Yeast infections and ky jelly

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections and ky jelly

yeast-infection

Avatar f tn Petroleum jelly is the absolute worst thing to use as a sexual lubricant. Its really hard to was off well because its oil based & it can seal in the bacteria and yeast and cause more infections or make them worse. They can even cause UTIs and bladder/kidney infection because the bacteria can get pushed into your urethra & because the petroleum doesn't get flushed out when you pee, it can travel up into your upper urinary tract.
Avatar m tn Hi there and welcome. In all honesty, we can't diagnose what this is. You can try an over the counter fungal medication for yeast. They do often work and that is a good first step. Do not ever douche as that increases the risk of the vagina having ph balance issues. More infections will then follow. If that over the counter medication doesn't do the trick, then by all means, see your doctor. Bacterial vaginosis is well known for the odor it creates.
Avatar m tn Hey, Im 24 and have yeast infections regularly. they can be treated naturally with herbs and bio yoghurt. Just look for the symptoms of curd, cottage cheese like discharge and feeling very dry but it shouldnt make you feel sore during intercourse as it tends to be sore all the time. Ive been researching all sorts of stuff for a while for my own issues and came across and natural reaction that the vagina can experience. its called dyspareunia.
Avatar m tn Other things to check on that may be causing the problem is to ensure you are using the proper lubricant (such as KY jelly) if the area you are entering is dry to avoid friction on the penis. If your partner uses douches, body sprays, or if you are using sexual body butters, or lotions or anything else that is scented it could contain colognes, perfumes, or alcohol, you could be having a reaction to them as well. If you are having sex too frequently this may be the cause.
Avatar f tn So I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago because I had vaginal irritation and she told me that I had a yeast infection. She gave me an antibiotic, but the vaginal irritation is still occuring along with anal irritation now. I also have a little bit of bright red blood after I go to the restroom from my anus. I just don't know what could be wrong. I have also been tested for STDs and HIV and I have none, so I just can't figure out what is wrong....
Avatar f tn Indulge in plenty of foreplay or use water based lubricants like KY jelly before and during intercourse. Apply warm compresses and wear cotton clothes. If the symptoms persist then get it checked out from a gynecologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Avatar f tn Give ur body enough time to heal from the yeast infection...
600721 tn?1229100572 s what I was diagnosed with, after the infections finally managed to disappear, after months of continuous yeast and BV. I will most likely have this condition for the rest of my life. The usual treatment is with anti-depressants, but because of some personal medical history, I can't use them. They just don't work well on my psyche.
Avatar n tn Hi to anybody who wants to know, now just google sea salt and yeast infections, sea salt and bv or sea salt and the vagina, your find some very interesting results, if sea salt is so bad for women how comes all the women who swim in sea water never get any problems, my wife swims in our salt water pool naked, 3 to 4 times a day during the summer and never gets any problems, and there are whole generations of women who swim in sea water every day, they never get any problems.
Avatar m tn The discharge smells, feels and looks like my discharge normally does. When I rub KY Jelly on my vagina and don't wear pants and underwear, it doesn't itch or feel sore. Is my vagina irritated, or is this a sign of something else?
Avatar n tn As bobdylan1958 says, use lubrication. You can buy KY jelly or different makes and use it on yourself and also on your partner. I would not recommend applying antiseptic cream to your genital area. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Wearing underpants of light material such as cotton and avoiding wearing tight jeans and underwear may help. The creams and lotions may only cause further irritation. Wash the area with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. Dry the area very well. You may use a water based lubricant or KY jelly over the area to avoid any constant friction with the cloth . Discontinue KY jelly if further irritation ensues.
Avatar f tn Sometimes it takes a bit of time for those symptoms to relieve. Some woman get irritated from friction, are easy access to yeast infections, may be allergic to latex condoms or the jells that can be used during sex, and so many other things. And/or just need some education on their woman parts. There are many reasons though that you may have swelling and they should always be addressed properly. A woman's body is amazing and mind boggling! We are all different, with individual issues.
Avatar n tn I went back to the doctor this past week and he prescribed Diflucan, which is apparently a common pill for yeast infections. Here I am 5 days later and there is no change in my "rashes." In fact, I have a new red spot. The spots do scab, but it's a loose scab that's more flaky. As an important side note, the rash (which never goes away) always seems to flare up after having sex (with the KY or without) and after I masturbate (with or without lube). My question is...
Avatar m tn Hello All a month ago i have sex encounter with a sex worker she did a bit of lick and unprotected oral sex on my penis and then she put on condom for me i was not very hard when i penetrate her and the erection failed halfway when i pull my penis out the condom was rolled up half way and hanging. Avatar n tn I agree with MrsPincince but I have never tried KY Jelly so I can't speak on that, what I can say is find something in foreplay that will get you wetter than normal.
Avatar n tn After sex i have itching in my labia major. It seems to be from peeling skin and not yeast infection. Ive only had one sexual partner and only after sex, but it lasts for a few days at least.
Avatar n tn I am 29 yr old, married for last 3 years. During the course of sex, I normally don’t tend to get wet & as a solution for this we used to use KY Jelly. Now that we are planing for a baby…….i have heard that using artificial lubricants is not good when planing for a baby……coz of which now we don’t use any lubricants, but without any lubriacnts we have trouble in having sex during the ovulation days……can any one please help me with a solution for this?
Avatar f tn If your man is tearing your vagina, try using lots of KY-Jelly, this will lubricate your vagina and make it less likely to tear. Also when ever your in the shower, use 'FEMFRESH' vagina wash - its in an orange bottle - you can buy it at coles near the tampon isle! It helps balance the PH of your vagina which will keep it clean and avoid infections... hope this helps mate.
1139597 tn?1292874871 Did you all know that KY Jelly is not good for sperm? I did not know that. My hubby and I use it all the time. Do you think this could have caused the miscarriage? I just bought some pre-seed and I bought the clear blue easy OPK. I am not obsessing I just want to make sure of when I ovulate.

1428239 tn?1333457053 I have been doing a lot of reading on lubricants as I am an avid user of KY jelly.. We always do foreplay but generally use a little bit to start then use a little bit on the tip of his penis, etc for easy insertion. I have been hearing and reading about the potential for it to kill sperm, or make them immobile. I have also read about pre-seed and even the general use method (using the little tube to insert it) doesnt seem to be how we would use lubricant so I cant see how that would help.
