I'm just wondering if it's commin.
im 18 ive only had on sexual partner and i have a light vaginal discharge with a smell,i have no itching swelling or anything like that. i went to the doctor and she gave me a cream and said that sometimes its normal to have vaginal discharge she gave me a seven day cream for yeast infections.My bf went down on me and i was wondering if anything can happen to him?.the smell has gone away since i started applying the cream and it wasn't a transmitted yeast infection but i was worried.
But over the years and since i became sexually active I have had more and more yeast infections. Now it is becoming unbearable. I have had 5 yeast infections within the past 5 months. They come after any kind of sexual activity or my period. But i've noticed now that my clitoris has been swelling. I have burning and itch like crazy. It is almost impossible for me to not itch. I have used monistat every time and is not helping as much as it used to.
That's a good idea. I'll bet they will be more attentive in the hospital. Its always best to be safe. I think Ur doctor should have checked it out better and took a swab. When I was pregnant with my daughter 9 years ago I would get re occurring yeast infections and they weren't ever the way u describe Ur symptoms. Hope all is well and u get some relief.
For the past few months, I've been experiencing what feels like aching and swelling in my inner thighs. I experience the discomfort more during the first few days of my period. I also have been experiencing reoccuring yest infections. I'm a little concerned about this because I'd had unprotected sex with somone I did not know very well back in November.
Swelling is common with yeast infections and, unfortunately, there are a fair number which can be resisitant to standard OTC treatment.
You mention a yeast infection in another post, and yeast infections are common with antibiotics. Prednisone is used for internal swelling, allergic reactions, arthritis, those types of things. It heads off inflammation.
No I had swabs and stuff and they came back clear,dont have thrush/bv or aanything. There was nothing itching or anything. Just really red/sore/swelled. Although the doctor did make me take two doses of 500mg of caneston pessary and cream still, and its been three days since I took the pessary. And I used the cream today. I think I have also had a reaction too the cream as it seems to have made it a whole lot worse. Honestly just want to be normal..
Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.

I've heard you can take monistat for a yeast infection. But I would talk to your doctor first. Treatment for a yeast is different than bacterial, and you should make sure you don't have any other complications before starting something.
then later itchiness and i knew a yeast infection was setting in because we had a lot of dry sex and i always get yeast infections after dry sex. so anyway i chug water for my uti and buy monistat 1 for the yeast infection. had a horrible reaction. swelling, pain, itchiness, redness and my left labia was much more swollen than my right! now that the swelling went down i decided to check it out down there, thats when i noticed a firm bump that itches and is sore.
Clindamycin (generic for Biaxin) can be a tough one. Some people have no problems with it, but some do, like me and apparently you. I got waterlogged (edema) with swelling all over, but esp in my legs. It may have been some other chemical was out of whack in my body, but the LLMD too me off the drug right away. I still don't know what caused my problems.
Another possibility which can sometimes mimic herpes infections is a yeast infection. While many yeast infections are characterized by a thick white discharge, in some cases the only sign is redness, swelling at itching.
My suggestions are:
1. Stop applying local home remedies. Some of the things you are using can be irritating in their own right and could just confuse the issue. Vaseline will almost certainly not help an could make it worse.
2. Keep the area cleaned and dry.
A few days ago I started having itching, irritation, burning and curd-like discharge and I immediately thought I had a yeast infection. So I started taking AZO yeast. Then yesterday I noticed swelling inside my vagina. I think it's my urethra that is swollen but I'm not sure. If I use a mirror to see and open my labia, there is something swollen that is basically blocking the entire hole. I don't have the burning with urination any more, but still itchy and irritated.
Swelling and painful itching can be a sign of a yeast infection. Frequent urination with pain could be a bladder infection. The rash later that day could have been an allergic reaction caused by lubricants (even water based can give people an allergic reaction) or condoms (although it doesn't sound like you used one?). There are even odd cases of women being allergic to a man's sperm. If your partner has a sexual history or any known STDs or STD symptoms you should probably get checked.

I have been speaking with people on the herpes forum as I believed that is what I had. I am waiting to see my doctor on Tuesday as that is when she will be back in. My encounter was in Feb and 2 weeks later I came down with vaginal irritation and swelling. They tested me for all STD's and I came up negative, my yeast test came up negative as well. She didn't do a herpes test because there were no lesions present.
I used to get yeast infections every time I had intercourse. The only way I was able to stop this from happening was by douching with a vinegar and water rinse right after having sex. It was a major inconvenience but it definitely stopped the ongoing yeast infections. And on those occasions when I was too "lazy" or "relaxed" to get up and douche, the infection would return without fail. A vinegar douche really does help, but it is a major "mood disrupter.

I had my left wisdom tooth extracted 4 days ago. My cheek is still very swollen and the swelling has spread right across under my chin. There's an area on my cheek thats quite hard when touched and painful. Still finding it difficult to open my mouth and my gums also seem to be aching off and on. Could this be an infection?
What you might have is a condition called vulvodynia. I guarantee you this is probably what you're experiencing. If you're prone to yeast infections, the probability of vulvodynia increases greatly. I've had several yeast infections this year and I've developed the symptoms, which led me to start researching yesterday.
