209987 tn?1451935465 Our newly acquired "Hero" is going through yet another round of yeast infection in her ears. Before my dad passed away, I remember him saying something about how Sheba was constantly going through this. He had tried many things over the years...took her to the vet who would rinse her ears and then apply some sort of cream inside them. Dad said that he would dish out about $80 or more each visit, and the relief for her would not last long.
Avatar m tn Or if you have a good vitamin supply store hand where you can get one in powder form with no soy, yeast, corn, salt etc, so it's safe for cats. The older cat can use 500 mg mixed in her food the kittens you'll need to use less...probably 250 mg mixed with a drop of water and given by syringe or dropper. They will need to use this for weeks (6-10) the brand I buy from iherb is by NOW foods.
Avatar f tn Both of them had/have darkish discharge but after swab test( yeast infection was detected) we got ear drops and after them it was clear. Now discharge has come back We got as well advocate (3rd pipette was applied and nothing has changed). Before this we fed them (two months) veterinary diet and it was not any better. Where I can make skin tests in Edinburgh? My vet don't want to do them.
1391959 tn?1280439862 Your doctor might be able to give you something else, because like you said Yeast Infections ARE common in pregnancy so there has to be something... Your doctor or local pharmasist can tell you SO much more.. and hopefully give you something to help.
Avatar f tn Best way is for the doc to look down the cat's ear with an otiscope. Cats can have a lot of dirt in their ears (dust sticking to their ear wax) without it being mites, but you want to know if mites are there because they can literally chew the tissue.
Avatar n tn I never heard of cats having yeast in the ears. What does it look like? How do they get it?
Avatar f tn My 8 year old daughter has a reoccuring throat infection that requires antibiotics. She took 7 or 8 rounds of it last year and again this year seems to be getting it again. I do not want her to build up antibodies or become allergic to it. I know antibiotics are good here and there, but too much isn't good for you and if I can find a way to help her avoid her throat infections, I'd like to eliminate the need for antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I haven't heard of cats getting yeast infections! The 2 that I mentioned are very common!
Avatar m tn can a male develope a yeast infection in his penis by receiving oral sex - in other words does having someone give me a blow job cause a yeast infection?
Avatar f tn Allergies can just be allergies and not evolve into cancer. My dog actually has had recurring yeast infections and then we finally did allergy skin testing. he's been on allergy shots for years now and hasn't had any yeast in his ears in many years. It was costly and took a long time to kick in but SO worth it. but before jumping into testing try a strict elimn. diet it could be a cheaper fix.
Avatar m tn Ringworm is especially common in kittens and cats, while yeast and bacterial infections are more typical in dogs. The ears are lined with skin, so itchy ears in both dogs and cats are an extension of the same types of infections. Your veterinarian will need to make the correct diagnosis in order to properly treat the infection. However, one thing that vets don’t talk about much is why infection occurs.
Avatar n tn an urinary tract infection, vaginal infection, or an infection of the skin of the perivulvar area. The infection could be bacterial, yeast, or a combination. Usually urinary tract infections are accompanied by the symptoms of increased frequency of urination, and/or drinking, dribbling, or inappropriate urination. However, occasionally the only symptom is licking the vulvar area.
Avatar n tn You can get a bacterial infection from having sex with someone who has one or just from having poor hygiene in general. What type of bacterial infection do you mean?
Avatar f tn it certainly sounds like ear mites as ear infections of that severity occur less in cats then in dogs. It should be very easy for your vet to diagnose ear mites. a little mineral oil in the ear (to trap the mites) and then examining a swab under the microscope is all that is needed. you will be able to see the mites swimming around and then the correct medication can be prescribed.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've had a couple bacterial infections and recently I've noticed some little white bumps in the vaginal area. I was wondering if this could be from the bacterial infection? Or if it could be from a yeast infection? I have an appointment tomorrow but it's really worrying me and I was just looking for some answers.
591069 tn?1219287990 All right, I'm a little stumped on this one. My first thought is your cat has a kidney issue (which is my way of saying, it's the kidney, but I don't know what exactly is causing it). It could be genetic or environmental toxicity. Usually with kidney issues infection tends to come up. Now, it is possible that the infection is so minor that it isn't picked up by the test...did they do a urine check for infection only or blood as well?
Avatar m tn The subject invention concerns materials and methods for detecting, preventing and treating infection by FIV in humans and other non-feline animals susceptible to infection by FIV. The present invention is based on the surprising discovery that FIV can be transmitted from cats to humans and can infect human cells in vivo. Human subjects have been identified that are FIV positive and appear to have been infected through contact with their pet cats.
5761111 tn?1373906251 Soooo for the past three days my vagina has been super swollen from one side of my lips and I feel like I have a rash and have been super itchy to the point that I have to shower to go to sleep and it had me in tears! Avatar m tn Tresaderm or the equivalent would have been a better choice than mineral oil for your cats. Since they all groom each other there is a possibility for each of them to ingest a bit of mineral oil and sniff it. I doubt if there was enough to cause harm for just one treatment, but please ask your vet for Tresaderm. Incidentally, ear mites cannot be seen with the average human eye.
