Yeast infection in sinuses

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection in sinuses

yeast-infection

Avatar f tn Hi, Really going out on a limb here, but that seems so strange. Could it possibly be a yeast infection? Wondering if the yeast would be because of the "yeasty" smell of bread.
Avatar m tn If your sinus infection is in your upper sinuses (sphenoid, frontal, or upper ethmoid) your results may not be as obvious on your first attempt. Don't give up. When you feel that your sinuses have been cleared, continue the procedure twice a day for at least 2 days afterward, to prevent any residual infection from growing back and causing sinus problems again. After you have flushed out your sinuses, some saline solution may remain inside your head.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply and advise. But i am not so concerned about the UTI, and i dont have a yeast infection. I am more concerned about the stomach issues and the way i feel when i have these flare-ups, and how to get those under control. I guess not too many people have the same issues, as i see not too many reply's huh. In anycase i will keep your advise in mind :-) Thanks again.
Avatar f tn So for three weeks I had a sinus infection. My sinuses were inflamed and I was put on 3 different rounds of antibiotics including, allergy pills, steroids, albudural and many others. I then had a CT scan of my sinuses but they said they couldn't find anything. \ While I had my sinus infection I had a lot of pressure in my head. I wasn't sleeping or eating. Now that they say it isn't my sinuses I have no idea whats wrong.
Avatar f tn The smell comes on, often, as a result of a cold or sinus infection. Some, not all, of these smells are caused by an anaerobic bacteria thriving in the upper sinuses, and I was able to remove mine with a Flip-Turn Sinus Flush, and many other people have had success with it as well: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for writing and going into detail. I appreciate it. It was rather alarming to hear about the possibility of congestive heart failure! Both my Mom and Aunt had it. I'll go over and check out the "Heart Failure Solutions" area, as you suggested. I'll try to follow as many suggestions as I can. Unfortunately, I have a completely destroyed knee (OA) and can't do running or vigorous walking and heavy exercise. I am drinking a lot of water now.
1466984 tn?1310560608 Many doctors have explained to me over the years saline is the best solution because id moistens the sinuses, helps reduce swelling, and kills infection. Also drink lots of water. Anytime you think you have an infection of any kind flushing out the cells with as much water as possible is the best solution. Feel better. Alex Most people will have congested sinuses on a CT scan or MRI, that is what my doctors have told me.
2792668 tn?1340126001 An ENT said I had a bacterial infection in my sinuses and put me on antibiotics but my sinuses still have the burning/dry pain and I just keep getting worse. I am wondering about tuberculosis in my sinuses and moving to my spine/neck and muscles. Anyone familiar with these symptoms or with TB?
Avatar m tn I am not a hypochondriac(sp) but I am when I notice a difference in my body. Its a coincedence that I have an infection in my throat and a yeast infection-unless all of it is a yeast infection. The two days Ive spent incredibly stressed out about this has taught me a major lesson. People with herpes or an STD arent "dirty". It is sad that I see so many forums telling people how dirty and damaged they are. Because something bad happened to them.
Avatar m tn This will help to loosen up the thick congestion in the sinuses, as well as in the Eustachian tube which runs from your ear to your throat. Because there is some question with regard to the safety of consuming live yogurts whilst being on antibiotics, I suggest that to help avoid any fungal problems you can consume live yogurts when you have finished your antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I have had sinuses really bad for the past 6 months now and 2 months ago I had a sinus infection which was the worst pain I have ever gone through so far and it was mixed with the stress and anxiety I had around the time I started school in the fall but that has all calm down somewhat.
999560 tn?1262998155 THE ODOR OF THE SMELL IS LOOK A SEX SMELL I AM WONDERING WHY I WOULD HAVE THAT KIND OF SMELL COMING OUT OF MY NOSE . I DO HAVE A SINUS INFECTION IN AM TAKING ANTI BOTIC FOR IT IN A NASAL SPRAY.BUT CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT KIND OF SMELL WOULD BE COMING OUT OF MY NOSE. NO JOKES PLEASE REALLY TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY I HAVE THIS ODOR FROM THE NOSE.I WILL BE MAKING A APPT WITH MY DOCTOR CONCERN THIS MATTER. ANY AT ADVICE. I AM MARRIED.
Avatar f tn s very possible you have a sinus infection, but only a doctor can make that diagnosis. If your tooth is infected, the infection can leak into your maxillary sinuses. But once again, a doctor visit is recommended.
