Treatment resistance can be overcome by applying a cream with a combination of antifungals (Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%) and oral antifungals.

I've never had this problem before because I have never had intercourse the day after final treatment. I have no idea what to do, should I just leave it alone and see if the inflammation goes down on it's own?

Avatar n tn So this is my first yeast infection-sexually active with my fiance. i first started it right before my period, and it continued afterwards so i went to my dr and got a perscription for diflucan, one pill treatment. it's been about 3 days and i'm still producing the white discharge and am very slightly itchy still but otherwise feel fine. how long does it take for the diflucan to work usually and is there anything else i can do to speed it along?
Avatar m tn How long were you on the treatment? I forgot what I was given when I got a yeast infection from the antibotic I was on. But it was just one pill, and plus a 3 day cream treatment. Sounds like you need another dose of medicine.

I was finished this treatment on wednesday, and then over the weekend I started to feel some discomfort and a bit of itching down there, only closer to the opening of the vagina now.
