Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection while nursing
yeast-infection
Antibiotics will not get rid of a yeastinfection. They can cause a yeastinfection actually. Your doctor can prescribe Diflucan (not sure if I spelled that right) but it's a pill you take one time and your your yeast infection will be gone in 2 days.
Has anyone taken diflucan for a yeastinfectionwhile pregnant. My doctor gave it to me yesterday and I read that it has Not been proven safe for pregnant or nursing women. And no smart comments about "your doc wont give you anything unsafe to take while prego" because I started bleeding a WHOLE bunch last night/this morning around 1am and I had to go to the hospital. That's why I'm asking.
So I think I have a yeastinfection is it okay to take over the counter meds for it? Not the pill but the cream? I know it's tmi sorry :/

I had a yeastinfection in the beginning of september and my woohoo is kind of sore like it was then. What are some things that cause yeast infections and what can I do to keep them away? Also, Im ttc and am over a week late (so possibly pregnant) will it harm the baby if Im pregnant and slow down the conception process? (obviously if I know I have a yeast infection I wont be having sex but are there after effects of it and conception?
If its just a yeastinfection you can use monistat safely. Eating yogurt daily and reducing the amount of bread you eat is supposed to help prevent future yeast infections.
But now I have this burning feeling in my breast and read that it could be a yeastinfection. It just started yesterday and today I decided to stop feeding him by my breast and just pump. I'm boiling all bottle and pump supplies for 20min. Do I need to see a doctor or can I get rid of it on my own since it just started? Or is it something else and I'm just freaking out?
For the yeastinfection you can try eating yogurt. That is a way I was told to help prevent getting yeast infections and if I got one it would help balance things back out.
Stay in contact with your dr also and see if there is anything else they can do to help you.
I'm sorry you're having to go through so much. I hope both you and your little one are doing well.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Do not try to have sex while you have a yeast infection or are taking the medication. Give yourself/body time to heal. The infection can be spread to your partner causing him similar symptoms and discomfort. Give it a few days(or at least until you finish the medicatio) then resume the fun and games.
Any time I have taken antibiodics and knew it would result in a yeastinfection, I took the yeastinfection medication the day after I took the last antibiodic. Mostly because the antibiodic is much more powerful.
You need to go to doctor, you should try to get an appt ASAP or go to er, I had an yeast infection when I was somewhere around 34 weeks with my daughter
It was so uncomfortable , they will give you antibiotics
Ive had a yeastinfection with my son and my daughter. Yes antibiotics can throw off your PH balance so you could possibly have an infection. Any burning or discomfort should always be addressed with your OB to get proper treatment. In the meantine, drink only water and natural cranberry(no cocktail-too much sugar) and try to eat yogurt daily.
