From the description in your post , it sounds like a recurrent yeast infection. Yeast infectionis very common in areas of the body that swaet and that retain moisture, like skin folds.
Consequently they are seen in regions of the body like genitals, underarms, under the breasts(in females), thighs( in over-weight individuals), hands and feet.
Intertrigo, on the other hand, is a yeast infection of skin folds caused by Candida albicans. It usually occurs in areas of the body that have skin touching skin such as the armpits, groin, and under heavy breasts or fat folds. It is characterized by an intensely red, macerated, glistening rash with scaling on the edges. The edge of the rash extends just beyond the limits of the opposing skin folds.

help with my beagle, she,s had been on antibiotics from surgery on leg , she has now developed irritation in skin folds around the vulva ....red and swollen pretty sure its yeast infection/fungal just wondering can I use human products like canestan/clotrimozole cream on that area.. would it hurt her if she licked the cream. I also started taking Pro-biotics to help kill off the yeast in my stomach and could see the dead yeast in my stools. All the symptoms of the yeast infection are gone for good. But when I still masturbate using lotion (which I've used for years), my penis will get slightly irritated and turn reddish around the folds between the shaft and the head.

Last year my doctor diagnosed the rash at the base of my genitalia as a yeast infection. Later on, I decided to get a second opinion from a different doctor and clinic, and was told that the rash i have "doesn't look like an std", but the doctor was "on the fence" about it being a yeast infection. Now, what is there looks flaky/white/red when inflamed; blistery at times, and also flaky/"chalky" in my 'folds'.
Nothing has worked. The crusty and red areas in the folds around her nose I clean with water every day using a little dog herbal shampoo. Then apply a little Desitin which keep the symptoms down for a day or two only. She also gets crusty red spots with hair loss in the red spots on her rump and haunches. also have used vicks vapor rub trying to get rid of the skin folds, when they open back up they are very painful with yellow centers and red outside edges, the strange thing is these black particles or pebbles pop out of my skin when pulling and stretching outward trying to get rid of these skin folds so that my skin does not feel so tight. recently took terbinafine which seemed to help some in eliminating the some of the skin folds and white mark scars.

Sometime the redness area will be come dry and flakey and causes it to itch and burn. At first I thought I might of rubbed the skin raw, seeing as how I switched from a lube to baby powder for my solo acts. But after laying off the solo action for a month now the redness and such has not gone away. Please any advice would be welcomed.