Avatar f tn It starts to feel like chronic fatigue with a sinus infection. Antibiotics just make it worse and give the yeast more real-estate. What helps is the Candida diet (which sucks at first but helped relieve my sinus symptoms in a few days) and sinus rinses like NielMed (only use distilled water) are great. Besides the baking Soda salt mix in the sinus rinse, people can add 1/2 tsp Xylitol. It keeps things from sticking and keeps down bacteria as well.
Avatar n tn Maybe your doctor can get a culture of your sinuses to see what is growing in there. It could possibly not be bacteria, yeast can cause infections as well which would require a different med all together. Sometimes sinus rinses help as well. I have had many infections and have used rinses to help clear the gunk out of my sinuses with success. You should discuss this with your doctor and see what he says. I hope this helps..
Avatar n tn Are you also in a sexual relationship? Is it a new one since your last herpes blood test, and has your partner been tested? Taking an antibiotic can definitely cause a yeast infection, and it all could be attributed to that. Herpes would depend on the questions I asked above, and yes - further blood testing at the 4 month mark from your last sexual encounter would make sense if you did not know your partner's herpes status.
Avatar n tn I am certain that my sinus issues (as well as dry eye, and lots of dental issues in my twenties) were a direct result of the HCV infection. I never had any of these problems until in my early twenties when my liver enzymes began to elevate. Of course many years later I found out what this elevation was caused by! I would be very curious as to how many out there have noticed a similar connection to their HCV infection with the sinuses. For years I had to use nasal sprays, medications, etc.
Avatar m tn Four about 3 1/2 years, I have had dryness, burning, and pain in my sinuses. It has been accompanied with ringing in my ears, extreme fatigue, and memory problems. The sinus problems seem to slowly be getting better by taking high doses of spirulina and colostrum. The fatigue got much better with high doses of Vitamin C. I actively participated in oral sex until I got sick, but with only one partner. I have been leaning toward either yeast, HPV, or another type of virus infection. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Hello, Upper respiratory tract infections can lead to inflammation of sinuses which in turn lead to excess production of mucus which on non drainage can lead to pressure on the sinuses and hence headache and a feeling of light headedness. The sinuses are air-filled spaces lined with mucous membranes surrounding the forehead, cheeks and eyes. Are you having any nasal congestion or post nasal drip?If yes, then sinusitis may be the causing pathology.
Avatar m tn I had a similar situation but in different circumstances (no CPAP, but a fungal infection from some yeast-based priobiotics I was taking) and it really needs to be properly diagnosed and treated with the meds that are effective against whatever the bug is (whether fungal or bacterial or whatever) and also preventive measures taken to ensure you are not accidentally re-infecting yourself with a possibly dirty CPAP system -- so I think you are on the right track with your questions.
Avatar n tn So now I am stuck with my sinuses flaring up. Im 11 weeks and no idea if there is anything safe to take in order to get some of this to go away so I can breath!? Anybody have any ideas that are safe??
Avatar f tn Make sure you take probiotics if they prescribe an antibiotic for a bacterial sinus infection. Mayos clinic states that 80% of sinus infections are caused by fungus (yeast) and yeast responds to rain. My head is like a freaking barometer, lol. Probiotics might do the trick on their own.
Avatar f tn I would say you have a sinus infection. And you could possibly be having the start of bronchitis in your chest.
Avatar m tn Many patients get confused by pain in their face. Naturally one assumes that pain there must mean that the sinuses beneath must be the source. This is sometimes true, but many times not. The CT clears that up for you. If your symptoms do not resolve, you should see a Neurologist. Several types of headache and facial pain diagnoses exist and can be treated.
Avatar m tn get tested for allergies, and start taking allergy shots. After time, the chronic inflammation in the sinuses will begin to subside, and drainage is less impaired. For the acute infections, I take a medrol pack (methylprednisolone), which immediately reduces the inflammation and allows drainage, and an antibiotic such as levaquin, cipro, or whatever is appropriate for the bug (culture is absolutely necessary). DO NOT let the ENT put you on antibiotic for anything less than 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn A thyroid nodule can feel like something stuck in your throat - has your doctor considered that? An oral yeast infection can also feel that way.
