I have never heard of a yeast infection being linked to preterm labour, but I am not a Dr. either so I certainly don't know that for sure. I do know you shouldn't just ignore it, nor should you try to treat it yourself with an over the counter remedy. You should see your Dr. I don't know it this applied to yeast infections, but I do know that small issues can be bigger problems during pregnancy and your Dr. is the best person to diagnose and treat you appropriately.
t even sound safe to take internally or externally. Boric Acid is a toxin used to kill rodents. I have heard of one home remedy for boric acid, and that is for ear aches...and that doesn't even sound safe to me. Only your OB can tell you what is safe to treat your yeast infection. I know Monistat is safe to use. Please don't ever try to self diagnose or treat yourself during pregnancy, it's not worth the consequences to your baby.
Recently I came down with an upper respiratory infection and the doctor prescribed me a penicillin to clear it up. I told the doctor that I had a yeast infection the last time I took an antibiotic. I purchased a probiotic but didnt take it till after the 3rd day of medication and the damage was done already. I got a yeast infection and I have had one before due to antibiotics so I knew what it was.
Did he do a culture on any of the spots?

I have had a yeast infection for about 3 months now. I have tried Gynazole-1 & when that didn't work I was given 2 Diflucan pills taken 3 days apart. That didn't work so I went back to the Dr. who looked under the microscope & said it looked like definately yeast. I have had cultures & STD testing done, all fine. So I was given a 7 day treatment of Terazol & 2 more Diflucan pills (take 5 days apart) to take at the same time as using the Terazol.
Since the end of last year I've been having this particular issue. It happens every month, to a greater or lesser degree. This month, my period lasted days 1-5, which is normal. Today is day 16, and my cm is still light pink. It floats in water and is pretty abundant, but doesn't itch. The smell is not bad or foul, but a bit like iron (I know that sounds weird, but...).
Go to the doctor first to make sure it's not a bladder infection and then they'll check for yeast too!

I appreciate your insights, I'm at my whits end. It's actually my daughter who has been experiencing symptoms of BV (fishy odor, very light greyish discharge, inflamed area, complaining of pain) which started after several rounds of antibiotics for ear infections. This has been going on for 6 plus weeks, and the complaining is getting more frequent. She grabs at herself and says it hurts, wont let me take a good look.
I have had a reoccurring infection after a root canal over the past two years. Now my hands & feet are swelling up and showing arthritis like symptoms. Very painful. I am having mouth surgery very soon to "clean out" the cavity that has formed from the infection eating away the bone tissue in the area near where the root canal was done.
