Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infections and hpv

yeast-infection

Avatar n tn The recently found hpv in your system and the yeast issue are unrelated. Yeast is an overgrowth of fungus due to decreased levels of good bacteria in the body, primarily the stomach area.
Avatar m tn s hard to get rid of yeast infections - this time of the year especially we are all sweating and it just encourages the yeast to over grow frequently and come back easily.
Avatar f tn Can I get HPV (genital wart) if I touched an infected towel and then fingered myself or touched my genitals?
Avatar f tn Recently, I have been going through so many crazy situations with my vaginal area. About a month ago I noticed a bump. I have only been with one person my entire life. Well I went to the doctor and they had told me that it was supposedly Hpv but I had the shots for that. So I scheduled a papsmear and they also tested me for hpv. Results came back good and I didn't have hpv. It was actually a skin tag. The doctor said they are commonly mistaken for hpv.
Avatar n tn I have read that a subclinical hpv infection can cause skin itching, but it is hard to diagnose (usually needs a biopsy) and they usually only look for it after ruling out everything else. They should first check you for other infections like bv and yeast which are more common causes of itching. As far as the itching goes, it is important not to scratch because it will only make things worse plus possibly tear up the delicate skin down there.
Avatar f tn but it really sounds like you might just have a yeast infection though...yeast infections make your vagina itch and hurt, and you kind of get this unclean feeling, and alot of discharge...they can also make it burn too, but mostly its a sour feeling....
Avatar f tn I would almost be 100% willing to bet that this is thrush (Oral Candida Infection). This would be caused by antibiotics, and is quite common (as are yeast infections in women caused by antibiotics). I've never read of HPV causing a tongue coating. In other words, I wouldn't worry. I would suggest having your doctor prescribe some Diflucan. This should clear up the yeast infection and the thrush.
Avatar f tn Can yeast infections branch into ovarian cancer, I just have tried everything under the sun to get rid of it and I've had it for 12 years just wondering if I should be worried..
Avatar m tn Sexually active (mostly protected) . Girlfriend gets yeast infections (I assume I do too) but never diagnosed. Last yeast breakout itched to the point of broken skin on scrotum but no blister.Anal itch... Treated for hemorrhoid s at one point. Please help make sense of it all.
Avatar m tn t have any visual symtoms or any pain, I have a little itch. My mother gets yeast infections and i know i am at risk to get them because we live together. Could you help me? I have no idea what to do. Or what I might have.
Avatar f tn I’ve have had recurring yeast infections infections since an assult and now been diagnosed with high risk hpv too. It sucks I have itching discharge and burning but doctors don’t think hpv would be causing it. Is it possible you could get a sti screen at a sexual health clinic or at a medical Center? I was convinced I had warts but turned out they are just normal bumps so who knows ..they really looked abnormal. I still question it.
Avatar n tn I used to use amoxillin (an antibiotic) for almost any cold/flu/sore throat/fever and now im beginning to think whether this has been the cause for my yeast infections. Im a healthy person with a good diet and physical exercise. If someone knows the answer, please please let me know. I have been avoiding the gyno because I dont have a GP yet and its very expensive. But I think I might have to resort to one as I dont want to find out I have HPV or cancer or STI or some ****.
Avatar f tn At the time, I experienced a major drop in my immune system. I got PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and multiple UTI and yeast infections. After a few months, everything cleared up and all was okay until lately. Now, almost a year and a half later, I have another very painful PID. My questions are: Is the PID caused by HPV? I've been screened for other STDs and I'm all clear. Did I contract PID from a sexual partner?
Avatar f tn Possible yeast or bacterial infection would be the most likely cause. And yeast infections, if left untreated, can spread to your butt and groin area. I know a older lady who didn't realize she had a yeast infection and it spread to her legs. Uhh I couldn't imagine. I would go back to the doctors and ask them to do a swab for vaginal infections. You shouldn't have to suffer like you are. No treatment is required for men unless they have visible warts.
Avatar n tn t seem to be related to HPV. Most HPV infections are asymptomatic in men, and if there are symptoms it is usually genital warts. If your symptoms have not cleared up, go back to the doc and see what is going on.
Avatar n tn He thinks it is a combo of yeast and HPV causing my symptoms. He put me on terconozole and I do feel a bit better. However, when I test for yeast it comes back negative but yet I feel better. I know it can't be HPV as you said but am wondering can yeast not show up in a tests and still be there??? I've been tested at least 3 times. I guess it has me confused as I wonder than what is the purpose of the test if it doesn't show up?
Avatar n tn This was in Ireland 2 months ago,she took some test because she had some rash and was discharging fluid from her vagina after a week and a half we had sex,she went to her Doctor and told her it was a yeast infection and informed her about the PAP results, she missed all these years.I felt some rush too after a week we had sex around my groin area , it was itchy and was on my testicles and tights.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I am pretty sure it is HPV, but it seems to be geting worse. I have been tested recently for HIV, and that was negative...
Avatar n tn my question is my bf thinks he has herpes because he has what looks like an outbreak or it could be hpv but im not sure. we had unprotected sex but all my tests for hpv and hsv2 came out negative twice and each test is about 6 months apart, but im having some itching and burning each month after my period i usually tend to get yeast infections after my period so thats normal for me but now i keep taking prescription meds for yeast infections which helps alot but no fully.
Avatar m tn HPV never causes irritation or redness of any kind; and new HPV infections cannot cause symtoms of any kind (e.g. warts) sooner than 2-3 months after exposure. And herpes is almost as unlikely; it never causes diffuse skin redness of the sort you describe. My guess is that this is some sort of physical or allergic irritation, e.g. in response to a spermicideal cream, or a perfume, etc that your partner may have used; or you might have picked up a yeast infection from her.
Avatar f tn They did test the secretions for yeast and bacterial infections. The doctor said yeast was present but not large enough to call it an infection. He also tested for syphllis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV. I was diagnosed with HPV about 10 years ago and haven't had a breakout since. This isn't what I remember the breakout as. I really don't think it is HPV, but i'm grasping at straws. Would a herpes breakout last three weeks and not go away with Valtrex use though?
Avatar f tn I suppose there is a theoretical possibility that you got HPV and cleared it, as is normally the case with HPV infections (most HPV infections clear without therapy in 18-24 months following infection), but either way, your negative test is strong evidence that you do not have HPV. 2. Even lower. HSV is less common than HPV, less readily transmitted and the fact that you did not have an outbreak following this exposure pretty much rules out the possibility of HSV.
Avatar n tn Okay, I have history of getting yeast infections and UTI's and recently its been an on going battle. I've been very itchy and I called my gyn and told him and he gave me Diflucan to clear up a yeast infection and something to insert to cure a bacterial infection. This helped for 3 days and now the itching is back. There is no discharge or smell and no cottage cheese looking stuff either. It is red and I have been using gynecort (itch cream) to stop the itching. What should I do?
Avatar n tn All web searches on yeast/fungus/candida infections in men seem to imply it occurs only on uncircumcised penises. Can it occur at all on a male who is circumcised? If a male has jock itch, can the penis be involved (itching), again -on a circumcised male?
